Happy Halloween

The last Halloween creation for this year, there have been some fabulous Halloween stamps released in the last few months and I have really enjoyed making cards and creations with them as Halloween is not usually my thing. I have made each of my Grandsons one of these bag, I cannot wait to see what they are dressing up as tonight I am sure whatever the choose they will give me a scare lol!!!

The template for the Petal Bag is from Papertrey Ink, I love their templates they are so straight forward and well explained. Again I have used Pink Petticoat Papers, and the Pumpkin and Ghost are by Peachy Keen Stamps, they have been coloured copics and 3d onto the bag. The Halloween sweets and spider are from Marks & Sparks.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge

This weeks challenge:

White on White

Now its not as difficult as you think and after a little panic.....I'm sure your all going to love this one.... as we all did. We'd like to see your creations in WHITE.... that's everything..... WHITE papers, WHITE embellishments - apart from the image...this can have colour.

As always you can create a card...altered art...bag...box...notebook etc...the only rule being that you use at least one Penny Black image or sentiment

We have another fabulous prize this week 15% DISCOUNT VOUCHER to spend at PB Stamps

I cannot say I am happy with this card, in fact I really dislike it, but I made it last weekend and I have not had time to make another this week. But if you would like some brilliant inspiration you must have a look at my Fellow DT members cards they are just beautiful.

Lots of Punches used on this one, my favourite Fleur de Lys Nestie was used for the centre piece and Martha Stewart Snowflake punch for the snowflakes in each corner, this have both had a massive dusting of Glamour Dust, I have used another Martha Stewart punch for the bottom border. Lots of flat back pearls have also been added. The little PB image has been coloured with copics, I think I would have been better not cutting the image out and just used a Nestie.

Have a good weekend everyone and take care if you are going out tonight hope you don't bump into any Ghosts or Ghouls, I am off to polish up my Broomstick.

Just Magnolia Challenge

Our challenge this week is Monochrome. Now there was some confusion amongst the DT - some of us have interpreted it as it should be - shades of all one colour, others have interpreted it as one colour plus white. So we're leaving this up to you as to which way you decide to go. Just remember your project MUST incorporate a Magnolia stamp on it to qualify for a prize. We are seeing some fabulous cards with no Magnolia images on which is such a shame as they don't qualify to be in the prize draw.

Another fabulous prize donated by our dear friend Heidi from Simon Says Stamp $25 Dollars to spend on the website. Thank you so much Heidi you are so generous.

I was one of those who didn't understand the meaning of Monotone and thought it was white with one other colour, Tilda was stamped and masked then the cup was stamped over the mask, I ave used distress inks today. I think the papers are a download but not sure where from as they were in my scrap drawer.

The image was cut out with Nesties, and ash branch and butterflies punched with MS Butterfly punch.

A close up of the delicious roses that have had a generous spray with Pearl Glimmer Mist. The large Rose and the fab red tulle are both from Tabby Crafts. The smaller roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts

Mum slept a little better last night thanks for asking about her.

Christmas Joy

Thanks for all you lovely wishes for Mum, I haven't managed to get any sleep yet but as soon as I have finished this post I am going to make Mum a Hot Milk and Whiskey and hope she goes to sleep for a few hours so I can get some shut eye. I will try to visit you tomorrow once again apologies for my tardiness.

Another step card for you today, I cannot stop making them, it is such a good way to show you a collection of the new Whiff of Joy Elizabeth Bell Winter Collection, the images used today are Oakley, Sledge, Sitting Willow, and Willow and Stocking, the sentiment is also from the same collection. They have all been coloured with Copics then cut out and 3d onto the card.

The Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses Paper has been matted onto Deep Red Card, the Joy sentiment was punched with a New Martha Stewart Border Punch which I bought from Sir Stampalot, I just cut one of the Joy sentiments off and bent it a little before sticking it onto the card. The Snowflake is punched with MS Snowflake Punch and Glitter was added to give it sparkle.

Christmas Angel

Whiff of Joy Challenge

It is Wednesday!!!! So that means another challenge at Whiff of Joy Challenge Blog! Boy you all sure rocked Heather's sketch last week, a lot of entry's and such gorgeous cards you all made. Our challenge this week is to use Red and Cream with one added Colour on your Card

There is a new illustrator for Whiff of Joy!!!! And the new Christmas release for Norma Fickel will be Saturday the 31st of October!!!
You will see a few of the new images on our challenge blog this week. SO keep an eye out over at Whiff of Joy for these cute little images.

Firstly sorry I haven't visited anyone the last couple of days Mum has finally caught the Piggy Flu, despite all my efforts to keep it away from the house, and I have been rushed off my feet day and night, in fact I got to bed at 5.30am this morning and was woken at 7.45 again, so I am sitting here keeping my eyes open with Matchsticks.

I am really late with posting this and in fact have not even posted it on the Challenge Blog yet, but will do that as soon as I have finished here. Today I have used one of the new Elizabeth Bell Winter Kit images from Whiff of Joy, isn't she beautiful, I hope you managed to get your pre-orders in they should be winging there way to you on the 30th October so not long to wait now.

I have coloured the image with Distress Inks again, and also distressed around the edges of the image and papers with the Inks, the papers are Bo-Bunny, spacers are from Eggstravaganza, Roses from Wild Orchid Crafts and Pin from Tabby Crafts. The Ribbon was a RAK from dear Rach but I think is available from Hobbycrafts.

Hope you decide to come and join us this week if you need inspiration my fellow DT members have created the most beautiful cards just click Here to go to the challenge blog.

I hadn't really noticed how much Tilda has changed over this year, but after stamping up this older image it is so noticeable, but I am still an addict whether to the old or new Tilda. I have used this weeks sketch from Sketch Saturday for my card this week, so I hope I can also enter it for their challenge. The image has been coloured with Distress Inks with Glamour Dust added to her wings and apron, the edges of the image have been distressed with Spiced Marmalade Distress Inks, the sentiment is also from Magnolia.

The Magnolia papers have been matted onto dark brown card, and a Martha Stewart border punch has been used. By the way have you seen the fabulous new Christmas Papers from Magnolia they can be found on the Crafts U Love Website, of course I had to get my order in quick. I have had lots of people ask where I got my Magnolia Ink Magazine from I pre-ordered it from Sir Stampalot

Doing the Happy Dance

Magnolia Magazine

I have just had the New Magnolia Magazine delivered, wow it is full of so much inspiration and such beautiful cards, a lot of which are made by some of the very very talented girls I work with on a couple of DT's, so before anything else can I say congratulations and thanks for the Tutorials and awesome cards to Tab, Kim, Jay Jay, Camilla and lastly the fabulous Claudia. I will be following your tutorials and studying your cards over the next few days. If you have never visited their fabulous blogs just click on the names and you will be taken straight to wonderland.

I would also like to send great big hugs and congratulations to a very dear and mega, mega talented friend Chris Dark, who won the Card competition set by Magnolia for the first issue of the magazine.

Now for the reason I am doing the happy dance, as if the above wasn't enough to get me started, some weeks ago I entered the Magnolia Weekend Challenge, and my jaw dropped to the ground when I saw my card in the magazine, I had passed it once thinking that looks like a card I made, then went back and saw it was MY CARD!!!!

I had forgotten all about it, and have had to search through my photos and cards to find it, but here is the card that was featured. I have made a step card as I wanted to make a little Night before Christmas winter scene on the card.

I have used lots of Magnolia Images, here is Tilda with Braid and Silent Night Music Stamp, all the Tildas have been coloured with Distress Inks, I stamped the whole of the Silent Night stamp then tore it in half distressed the edges with scissors and distressed the finished results with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink.

Here are Tilda with Candle and Tilda as Lucia, the Winter Forest image has been stamped onto Green card and Glamour Dust added around the edges.

Here is a side view of the card, well I will go now and finish my happy dance. Hope you have all ordered your magazine I must say it was well worth the money, need to know now how to order the next edition.

A Present for Lucy

Mo's Digital Challenge and Saturday Spotlight with Hidden Potential Challenge,

The theme this week on Mo's Digital Challenge, is "Anything but a Card", I wasn't sure if I could think of anything for this as my Mojo is having a Sunday off again, but after I had coloured up some of Mo's images, the urge to make something suddenly came back :). As usual the Dt have created some stunning cards so why not take a trip over to the challenge blog and join in.

I really ended up enjoying making this little present for Lucy could be the chance to use Pink on a gift for one of my DGC at last gave me added impetus. The template for the this little gift is available to download from Papertrey Inks, it is much easier to make than it looks. I didn't think it needed to much decoration so just punched out some white card with the Martha Stewart Snowflake Border Punch and added pink ribbon around the centre, the snowflake on top of the cartons is also a Martha Stewart Punch.

This is one of my favourites of all MO's images, and as soon as I saw her I knew I wanted to use her for Lucy's First Christmas, she has been coloured with Copics and Glimmer Bust has been added to the falling snow.

POST
I have just been reminded by my good friend Vicki that I can enter this creation in this week Saturday Spotlight with Hidden Potential Challenge, which is to design a container for a "sweet" gift, thanks hun MWAH xxx

The lovely large Rose, Ribbon Lace and Hat Pin are from a selection at Tabby Crafts, as usual the roses have had a good spray of Pearl Glimmer Mists, McGill Ash Branch Punch was used for the leaves and the corners were cut from Pink Card with Cuttlebug Corner die.

I had fun making this card, wish we celebrated Halloween a bit more over here in the UK, the papers are from Pink Petticoat's Spooky CD, I thought twice about getting the CD as I thought I might not use it much but a lot of the papers can be used all through the year. The Little Mouse Witch is a Penny Black Stamp and has been coloured with copics.

I added the Magnolia Spiders Web stamp to the corner of the image and added dots of glue all over then added Glamour Dust hoping to give the impression of rain or dew on the web, I am pleased with how it turned out. The bats are cut with a Cuttlebug Die and I have added Glamour Dust to the edge of their wings and white pen to the eyes.

These 2 pumpkins are also Magnolia stamps as is the Halloween sentiment. The Pumpkins have been coloured with Copics then cut out and 3d with Pinflair Glue Gel

Christmas Wishes

Just Magnolia Challenge

This week our sponsor is All That Scraps

And the prize is any C.C. Designs stamp set of your choice!! And oh my! There are some fabulous sets for you to choose from!

This week we have a sketch for you, you can rotate the sketch and resize the elements, as long as you follow the original sketch so your entry qualifies for the prize draw. The winner will be chosen by Random Generator next week so to be in the running all you need to do is ensure you have at least one Magnolia image on your card and link your card (not your blog) in Mr Linky and have your card posted by 10 pm UK time next Thursday. To see the sketch and also the fabulous cards created by my Fellow DT Members just click Here

At last I found where I had stored last Christmas Magnolia stamps, do you ever put things in a safe place then forget where you put them, I spent ages trying to find where I had stored my last years Christmas stamps and papers.

I have masked Tilda and used the Magnolia Silent Night Text stamp as a background for her. I used the largest Nestie in this label set to cut out the image, then drew around the Nestie on red card and cut by hand to get the border (thanks Bev for this idea). I cannot remember where I got the lace from, I thought it gave the look of Icicles.

I used distress inks to colour Tilda then using the Tim Holtz distressing pad went all around the image and backing papers with Frayed Burlap ink. The large Poinsettia was covered with Glossy Accents then sprinkled with Twinklets, the brad was coloured to match with a Copic Marker. The Poinsettia, spacer and brad were bought from The Hobby House stand at Ally Pally. The red flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and have been spritzed with Glimmer Mist. The sentiment is also one of last years Christmas Magnolia releases.

A closer look at the flowers.

Now I am off to do a but of blog hopping, hoped to do it early but Mr Blogger was playing up again, perhaps he went on strike in sympathy with the Postmen.

Today's challenge is to use Inky Impressions Stamps/Image to make a card following a great sketch.

Two posts in one day hope I am not boring you. This image is not just a great stamp but you are also helping Breast Cancer Awareness when you purchase it, as Nicole "Lili's" creator is donating part of the proceeds to this worthwhile charity, and of course October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

I have coloured Lili Awareness Ribbon with copics, the sentiment is by Magnolia, I have added a button and ribbon to the centre of the sentiment. The papers are by Imaginise and flowers as usual from Wild Orchid Crafts

Whiff of Joy Challenge

Love all the die cuts you all used this week, what a wonderful variety!!! Loved them all. Thanks so much for joining us last week.

Just a reminder you have only a few days to get your pre order in for the Winter Stamp Kit. Make sure you get over to Whiff of Joy and get yours in. The kit will be out in a couple of weeks and Katharina has a card made with one of the new images from the release. Oh so pretty.

This week we have a wonderful sketch for you brought to you by our own Heather. And I know you all love her sketch's. So come and join us in this challenge this week. One lucky person will be picked to be Guest Designer with us for the month of November. So get those cards entered for you never know you may be the lucky person.

Just remember there is only 1 rule. You must use a Whiff of Joy Stamp to enter.

Father Christmas in PINK I hear you say!! but its only Coca Cola that says he has to be in RED so thought I would do my own thing and I quite like the result for a little girls Christmas Card. But I am not sure that the blue backing paper is quite right, the lighting in my craft room is not 100%, I am in the attic and only have 1 window so work by artificial light most of the time, the combination seemed to work until I put the card in front of the window this morning.

Anyway my cute Whiff of Joy Father Christmas has been coloured with Distress Inks, the papers are Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses, Nesties were used for the circles and flat back pearls added to make them more interesting. The snowflake which is difficult to see was punched once in Dark Red card and Once in acetate, then Twinklets was added to the acetate one. The pearl brad has been coloured to match the design with copics.

Recipe:
Stamps - Whiff of Joy , Sentiment Penny Black
Papers - Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses
Colouring medium - Distress Inks Tattered Rose Tea Dye Worn Lipstick Broken China Weathered Wood Peeled Paint Spiced Marmalade.
