A Wee Sunday Offering

pt1a

Morning all and a happy Sunday everyone, I had the most fantastic Saturday made even better by the fact that it was quite unexpected, my number 2 son Richard held a surprise BBQ for me DIL’s 30th Birthday.  He roped in all Gemmas friends and elected a Marquee and BBQ in one of the friends gardens another friend bought his decks and everyone bought food and drink, Gemma was lured to the house under false pretences and her face when she saw all her friends and family was a picture, I was so proud of my Richard for arranging all this for her.  The girls even taught me how to dance to the house music, may have some photos to show you during the week!!!!  if  you can bear the sight of a 64 year old  making a fool of herself Smile, I blame it on the Pimms.

pt1

A Little Wee Stamps image for you today, i followed the sketch from Sunday Sketch and Stamp but didn’t have time to upload it yesterday so I have missed the deadline, but I am in time to enter it for this weeks Papertake Weekly Challenge which is Pastels.

The papers are a Nitwits Download “TippyToes”.  The Flowers I know are by Prima but I cannot remember where I got them from.  I punched two hearts one from card and one from backing paper with the Martha Stewart Heart punch, the sentiment is by Lili of the Valley, and I have used lots of Stickles on the image and around the layers.  The Pearls are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

pt1b

The next 4 weeks are going to be the busiest I have every had to work, so much going on behind the scenes so if I am missing every  now and again I hope you will bear with me.

The Copics I Have used:

Dress Eings: R85, R83, R81, RV000

Flesh: E02, E01, E00, E000

Friends

jm1a

What a dull old morning it is here in Kent, mustn't  moan though as we need this rain the poor farmers are pulling their hair out after the dry spring.  Its time for Just Magnolia & hAnglar & stAnglar Challenge and this week its my turn to host the challenge and I have chosen the theme of “FRIENDS” , I have meet so many lovely, kind and wonderful people since I started blogging and thought it was time I celebrated that fact.

I am sad to say that I have decided to step down from the Wild Orchid Craft DT , I have known Paul and Siri for 2 years and they are the nicest people you can meet they have been so generous to me whilst I have been on the DT  so I would like to say a very big Thank You to them, it was not an easy decision but I think the right one.

jm1

Here is Tilda with her best friend Floppy, she has been coloured as usual with Copics, oh I wish I could tell you how hard it was to distress this beautiful Pion Paper from Dies to Die for had to take a depth breathe and dive straight in.  The lovely Roses are all from Wild Orchid Crafts and the rest of the floral arrangement was cobbled together from my Stash.

jm2

Do you believe in Fairies

wd5a

Happy Thursday all, it’s Lili of the Valley Challenge Time again and this week our theme is “I believe in Fairies”, well I do I have them living at the bottom of my garden.  Lili of the Valley have so many stunning fairy stamps that this shouldn’t be too difficult a challenge.

I have chosen Dandelion Clock fairy for my card, I do so love her little cardigan, my Nan knitted  me one just like it when I was young.  I have also used  a ribbon from the LOTV Clear Additions set called “Ribbons and Bows”, the image and ribbon have both been coloured with Copics,  the papers are a mixture of various Nitwits Collection downloads. I used a Marianne Designs Die set for the roses.  The 4mm closed rosebuds are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
wd4
The Copics used:
Shoes and Cardigan and Ribbon: YG07, YG01, YG00
Skirt, Wings & Cardigan and Ribbon: R37, R22, R21, R30
Flesh: E02, E01, E00, E000 R20
Hair: C9, C6, C5, C3
I have been loving the fabulous images from Make it Crafty that have been cropping up recently but I have had a bit of a crafty spending spree this months (what's new), and have been trying to resist, but I am a woman with little will power and today I gave in and bought a few (10 I think).
Wd1a
This little beauty is called “Siren Lorelei” and I have popped her into another of the digi images called  “Clam Shell”,  the images come as a Zip file and are JPeg and PDF images so you can resize them or take them into your graphics programme they even come with a coloured image to get you started.
wd9
I took ages colouring the hair and shell that there wasn’t much time before I went to bed to make up the card, so it isn’t one of my best, as she is sitting in a Clam shell I thought I would give the card a Pearl theme, I have tried to give the impression of pearls just falling through her hands.  The papers are from the new collection of Magnolia Papers from Crafts U Love, and the doily poked behind the image is a Cheery Lynn design called “French Pastry Doily” from Dies to Die For, the Wild Roses and Sweetheart Blossom are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The charms are some of the  fabulous selection available from The Ribbon Girl.
I will list the copics at the end of the post, but wanted to explain the colours, I spent quite a time choosing and experimenting with colours for the hair blue does seem strange I know but I do think it works I am really pleased with the results.
wd10

Copic Colours, I have written them in the order that I laid them down hope this helps;
Hair: C9, B99, B97, C3, C00
Flesh: E02, E01, E00, E000
Shell and Tail: R89, R85, R83, R81, RV000, RV0000
Thanks for staying with me I know this was a long post

Trying a bit of Clean and Simple

ps1a

WoooHoo!!!! my new camera arrived late yesterday afternoon so I am back in Business, as I was saying yesterday I have been trying my hand at clean and simple not sure yet whether I am cut out for this style, I really admire all you girls who produce such stunning cards without the use of embellishments and backing papers, I have a long way to go I am afraid.

ps1

I am quite pleased with this one but not sure if it fits the criteria, (but you must admit it is a pretty drastic change from my usual fussy cards).   Since I have had this little darling little Lili of the Valley  “No 7 Bear” I have wanted to colour him in sepia but I hadn’t got any Hot Press Watercolour Paper, keep forgetting to Order it, so I decided to try and get the effect using Copics, (colours below).  Last week I ordered a few Co-Ordinations Pads and Distressing Pad from Crafters Companion,  I love this card and the effects you can achieve with just a little work, I run the dark brown card through the Cuttlebug in the Happy Birthday Embossing Folder, then sanded it down with the Distressing Pad.  The only embellie is the Tim Holtzs Adage Ticket which I have stapled to the corner.

ps1b

The Copics used to Colour my Lili of the Valley “No 7  Bear

E35, E31, E53, E50.

I will show you another couple of Clean and simply cards , I am very brave as these should really go straight in the bin but I would really appreciate your comments on where I can improve on this style any criticism and advice would be appreciated as I would really like to conquer this style.  Both cards have been made using Lili of the Valley Stamps.

ps3

Martha Stewart Border Punch and Fleur De Lys Spellbinder have been distressed with Distress Ink “Forest Moss” The Copics used on Lili of the Valley Garden of Wishesare:

Flesh: E21, E00, E000, R20

Hair, E71, E70, E40

Dress & Wings : B04, B02, B00, B0000, Goo, G0000

and finally my first effort

ps2

This one was made using flowers and swirls from the Lili of the Valley Folk Flowers A5 Sheet from  Clear Additions Collection.  I know I have been a bit heavy handed with the Distress Ink on this one, (I told you it should of gone in the Bin).

I did promise I would do a few tutorials on colouring hair, folds and pleats I will make a start today now I have my camera.

Hope you have a good day

Almost there

IMG_0240a

Well its almost here, you will all be able to get your hands on the Adorable Humphrey Stamp and Twin CD release from Crafters Companion, he could be yours ftom 9pm Tuesday when the will be Pick of the Day on Ideal World.

I have been loving  the clean and simply look we are seeing on the blogs lately and have spent the day trying my hand at this style, its much harder than it looks especially for someone like me who loves my backing papers and embellies, think I will have to take it one step at a time until I get it right.  I cannot show you the 2 cards I have made so far, as you know my camera has gone to the  big camera heaven and while I am awaiting a replacement I have no means to take a photo.

IMG_0241

Anyway down to todays card, this is the last of the 6 Humphrey stamps I have showcased this week, and what a sweetie he is.  The step card blank is from Which Crafts. The papers and alphabet are from the Humphrey CD.  A tiny Retro Flower Punch from The Hobby House has been used for punching the flowers and a seletion of punches used for the leaves.  The image has been coloured with Copics.

IMG_0240

Well I am off to mourn my camera now, I really would of  liked to get your comments and ideas of where I am going wrong with these plain and simple cards, but it will have to wait

Time to Conga

IMG_0234a

Hi and Good evening everyone, here is another Sneak Peek of the adorable Humphrey Stamps this image just makes me smile every time I look at it.  The stamp is part of the of Humphrey Release from Crafters companion, that will be launched at 9pm on Tuesday on Ideal World, together with a fabulous twin Disc CD.

IMG_0233

I am not sure what this style of card is called it is a normal 15cm square card, the front of the card has been scored and folded in the middle.   There are 2 stamps on this sheet that can be joined up to make a long Conga Line or as I have done stamped individually, I stamped and coloured one image for the front of the card then cut around the front elephant as shown, then I stamped and coloured the other image and carefully lined it up so the first elephant on the front of the card joins the bottom conga line and his arm appears to be around the last elephant on the back image.  (Wow what a long winded way of explaining it)!!!!

The lovely bright backing papers and borders are from the accompanying CD.  I have used a Martha Stewart Border Punch to cut a white border for both sides of the card.

IMG_0234

I was going to take a photo of the two images joined up but I dropped my camera as I was trying to take the photo and I killed it Sad smile

And here a couple more of the Grandmas Button Sample Cards I made for Katy Sue Designs, this fabulous Cd is Pick of the Week on Create and Craft this week.  I would buy this CD just for the stunning Backing papers,  all the backing papers and images are from the CD

Now its time to say thank you to all the fabulous people who came to the Lili of the Valley  Colouring Days  in Ashford over the weekend, Bev, Lisa, Laila and I really enjoyed your company  and hope that you went home feeling we had succeed in what we promised, it was amazing to see the high standard of colouring you all managed.  I hope to upload some photos to the Lili of the Valley Inspirations Blog tomorrow so you can all see what a great 2 days we had.

Another Sneak Peek and some behind the scenes work

IMG_0232a

Good Morning TGIF is all I can say, I have had the most hectic month so far but it has all been enjoyable as  I just have the best products to play with, I am so lucky.  Well I am going to share another sweet Humphrey stamp with you today, if you would like the chance to win the complete Crafters Companion Humphrey collection (2 Cds full of delicious backing papers, decoupage and lots more and 6 stamps) please scroll down to the post below  and follow the directions.

IMG_0231

I have made an A4 card, when making samples it is hard to make each one different but I do struggle with A4 cards. Don’t you love this backing paper it is from the CD.  The image has been stamped onto white card, then cut out with one of the new Nesties Dies, I have 3d every other heart back into its space and distressed around the edge.  The Heart to Heart Doily die from Dies to Die for has been distressed and popped behind the image.  The Sweetheart Blossom and 4mm closed Rosebuds are from Wild Orchid Crafts, Seam Binding and Heart Charm is from The Ribbon Girl.

IMG_0232

Don’t forget you can watch the Pick of the Day featuring all the Humphrey products from 9pm on Ideal World on Tuesday 24th May.

IMG_0258a

Last week I received a CD from Sue at Flower-soft with a request to make some cards for this week Create and Craft Pick of the Week shows,  as you know I am much more a stamper than a CD crafter but I can really say I LOVED this CD called Grandmas Buttons, it will be available on Create and Craft from Midday today and from the Website at the beginning of June.  The papers are sure to appeal to any crafters, lovely Patchwork, alphabets, Numbers, Tags, Flowers and lots more including some really fabulous Bunting.

IMG_0257

Another of the dreaded A4’s here.  The papers, Borders, Pocket, Flowers Tag and Decoupage are all from this adorable CD, I will try to schedule some more Humphrey Sneak peeks and also more Grandmas Buttons cards over the weekend.

Big Hugs

Here Comes Summer–Lili of the Valley Challenge & another Sneak Peek

summer3a

Two cards for you today, first we have my DT card for Lili of the Valley Challenge which this week has a lovely theme for you HERE COMES SUMMER, and a chance to win a £10 voucher to spend in the store.

summer1

I have used one of the older Lili of the Valley Images for this card this one is called “Deckchair Dreaming” and fits the challenge perfectly.  I must admit I am so stressed and busy at the moment I could do with a bit of deckchair dreaming!!!  The sentiment also fits the challenge perfectly and is again by Lili of the Valley.

The papers used are from K&Co Pad “Hopscotch Boy”,   I now have my eye on a Banner Dye from Tracy at Dies to Die For but haven’t ordered it yet, so I cut out the little flags by hand and stuck them on to some Twine and draped across th top of the card.

summer2

I have used Copics to colour the image, I am afraid I rushed this card late last night and its not up to my usual standard, will have to make a note to myself to get more organised.

The Copics Used: Bear: E53, E51, E50, Prisma Pencil – Medium Brown

Deckchair: YG25, YG23, YG21, YR15, Y38, Y35, E17, E13

IMG_0227a

Todays sneak peek from the Crafters Companion Humphrey release is one of my favourite stamps, hopw could you resist these 2 little cutioes.

Ellie4

Another 4 Drawer box card used for this one, but this box took half the time to make, I used the Crafters Companion new Boxer Board and the instructions on the accompanying Ultimate Advanced Construction Techniques DVD  to make this one it was just so simple.

All the Papers are from the Humphrey Twin CD that accompanies the stamps.  The Wild Orchid Crafts  Seam Binding has been distressed, the lace is from my stash box, the doily behind the image was cut with Cherry Lynn Design Waltzing Matilda Lace Doily Die from Dies to Die For.  The flowers are also a die from Magnolia and I have added 2 Babies Breath flowers to the middle,

IMG_0228a

As these images are coloured so much in advance I never mange to find the colours I use Sorry!!!
