Love in a bag

Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge

Hearts are the theme on Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge this fortnight, there is also some great BoBunny candy on offer for one lucky winner. The DT have created some great cards to give us inspiration.

I fancied a change from cards today so made this Valentines Bag, I will give it to one of the boys it may encourage them to get a pressie for their OH. This was a really easy project, It is just a plain brown paper bag to which I have added some fab papers from Bearly Mine's 1st CD. Have used my MS heart punch again, this will be worn out by the time Valentines Day is over.

Another of Mo's sweet images has coloured with Copics, the flowers are as usual from Wild Orchid Crafts. I think the sentiment is from SU.

Sundays Child

Create 4 Fun Challenge

Whilst shopping at Mo's for the cute little boy image I used on yesterdays card, I just couldn't resist buying a couple more that caught my eye. This is one of them and she fits the beautiful sketch on Create 4 Fun Challenge. I will show you what I did with the other image tomorrow its all coloured up just waiting to be mounted.

Being a Sundays Child myself (not sure I lived up to the rhyme though :D ), of course I had to have her, she is coloured with Copics and I have added Stardust Stickles and Gold Liquid Pearls. The papers are from my newest download from Nitwits, and the flowers have been punched with the Large, Mediuun and Small Retro Flower Punch.

Oh Boy!!!!

Simon Says Stamp Challenge and Friday Sketchers

There is a lovely sketch by my good friend Jeanette on Friday Sketchers and the theme on Simon Says Stamp Challenge is BABY, so I hope todays cards fits both challenges.

This sweet little boy is one of Mo's truly stunning images, I saw him yesterday on a card by Joey and just had to have him. He has been coloured with Copics and Prisma Pencils, the papers are a download from Nitwits Collection (have you noticed I am using lots of their wonderful downloads lately, you can always find a paper to match your images on their website, and I think the prices are really reasonable). MS Border Punch, a couple of buttons and a Baseball Cap charm are all thats needed to make this card complete.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

Just Magnolia Challenge and Wags'nWhiskers Challenge

Just Magnolia Challenge

We have a lovely challenge for you this week on Just Magnolia HEARTS AND FLOWERS just right with Valentines Day just over a fortnight away.

This week our sponsor is Wild Orchid Craft– specialists in Mulberry paper roses, paper flowers and craft supplies. They pride themselves on offering excellent value for money and superb customer service as well as an amazing range of paper flowers. We are thrilled to have them sponsor us as we all love flowers!! The prize is amazing too – lots and lots of roses, cherry blossoms, flat backed gems and even some little satin hearts, just in time for Valentines day cards.

Another Easel card from me again this week, and I am afraid another set of rubbish photos, think I need a new Camera, Tilda hanging on her Ribbon and the Lace Heart are from this years Winter Magnolia Kit and the Heart with Wings is from Last Years Magnolia Valentines Collection.

Distress Inks have been used again to colour all the images, I have added Glamour Dust to the wings on the winged heart then cut and layered them onto the base. Of course the MS Heart Border Punch had to be used and the DP are all by Magnolia.

A closer look at the beautiful Wild Orchid Craft flowers which have been sprayed with Old Lace Glimmer Mist.

Wags'n Whiskers Challenge

Challenge 10 - Blue White and Brown

It's time for another fun challenge!! The very talented Inge is our host this week. She has come up with an AWESOME color challenge (one of my favorites)...Blue, White, and Brown!!

As usual, one lucky winner will receive 1 free Wags 'n Whiskers stamp of YOUR CHOICE!! Just remember that you must use a Wags 'n Whiskers stamp in order to be entered into the drawing. My fellow DT Divas have produced some fantastic cards using this stunning colour scheme so don't forget to check the challenge blog.

This image is called a Good Read and is designed by Crissy Armstrong, those of you in Europe and the Uk can buy this stamp from Bunny Zoes Craft. I have used Copics on this image. The papers are Basic Grey, The MS Heart Border Punch was still on my desk after making the JM card so I used that in the corner and of course no card would be complete without some gorgeous flowers from Wild Orchid Craft.

Both the above cards fit the challenge on Cute Card Thursday this week where the Challenge is BLOOMING GORGEOUS and is again sponsored by the extremely generous Wild Orchid Crafts.

Have managed to get Mum a Dentists appointment on Monday and have got some very strong pain killers from the dentist for her, so we had a better night last night, thanks for all your kind wishes for Mum.

WOJ City Girls Sneak Peek 3

Can you guess I just lurve these stamps, 3 posts in one day, never been heard of from me. The thing is whilst I was awake last night I stamped and coloured all the new Whiff of Joy City Girls images and after having a sleep this afternoon I decided to make us this card.

One reason I couldn't wait to make this card was I bought the new set of papers from Nitwits Collection today and the colours were a perfect match for the already coloured image. I used Distress Inks and Inkadinks to colour her (not long until we have the new TH Distress Ink colours now). Quite simple embellies, this is made up for with lots of layering.

WOJ City Girls Sneak Peek No 2

As promised another sneak peek for you, Wow your response to these new Whiff of Joy City Girls has been awesome, but I felt sure everyone would love them as I did. Don't forget they will be on sale on the Whiff of Joy website from 4th February.

I am really unhappy with the photo of this card it looks so nice IRL but seems a little washed out and not quite as sharp as I would like, but as Mum was suffering from toothache last night and I didn't have any sleep at all, (not even a minute), I am too tired to try to fix it anymore, may have a go once I have had a sleep.
Coloured with Distress Inks again, the papers are Cosmo Cricket and the fabulous border punch is by Martha Stewart.

Whiff of Joy Sneak Peek

Create 4 Fun

There is a great sketch on Create 4 Fun this week and it suited this stunning new Elizabeth Bell image that is one of the images in the Whiff of Joy City Girls Collection that will be released on 4th February. All of the images are just stunning and really different from any of Elizabeths images so far.

I hope you like what you have seen in this sneak peek, look out for more from my fellow WOJ DT friends. I have used Distress Inks and Inkadinks to colour this image, I distressed the oval base card with Faded Jeans Ink. The papers are Basic Grey, I have had them in my drawer for ages knew I would use them one day!!. Not sure where I got the Prima Flowers and Swirls from, I have added silver Liquid Pearls in a small circle around the pearl brad .

Will be back later today with another sneak peek.

Lovesick Edwin

A Spoonfull of Sugar Challenge

It's a "Free Style" challenge for you this week at A Spoonfull of Sugar Challenge (No I don't mean Crawl, or breaststroke :)!) Just please yourself, and make a card or creation using any stamp, papers and embellies. What a lot of scope for your imagination there. The Dt have created some great examples for you so please come and join us this week.

I have used this lovable little Edwin from the Winter Magnolia Kit this week and the Magnolia papers were still on my desk from yesterdays WOJ card. I have long admired
Kims fantastic grunge board embellishments so I thought I would have a try myself, I know I have a long way to go to get anywhere near Kims standard, but I am not going to give up as I really enjoyed creating this heart, I painted it with Distress Paint (Antique Linen the only one I have) and then sprayed it with Old Lace Glimmer Mist, I used another MS Deep Border Punch and added lots of stickles all over the card.

Just a quick update on the Release of the Lili of the Valley Stamps, wow they have been a success Lisa and Liala have been rushed off their feet, in the 6 hours between 12 midnight an 6am this morning they had already received 60 orders.

Whiff of Joy News

All you lovers of Whiff of Joy Stamps in the south of England are really in for a treat, Katharina has managed to get a stall at the Ally Pally Show in April and will be coming over herself. Isn't that fabulous, I for one cannot wait to meet one of my all time favourite Blogging Idols and to add to the excitement she has asked WOJ DT members who can get to the show to do some demonstrating, Wow I cannot believe my luck!!!. Can you tell I am doing the happy dance on the ceiling!!!

I thought I would make a DT card to go with this announcement and I have used one of my favourites from the Winter Collection, she has been coloured with Distress Inks and mounted on Magnolia DP. I have used a MS Border punch (of course) and flowers from Wild Orchid Craft. I know it is quite plain for me, but I am in to simple today!!.

Ohhhh!!! I have just seen I haven't put the top border on straight (smacked hand).

Spring Cleaning

This weeks sketch on Sketch Saturday is as usual fabulous and they are also sponsored by a fabulous company Kraftin Kimmie, I am really loving all the cards I have seen made with their stamps.

Colouring this sweet little Tilda has reminded me that I really need to get on with some housework, (I have done the bearest minimum since Christmas). She has been coloured with Distress Inks and lots of Glamour Dust. The papers were still hanging around my desk from a previous card and are a download from Nitwits Collection. The flowers have been sprayed with Old Lace Glimmer Mist and I have added Stardust Stickles.

2 quick cards

The Sugar Bowl Challenge

The two images I have used today have been coloured for a week or so, and not having much time this week I decided to search through some challenge sites to see if they would fit anywhere. The first one can of course be used for the The Sugar Bowl Challenge, which is a fabulous sketch and the you also have to include Distressing.

Raven is such a cute image from Sugar Nellie, and of course I had to colour her up as soon as I got her, but couldn't find the time to make her into a card. She has been coloured with Distress Inks, and the delish papers are a download, I have distressed the edges with the Tim Holtzs Distressing tool then edged them with Frayed Burlap DI.

Moving along with the Times have a fabulous sketch you must also use a Digi Image, and Cute Card Thursday are looking for creations with a fairy image, so I think this card meets both criteria.

This is a gorgeous image from the fantastically talented MO, I just adore all her images they are just so lifelike. I have kept this card quite plain as the image says it all, so no embellies (don't know how I managed that!). It has been coloured with Copics with Glamour Dust and Liquid Pearls added liberally. The papers are by Kaisercraft.
