London 2012

Morning peeps, after an early night I was up at 5.30 this morning so thought I would put my time to good use and make some cards.  This week on J & C Creations Blog we are celebrating London 2012 with the brilliant Penny Black Stamp releases Love London and London 2012 available from J & C Creations .  So my first card this morning was from this collection, I will upload it to the J & C Creations blog later this week.  But please pop over there today to see a fabulous Invitation to a Street Party by our DT member Sharon.

This image is a wood-mounted stamp and is called Miniful, fabulous isn’t it.  The scrumptious topical papers are from Nitwits Collections, some really great designs in this collection.  I have kept the card quite plain just added the Die-Namics Star Die.

Rain Rain Go Away

What is happening to the weather, the minute they announce a drought the heavens open.  Further down the village the roads are flooded and its a trial to get through.  I looked like a drowned rat when I got in late last night thank goodness I don’t have to go out today.

Anyway thats enough of that, I had a fabulous time in Wales at Dandie Crafts, Mandy and Debbie were the perfect hosts and the ladies who attended the demonstrations were all so friendly and soaked up everything I could teach them, I think they went home a happy band of Crafters.  Thanks Mandy and Debbie cannot wait to make a return visit.

Have a lot to catch up on today (mountains of ironing and cleaning), but managed to make a quick card this morning.  I bought lots of Gorjuss Girl stamps from The Hobby House when at the NEC and have not had time to ink them up until now, this little darling was just perfect for today, I am looking it the image now and wish I had added some raindrops before I mounted her up Sad smile

Quite a plain card today but i think there are just enough embellies on there, the lovely filigree corner and roses are from The Hobby House, the swirls and  seam binding  are from The Ribbon Girl.   The paper is by Fabscraps and is available at J & C Creations.

Off to Cardiff

Another scheduled post from me today,  I am off to Cardiff until Saturday Evening.  Getting really excited at meeting Mandy Taylor again and have been promised Dinner at Ben and Gerrys  WooHoo!!!!

JM1

This is my card for the Just Magnolia & hAnglar and stAnglar Challenge where the Theme is Button & Bows.  I had to make this card in a real rush, sometimes those rushed cards turn out really well in fact better than those that have been planned and taken hours, (I love it when that happens), but then like this one they just don’t hit the spot.   So I will not spend much time explaining how I put this card together just give you a list of products used.

The images are coloured with Copics, papers by Magnolia, Lace , Button and Ribbon from The Ribbon Girl and Flowers from The Hobby House.

Can you tell I am just not happy with it

Yesterday at Crafts U Love

Morning all, had a great day yesterday at Crafts U Love, was teaching 2 classes our theme this month was Colouring with Copics and Layering. We made this pink card in the morning and a Blue card in the afternoon, they copied my complete card in the morning session then the afternoon I asked them to arrange the layers and die-cuts I had already prepared for them to their own design.  I hope everyone went home happy with their makes from the smiles on their faces I think they did.

CUL1

This is the card and Image we coloured and made up, it is very similar to a card I made the other week it has lots of layers on it so I thought it would make a good lesson.  I have used Magnolia Tilda with Ballet ShoesCheery Lynn English Tea PartyDoily Die, Doo Hickey Swirl and Blooming Tag, Magnolia Papers 6 x 6 Blooming Hearts and Eau de Cologne,  The Roses are cut with Creatabilities Bitty Blossoms and Spiral Blossom 1 all available from Crafts U Love.  The sentiment stamp is by Stempleglede.

A few pictures from the Morning Lesson, with some of the finished Projects.

I would of liked to show you all the finished samples but some of the ladies were not keen on having their photos taken.

A touch of Steam Punk

This is a scheduled post so I hope it comes up.   Today being Wednesday it that means its time for  Simons Says Stamp Challenge  again, The theme this week is Anything goes, and I have taken that literally and had a go at a bit of Steam Punch.

004

I spent a lot of time on altering things that are not even seen on here but boy did I love getting mucky, Firstly I run the base card through a Darice Embossing Folder , then sprayed it with Cafe au Lait, Olive Green and Gold Glimmer mist, them I used a Spellbinder nestie to cut out the image mat, distressed with Walnut Stain Distress Ink, then tore and distressed with the same ink a piece of Bo-Bunny Timepiece collection Backing paper.  Before assembling the card I tapped some Stampendous Aged Ivory embossing enamel along the bottom edge of the card and heat embossed until melted.

The Stamp is also from the Bo-Bunny Time Piece  stamp set, the Seam binding was dyed with the same three Glimmer mists as the card.  The metal embellishments are all from the Tim Holtzs Idea-ology range.  Can you spot the deliberate mistake (I took the picture before my glue had dried.)  Wold you believe all these products are from Simon Says Stamp.

And don’t forget as usual Heidi has donated a $50 Dollar Gift voucher to spend on the website.

Just Swinging By

Morning all,  a couple of cards to share with you today, not too much blurb, I have 2 classes tomorrow at Crafts U Love and have got to get the final prep done this morning and I am off to do a demo in Cardiff at the weekend so I might as well prep for that at the same time.

First I have another card from the Crafters Companion,s latest release A Year with Humphrey, this is the little Lottie “Swinging By”  stamp.

swing2

The image has been coloured with Spectrum Noirs and stamped with memento Ink on Neenah Classic Card, the subtle backing paper is from the Humphreys Corner Crafting Collection CDThe roses have been made from the same backing paper with the Spellbinders Bitty Blossoms Die.

 swing

My next card is another experimental one playing with Spellbinders Dies, although this one is very plain and I was not going to use it for a post I thought it would be good to share my experimental journey with you from the beginning.  I am having a great time combining 2 completely different types of crafting in a day, I felt I was getting stale and bored but this last week I have re-discovered why I took up crafting.

JC2

I bought some new Spellbinders dies at Ally Pally, they were still in their packaging so I thought it was time I took them out and had a play, The Bitty Blossoms rose was layer onto a Little doily from The Moroccan Accents set, and the larger doily behind is an Older die I think it is called Snowflake, the Sentiment is stamped onto a Label die from Parisian Accents all have been edged with Spun Sugar Distress Ink.

The Corner Stamps and sentiment are from various Stempleglede stamp sets.

The distressed papers are by FabScraps and will be available from the J & C Creations website later this week, I have used Stampendous Frantage Pearlised Mica Fragments, and Lavender Crushed Glitter Glass on the centre border.  I am pleased to tell you that the Stampendous Frantage products (as shown on Create and Craft) should be available on the  J & C Creations website from tomorrow.

Experimenting and Some Exciting News

Afternoon, did you see the Humphrey Launch Show, I must say I think my DT friends have really outdone themselves with their stunning samples, did you see the fantastic Products made for Crafters Companion by Hunkeydory, now as you know I am basically a stamper but I am going to buy these kits for my quick cards, The Cds, Stamps and Hunkeydory products are now available on The Crafters Companion website here.

Now for something completely different, this is a card I made after my visit to J & C Creations, as I have said before I have been looking for a change from cute (I will never give up cute so don’t worry) somedays I just feel stale and think I would like to try something else, well I have found it.

I am so lucky  Jenny from J & C Creations has now asked me to work for her Wow I was so excited and proud to be asked as you can imagine, I will be running the Design Team, Setting up a new Challenge Blog (More about that in May), and helping to keep the blogs up to date.  I am so excited and got started straight away, fortunately this job does not clash with any other Design Teams I am on as the products they sell are so completely different.  The J&C Website is being updated this week so I cannot link back any of the products on this card but we will be up and running by Next weekend.

Butter3

I have used Co-ordinations card as the base of this card, Crafters Companion have a complete range of this awesome card on their website.  I have also used Pearls and a Pearl Swirl from The Hobby House

The rest of the Stamps, Dies and Glitters are from J & C Creations, if you would like to know exactly what was used on here please pop over to the J & C Creations Blog, where I have listed all the products and more pictures

Thanks for looking

Once again the papers are from the Humphreys Corner Crafting Collection CD as is the little stamping tag tucked behind the image. I have tried a bit of patchwork with the design papers this time, will try this again as I am pleased with the results.  The little tag hanging down from the ribbon also uses a stamp from the Roses are Red stamp sheet.

The image has been coloured with Spectrum Noirs  on Neenah Classic Card

Lilis Little Fairies Challenge

Back again this time with something a little bit different, yesterday Lin and I found a wonderful craft heaven really near to home,  I meet the lovely Denise and Jenny from J & C Creations at the CHA and we found out we all lived near each other, Jenny invited me to give her a ring and make arrangements to visit their warehouse once I got home, I have been so busy since we got back that it was not until last weekend that I managed to make arrangements to visit.    Wow!!!!!!!!! that place is an Aladdins Cave full of wonderful and unusual Goodies, well as you can guess my Stash Diet flew out of the window I was like a child in a sweetshop.  We also met 2 amazing crafters  I am sure lots of you have seen and admired their work at shows,  Julie Tidey and Lisa Baker,  who despite getting ready for  shows at Edinburgh and Newcastle  and being really busy spent time showing Lin and I lots of new techniques and ideas, thank you both girls, we both came away inspired and ready to try new techniques.  J & C Ctreations have an open day at their Premises in Maidstone at the  beginning of each month but of course the website is open 24/7.  We had such a good time and it was the lift we both needed we were so excited in the car coming home that to Lins despair I even started singing, if you have heard my voice you will understand how Lin felt.

llfjc

Right down to this weeks card for the Lilis Little Fairies Challenge, which this week is Diamond and Pearls, when we got home last night I scrapped my original card for the Challenge and decided to try my hand at some of the new techniques we had learnt, as you can see I have a long way to go, a bit too much glitter on the flower for instance, but as a first effort I am quite pleased with it.  Most of the Products were from my purchases.

The image is the Lili of the Valley Filigree Heart stamp from their latest release, I have coloured it with Copics on Neenah Classic Card, The papers are  by FabScrapes, ohhhh they are lush.  I have made the border down the sides with Aged Rose Embossing Enamel, and Lavender Crushed Glass Glitter,  The simple White Flowers have been coloured with Copics and I have added (a little too much) Silver Halo Mix Glitter,  These products are so new they have not been uploaded to the website yet but will be in the next few weeks, but they will be available at the Shows.

The Pearl Swirls are from The Hobby House

Hope you have liked looking at my foray into a different type of crafting.

My first sneak peeks has used one of the new Stamps, and paper from the original Humphreys Corner Crafting Collection CD, isn’t that Duck just the sweetest.  I have stamped and coloured the image on Neenah Classic Card and Spectrum Noirs, I have tried to keep my samples quite simple for this release I want to draw your attention to the fantastic Images rather than the embellies.

Hello

The Spectrum Noir colours used:

Greys: IG2, IG1

Oranges: OR3, OR2, OR1

Had a fantastic 2 days at Alexandra Palace, meet lots of friends and made many new ones, what made it even better was the interest and excitement shown by visitors to the Spectrum Noir Colouring System.  It is so good when a demonstrator has products they believe in to work with, and it also helps when they generate excitement and  most of all are affordable.
