Double Take - PTW and Sketch Saturday

LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD - PAPERTAKE WEEKLY
Oh wow the Fabulous Dawny P has designed a fantastic sketch for Papertake Weekly Challenge this week, I will certainly be using this one again thanks Dawny. If you are stuck for ideas pop over to the challenge blog and check out the great DT cards

I ordered a couple of the new Winter and Christmas Tildas from Crafts u Love, a bit silly really when I am not sure what we will get in the Winter Magnolia Set, but you know me I couldn't resist. This one just reminds me of little red riding hood so she was crying out to be coloured red, I used my copics on this one. The dotty paper was from the FF christmas pad and I have added red stickles to every spot, not sure if you can see it but looks lovely IRL. The BP is from Artylicious Seasons Greetings Cd, The Ribbon and cute Candle brads are from Michelle at Poppicrafts

SKETCH SATURDAY

Jo never disappoints does she another great sketch for us to work with this week on
Sketch Saturday and the Dt also live up to their great reputation there are some fab cards there girls. Thanks

I am going to have to sit on my hands this week, or hid my purse somewhere there are just too many fab stamps out there at the moment. This is another new Stamp from Funky Kits, let me introduce you to Braveheart, isn't he just the most adorable moggie, he reminds me of Thomasina who runs indoors as soon as a blackbird lands in the garden, she is just a big wuss!!! Anyway enough of my rambling Braveheart has been coloured with Distress Inks, paper is BG, Ribbon from Raspberry Ribbons and buttons from stash. The With love sentiment (which I have just noticed is not on straight opps!) has been embossed with the CB border folder. Thanks for staying with me. Have a great weekend

Tilda & Co and Stampavie

New Challenge and Candy Giveaway
The sad news is Tilda & Co / Sarah Kay Challenges are no more, unfortunately there has had to be some changes. Donna has needed to merge both the blogs together to free some time up for herself.
The good news is we have a brand new challenge blog Magnolia Vs Stampavie. We hope you will join in the challenge each Sunday (as before)
The blog is now partnered with Stampaive so you can use Magnolia Stamps, Sarah Kay Stamps and any other stamp made by Stampaive including the ever so lovely Rachelle Anne Miller Designs (these must be the ones made for Stampavie – check out the list on the challenge blog if you're not sure which stamps can be used).
The blog is now live and the first challenge will be set on Sunday 2nd December. Donna has given us some fab Blog Candy for each DT member to give out which she has kindly donated from her craft store Crafty Krafts

So you like what you see in the photo?
Want to get your hands on this yummy candy? This is what you need to do: Firstly please only enter one candy draw – there are 7 DT members and 7 lots of Candy up for grabs, but only one entry per person. The candy is open to all, and Donna will post worldwide. You have until Saturday 1st November 10pm to enter.

  1. Place a link to the new Blog on your blog, you can grab a Logo HERE
  2. Post about the new challenge blog on your blog and link to it
  3. Leave a comment on the new challenge blog with a link to your post and mention which DT candy you have entered, each candy is different so its impportant to state which draw you have entered.

Donna will then use a random number counter on Sunday and go through all the Designers blog comments and choose one winner from all the entries on that blog. We are looking forward to you joining in with the challenges on the new blog.

2 Christmas Cards for 2 Challenges

WHIFF OF JOY CHALLENGE - RED AND GREEN

Our Challenge for you on Whiff of Joy Challenge this week is a colour challenge:

RED AND GREEN
We are not restricting you to just these two colours on your creation but would like them to be the dominate colours. Looking forward to seeing your great creations.

Charlotte and Babycham are going for a night flight to view the lovely wintery scenes below, they are of course a Whiff of Joy stamp available on the WOJ website, they have been coloured with Promarkers with stickles added to the sleigh and harness, then cut out and 3d on to the background. The Background is taken from Artylicious Seasons Greetings CD available from Graphicus, I have addd Glamour Dust to the trees and snow in the sky. The papers are by BG. The snowlakes (Which I am really pleased with) have been punched with Fiskars Snowflake punch fron Red and Green BG paper then covered with Glamour Dust and layered, I have added a bead cap and stickles to the centre of each snowflake.
I had a fabulous day yesterday with Owen and Charlie and should have a couple of update pictures to add to the blog soon. I am afraid I didn't do any blog hopping at all yesterday but I am sure you will understand, and I will try to get round to visiting you all at some stage today.

STAMPING WITH STAMPAVIE

We have a great sketch for you this week on Stamping with Stampavie. Please come and join us, there are some great DT cards to give you a start.
I was very disappointed when I first tried to stamp up this image, I just couldn't get a good clear and complete impression, after asking advice from fellow bloggers, I did manage to get this image, Annie from InknRubba suggested using Chalk Inks to stamp up, and Rach's advice was to go over the stamp with an eraser to take off any residue left from the manufacture of the stamps. Both do work!!! I stamped this one with chalk ink but was a bit worried about using Distress Inks on it so I just gave it a quick swipe with a DAMP waterbrush to bring in a little of the ink. The brown and Beige papers are from BG and the Flourish paper is from another Artylicious CD - Damask Delights - The Flower is from Prima, I stamped and coloured 2 Forever Friends Parcel Stamps just adding a little Aqua to the bows to tie in with the Flower. Rest from stash. Very Plain but hope you like.
OMG if you are still awake after all this thanks for staying with it.

Getting ready for Bed - A Spoonful of Sugar

Thanks to everyone who took part in challenge 22 we really loved your spooky creations.
This week we would love to see some:
Sparkle and Bling
on your creations
We have a fab prize this week which has very kindly been donated by Lana From Dotty do crafts

Willow is having her Hot Chocolate just before bed, she certainly needs it in this cold snap we are having. Willow is a Whiff of Joy stamp as is the Pillow, they have both been coloured with distress inks, I stamped the bow on the cushion twice and 3d the second image. The delish papers are BG, although you cannot see on the photos I have used glamour dust on all th swirls, looks really sparkly IRL. I cut the corners with a Sizzix Die on the CB then glittered them and added Crystals by Swratzs (cannot spell it but you know what I mean). I tried to get the idea of swirls trailing from the Prima flower with the crystals, and added some to her trousers, which I think was a mistake lol.

Two Cards 2 Challenges - The Secret Crafter & Ismaki

The Secret Crafter

has a great sketch this week and some brilliant DT cards to give us inspiration, so why not pop over there and join in.

Last night the terrible wind kept me awake, so after a week of no inspiration and no real desire to craft, I suddenly had the urge to make a couple of cards, so hopefully I am back to normal (or normal for me). The first card I made was for Secret Crafter, this is the first time I have entered this challenge but will not be the last, great sketch girls. My Christmas Sarah Kay stamps arrived fron Crafty Krafts on Saturday morning, and I fell in love with this one. It has been colourd with Distress Inks and H20's with glitter added on the little boys surpluses and around the candles. The papers are BG. The Corner and swirl were cut with Cuttlebug using Sizzix dies, The Sentiment is from WOJ and the flowers from Poppicraft. The little parcels are a Forever Friends Stamp which I paper pieced. I used my Martha Stewart Doyley punch for the first time. Hope you like.

This second card is for
Ismaki
it is ages since I entered an Ismaki Challenge. This cute image is a High Hopes stamp and has also been coloured with Distress Inks and H20's, with added glitter, the fabulous papers are My Minds Eye, I just adore the new Christmas range of these papers. Snowflakes were punched with a Fiskars Punch, with flattened bead caps and half pearls in the centre. The flowers are Prima fron Crafts U Love. Rest from Stash. May be back later with a few more cards I have on the go. Have a great Sunday everyone and thanks for looking

Dracula Max - Spoonful of Sugar

Halloween
is the theme this week on A Spoonful of Sugar and my Fellow DT members have come up with some scary creations to give you inspiration so click HERE to view them and join in the challenge
We have a fabulous prize this week of the cute High Hopes stamp "First Ride". This has very kindly been donated by Bryony from Silly Monkey Crafts. Silly Monkey crafts have some great new products in stock including Pink Magnolia stamps.

Can anyone let me know if there is a secret to taking good photos of red cards, they never seem to show the real colours and my poor little Dracula Max looks quite washed out. He is lovely and bright IRL, he is one of Janets great stamps at Spiral Whisper and has been coloured with Copics, I added glaze to the little pumpkin and some glitter to his lace colour and cuffs. The Ovals have been cut with Nesties, I run pearlised red card through the skull folder on th CB. The bats were cut and embossed with a CB folder and Die and the Boo was cut on the cricut. I added red Stickles to the bats eyes which dosn't show up but looks quite scary IRL, the Spider charm and black ribbon are from stash.
Update thanks so much Jo she took my pictures and "mucked around" with them, they now look much better.

The Night before Christmas - Penny Black Challenge

Morning everyone, still trying to tidy up, isn't it strange when you start a small job it turns into a VERY large job, have ordered some new storeage for my little bits and bobs so hoping that will come today.
Well its time for Penny Black Saturday Challenge this week the challenge is to make an ATC, and we have some great stickers on offer to one lucky winner. Don't forget to make your way over to the challenge blog to see the fab ATCs made by my fellow DT's. We had a great response last week so hope to see you all back this week.

Sometimes ATC's take as long to make as a card, but I did enjoy making this one, the background paper is from a Forever Friends Paper Pack, I stamped SU sentiment randomly over this then wrapped metallic thread around it. The cute little chrissy mice are coloured with Copic markers with Glamour dust and a little Flowersoft added, then cut out and 3d on to the base with Pinflair gel. The ribbon and brad are from Poppicrafts great christmas range.
I must apologise again for the quality of this photo may try to get a better one later.

Baby Love - Papertake Weekly

Another lovely sketch this week from the lovely and talented Katharina on Papertake Weekly Challenge. There are some great DT cards on the challenge site to give us a start so click HERE to check it out.

Another very quick card from me today I am afraid, I am trying to tidy up the storage on my computer and then I need to dig out all my christmas craft bits, how do we manage to accumulate so much stuff, the trouble is I cannot throw anything out as I am sure someday I will find a use for it.
This is a new High Hopes stamp that arrived earlier this week and I couldn't wait to use it. It didn't need much colouring but the little there is was done with Distress Inks, I added Glamour Dust to the star and also round the edge of the nestie oval. The DP are my new favs by My Minds Eye. The sentiment from SU and flowers are Prima (from Crafts u Love) rest is from stash.
Must Dash!!!!!!
