Magnolia Vs Stampavie - A Gift Make

It’s now the Run-down after Christmas and you are all starting to relax,

How about a Gift Make?

Make a Handmade Gift, Perhaps you want to send more than a just a Thank you Card to somebody? Or Possibly have a last minute Christmas Gift to give to somebody who you haven’t seen yet? Maybe like myself have a birthday to prepare for and want to make that extra special Gift from the heart? Perhaps you got a last minute Christmas Gift to make, for somebody you may not of had a chance to see over the Festive times?

Whatever the Reason, Make us a Gift and enjoy the Challenge.
We have a great prize on offer for one lucky person two of the fabulous cute stamps from
Pollycraft

Another late posting from me, I have been to visit No.3 Son James and his wife and of course Robert and Ben, I need a regular Grandson Fix, I am absolutely pooped they have had me playing on the Wii, I can assure you I am the least athletic peson there is, but I have really enjoyed myself and feel better for the exercise.

I have made this little bathtime gift set for one of the carers who helps me with Mum it is her birthday in a couple of days. I love this new Lelo stamp from Stampavie and she does look as if she is really enjoying her bath, she has been coloured with Copics and I have added glitter to the water and bubbles. I had no template for the box so I used the Crafters Companion Ultimate board for the base and Lid and Measured and scored the acetate on the Scorpal, it worked out OK. The papers I used for the base and lid is Little Yellow Bicycle. Rest from stash.

Thanks for all your encouragement with the No Smoking, I am pleased to say there are a few of us out there getting together for support and I think we are starting as from tomorrow.

Thanks for looking

HERE

Morning Everyone, before I start on the blurb about my cards, I am after some help and support, after giving up smoking for 9 months I started again and am now finding it even harder to give up this time, is there anyone out there who would like to join me in trying to give up, it is so much easier when doing it with someone else, perhaps we could visit each other every other day to offer support to each other, anyone interested just leave a comment. Thanks

Right now down to the serious business, This is my first, but I am sure not last, Valentines card for this year, I think this lovely PB Stamp is just perfect for Valentines Day and is also so easy to colour, I have used my copics again on this one. The papers are DCWV (you are going to be seeing a lot of these in the future, I just adore them they are so yummy, lovely quality and already glittered). The papers and image have all been matted onto Brown and Pink Base Card. Flowers and Brad from stash. I have been meaning to make a kick card every since I saw the fabulous examples by the lovely
Annie from Inknrubba, who I am sure you all know, thanks for the inspiration Annie.

I am really pleased with the inside of this one.

and here is the back.

DT CARD FOR WHIFF OF JOY

This card is a just because card, just because I cannot get enough of these wonderful cute little Critters by Alison Action from the Whiff of Joy Party Animals Collection. Don't forget there is a new collection from Elizabeth Bell to be released very soon by Whiff of Joy, check out Katharinas Blog on Sunday for a sneak peak. The new release will be available for Pre-Order from Monday 12th January, just click Here to go direct to the On-line Shop.

I have gone back to using Distress Inks and H20's for this smug little lamb. hope he is stepping carefully on those presents wouldn't want him to ruin them, I like Distress Inks for the softer look, (I am enjoying having the choice of colouring mediums though). More Papers from the DCWV Stack (I did warn you). I haven't used any embellies on this card as I think the Papers and the Cute image need to take centre stage. The Sentiment is computer generated.

Here is a closer view for those who like to see the colouring.

I have used another of the great stamps from the Party Animals Collection for the inside of the card this has again been coloured with Distress Inks. I have left the message page quite simple this time. The sentiment is by PB.

Before I go I have another question, has anyone tried the new Tim Holts Crackle Paints yet, if so what do you think of them, I am really tempted to get some but would appreciate some feedback before I do, as I have well overspent already this year

Have a Great Weekend everyone.

Moggi's Thank You and Elven Greetings

Pollycraft Challenge - Doodles

Hi everyone hope you are having a good day. My laptop nearly went out of the window last night, I was trying to upload the photos to Lily of The Valley Challenge and also Donnas Fab Candy, but would Mr Blogger let me NO!!!! :(. I thought it was just me, but no it was worldwide). Anyway he is back in his best behaviour today so here are my two cards a little late but never mind.

My first card is for Pollycraft Challenge, now I doodle all the time when I am on the phone but I only draw stairs and boxes (does that say anything about me I wonder), a mind doctor would have great fun doing psycho-analysis on me. I did try to doodle some swirls honest but my 3 year old GS could have done better, so I am afraid I have just done same faux stitching hope it counts.

OMG I am very verbal today :) This lovely Pollycraft Winter elf has been coloured with Copics, I have matted all the Dp's (which are by DCVW) onto pink card which has then been matted onto the pale green base card. I have also used Prima flowers and pink self adhesive pearls which were in a little package sent to me by the lovely BEV thank you dear Mwah!!!

Still manageing to decorating the insides of my cards, aren't I good

Lili of the Valley Challenge - Anything Goes

Lili of the valley Challenge is back from its Christmas break and we are asking you to create ANYTHING there is no theme this week, let us see whatever your Mojo dictates. The DT have produced some great examples to get you started and there is a great prize on offer as well
- A Complete OLIVER Diecut and Designer Paper Pack -
To see this great prize donated by the very generous Lisa from
Lili of the Valley just click HERE

I will keep this really short as I have to go and make Mums lunch, I have used the cute LOTV Moggi with flowers stamp for this thank you card, she has been coloured with copics then cut with the new Nesties Label set. The papers are PP doodle-icius, and have been punched with the MSDP, flowers from stash, Ribbon from Poppicrafts and round sentiment from SU

Here is the inside of the card, the little charm says meaow

Thanks for looking and have a good day

Good Luck and Pretty in Pink

Whiff of Joy Challenge - Sketch by Heather

Welcome back to Whiff of Joy Challenge. Our first challenge for 2009 is a lovely sketch by our own clever Heather.

We have a very special prize for the winner this week we have one of the new Whiff of Joy releases for you as a prize. The very generous Tab from 7 Kids College Fund has generously donated the
Whiff of Joy Mouse under the hat stamp designed by Alison Acton.

If your Mojo is finding it slow to kick in after the long holiday why not pop over and see the fab cards created by my fellow DT members, just click
Here

I have been wondering why I wasn't quite happy with this card, it has just come to me I don't like the brad in the corner by the Shamrock leaves, it is too close, but I cannot do anything about it now, I hate not being happy with my cards!!!. Anyway to get on this is the first time I have inked up the Whiff of Joy - Good Luck Charlie, don't know why it took me so long, he is so easy to colour and such a fun image. He has been coloured with Copics and I have added the matching WOJ sentiment. The papers are Basic Grey, and the edge has been punched with MSDP. I have stamped the WOJ Shamrock Accessory stamp a number of times then coloured with copics and cut out. The brads are from Poppicrafts.

A closer view of this little cheeky Charlie

For the inside of the card, I stamped and coloured another Good Luck Charlie and punched him with a fiskars scalloped punch, then matted hin on two labels cut with Nesties, and punched the edges with MSDP again. The sentiment is computer generated and I have stamped cut and coloured another couple of Shamrocks.

Stamping with Stampavie

We have another fabulous Sketch on Stamping with Stampavie for you this week, you will really enjoy this one. If you would like to come and join us and also see my Fellow DTs fantastic cards just click HERE

This sketch looked really daunting when I first saw it but I can honestly say I really enjoyed working with it and am so pleased with the results. Although I must apologise I have smudged the frill on her dress and I didn't notice until I had made up the card. I have gone back to my favourite Distress Inks for this sweet stamp, I think they are great for Sarah Kays images. The papers are all Basic Grey and I think they are scrumptious. The ovals have been cut with Oval Nesties and the two hearts are cut with a Sizzix Original Die. The rest is from stash.

I have carried the paper onto the inside, and have used Stempelglede Grunge Retro stamps on the message card, I have left this blank until I know what I will use this card for.

Thanks for looking and I hope you all have a great day, and hope it is not too cold where you are. I am freezing Brrrrrrrr!!!!

Can you believe it is already 12th Night, where does the time go, I am a bit late posting today as I always leave taking down the tree and decorations until 12th Night and although I started early this morning it has taken all this time, I really hate putting them all away.

Nikkis sketch this week is nice and simple but very effective, I have used my lovely Elizabeth Bell stamp again, cannot get enough of these fabulous stamps, she has been coloured with Copics. I have coloured the flowers (which were white) with the same copics, (thanks Rach for the hint, I am dropping big hints to the boys that I would love a copics Air Brush System for my birthday next month). The Dp is Daisy Bucket and hardware from Poppicrafts. The lovely Lilac and White ribbon was a present from the very generous Donalda, thanks hun.

Another close up view of the image.

Still decorating the insides and backs of my cards but keep forgetting to take pictures of the back. The papers are the scraps from the front, sentiment is by Penny Black and charm is from the lovely Rach.

A New Challenge and An Award

Whilst trawling the blog I came across this fabulous Challenge it is on a blog called
Stampartic Online Magazine, the site is full of great tips and inspiration and interviews with some really talented cardmakers and stampers. Although it is a Scandanavian Blog they have kindly translated it into English. They run three challenges a month, this is the First for January, there will be another on the 10th and one on the 20th January, it is a fantastic Sketch, with a tutorial on a special fold card. Please pop over and see the fantastic work by the DT you will certainly not be disappointed.

I felt a bit cheeky joining this challenge as you know what wonderful work the Scandanavian girls produce, but nothing ventured nothing gained. Then the rest of my DT Stamps from Whiff of Joy popped through the letter box and that clinched it. Hope you like my effort.

I have used 3 of the new Whiff of Joy Party Animals Collection, which were relased on 3rd January. Henry Celebrating Mouse, Presents and the Cute Little Mouse under Party Hat. They have all been coloured with Distress Inks and H20's.

The papers are Imaginise and are already glittered although this dosen't show very well in the photos. The small round sentiment is from SU, I cannot remember where I got the Large Circle Sentiment from, opps!!, the sentiment on the white card is from Whiff of Joy. The Swirls were cut with Home Accents cartridge on the Cricut, all the rest from stash.

I love the different ways this card can be viewed and I am sure I will be using this template again.

A FABULOUS AND SPECIAL AWARD

I have been given this fantastic award by my awesome, talented, kind hearted and special friend Bev, I am so honoured and touched to have received this from someone I admire so much especially as it can only be given to one person. Thank you from the bottom of my heart dear and one day I hope I will be up there with you and Rach!!!!!

"The award should be distributed with care.Everybody who's getting the award, should give it forward to only one person, whom you think he/she is doing great work. It doesn't matter if you like the creative style, or the coloration, or the imagination........Please link the person from whom you've got the award and the person you'll forward it.I wish you a lot of fun"

Now I need to try and pick just one person that inspires me and this is so hard!!! There are so many talented people out there that all deserve this award but as I can only pass this on to one special person I am going to pass it on to ......

Donalda

She is one of the most special people in Blog-land, not only do I admire her fabulous work and use her amazing sketches time after time, but she has the biggest heart and always gives encouragement and kind words to everyone she visits, she is a very dear and special friend. Enjoy dear xx

Sugar Bowl Challenge and Magnolia vs Stampavie Challenge

Sugar Bowl Challenge - Friendship

What a great start to 2009 a brand new challenge blog - Sugar Bowl Challenge - especially for lovers of Sugar Nellie Stamps, now those who know me know I am totally addicted to these great stamps so just couldn't resist this one. The rules for joining in the challenge are posted on the side bar of The Challenge Blog, make sure you read them carefully. The Design team have created some great cards to give us inspiration so just click Here and pop over there, you will also see the FANTASTIC candy to be won by 1 lucky person 3 Sets of COPICS can you believe it!!!!!

The first challenge is an amazing sketch by Tiets, thanks for sketch Teits I shall use it again and again. The papers used on this card are a mixture of Basic Grey and DaisyD's they have all been matted onto Red Card. The cute Elizabeth Bell Stamp has been coloured with Copics, sentiment is from Autumn Leaves. The rest from stash.

I have managed to keep up my promise to decorate the inside and back of my cards (don't know how long this will last)I have used off cuts from the DaisyD's paper and punched two borders with the MSDP, and have used Nesties Labels to cut the white card which has been stamped with a Penny Black Sentiment Stamp, I have also cut two more labels for the other side of the card and added a couple of Prima Flowers. I forgot to take a pitcure of the back of the Card, Oppps!!

Magnolia vs Stampavie - A Thank You Card

Welcome to the first challenge for 2009 on Magnolia vs Stampavie, Donna has provided us with a sketch for this challenge which must be made into Thank you Card. There are some really nspirational cards by my fellow DT Members on the blog and also a brilliant prize for one lucky person this week. Dew Drop Crafts have donated a cute fairy stamp so come on pop over and have a go.

Tilda has a new hairstyle for 2009, I am sure Edwin will think she looks beautiful, she is a stamp from the new Valentines Release. The papers I have used are from Cosmo Cricket, I just love their designs. Tilda has been coloured with Copics and attached to the papers with sticky pads. The ribbon is from imaginice. The Thank You sentiment was cut on the Cricut and then glittered. Flowers from stash.

I used left over scraps from the 12 x 12 paper for the inside, using two different styles of Nesties. All the edges have been distressed with Worn Lipstick Distress Inks, I have left the white card blank to add a sentiment later. I also used the MSDP on the bottom of the large piece of Cosmo Cricket Paper.

And finally the back was made by using more scraps and My Handmade By stamp, I could not find my round nesties and the punch was just a little small for this image so it is not as good as it should be. OMG what a long post ARE YOU STILL HERE!!!!!! if you are

WOJ POM and Penny Black Saturday Challenge

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL

It seems like an age since I went AWOL, but I am back now with 2 projects for you. The Pick of the Month project set by Katharina for the Whiff of Joy DT this month was a to make a chocolate wrapper, gift bag or box, you must go and check out the fabulous creations from my fellow DT members on the Whiff of Joy Inspiration Gallery.

I have made 2 pillow boxes filled with Mums Favourite Chocolates which I gave her on New Years Eve. The template and papers for the box are from the Cute Companions CD available from Crafters Companion, I thought the ballons on the paper matched the fabulous new Whiff of Joy Celebration Donkey stamp designed by Alison Acton that was released today. Desmond (The Donkey) has been coloured with Distress Inks and H20's and cut out with Nesties new Label Dies. The lovely lush ribbon is from Raspberry Ribbons.

There are 5 more cute animals in this collection and also a set of sentients designed by Katharina so don't forget to order yours today.

PENNY BLACK SATURDAY CHALLENGE - EMBOSSING

I hope you have all had a great holiday season with lots of good food, and plenty of rest and are now ready to start crafting in earnest. An easy challenge to ease you back into the New Year, Embossing, we have a great prize this week from our sponsors PollyCraft, and my fellow DT members have come up with some great ideas to get you inspired. Just click
Here to go to the Challenge Site, looking forward to seeing your creations.

This is the first time I have used this stamp although I have had it for quite a while. It has been coloured with Copics and has been mounted on Green and Red Card. I am not sure who makes the paper as it was a spare 12 x 6 piece I had in my box, the Green Basic Grey paper has been embossed with the Cuttlebug Flower Embossing Border folder and has been rubbed over with distress ink, I have used an ash leave punch behind the prima flowers. Following some of my favourite crafters example, I have decided to make my New Years Resolution to decorate the inside of my cards (don't know how long this will last). The sentiment is another Penny Black Stamp.
