Two for One and another SP

Just Magnolia Challenge

As always, Simon Says Stamp is sponsoring our special monthly challenge to the tune of a fab $25 voucher for you to spend in their store, and Heidi even pays the shipping!!

Now, because this is a special challenge with an extra special prize the theme is a bit more challenging but we know you can all do it! This month the challenge is PAPER PLEATING. MinaMina done a fabulous tutorial for you to follow just click Here to go the tutorial. The DT have also followed the tutorial and have come up trumps with some amazing cards. Just remember to be in the draw for the prize you MUST use a Magnolia stamp.

I must say a big thank you to Mina her tutorial was so straight forward and easy to follow and it was something I have wanted to try for ages. I got carried away and made 2 cards, (same Image) and then couldn't decide which one I like the best so I will show you both of them.

Both images have been coloured with Distress Inks, the Brown and Pink card uses Magnola Papers and the all pink card is made from half a sheet of paper I found when tiding up, must do this more often as I really do find little treasures I forget I have!!!

The fabulous flowers, which have all been spritzed with Pearl Glimmer Mist, are from Wild Orchid Crafts, I have added crystal beads to one of the lovely Hat Pins I got from Whiff of Joy, Lace is from Tabby Crafts.

I promised you another sneak peek of the Spring release stamp collection from Lili of the Valley, which will be released at the end of the month. This awesome image if just called "Bridal Couple"

I have used Copics and Prismas to colour the image, The Chipboard heart has been spritzed with Sweet Pea Glimmer Mist then sprayed again with Pearl. The flowers are again from Wild Orchid Crafts. A Martha Stewart Border Punch from The Hobby House has been used on the darker paper, the papers are by Kaisercraft, they are from last years Valentines collection. The Mr and Mrs sentiment is from Whiff of Joy

A Thank You and A Sneak Peek

Lili of the Valley Challenge

We are back with a new challenge on Lili of the Valley and we hope it is a challenge to help you with your after Christmas chores, we would like you to create a THANK YOU CARD, there are some super creations by the DT faeries on the blog and also some news from Lili of the Valey so we do hope you can come and join us.

Remember you do not have to use LOTV products and we are happy for you to combine challenges.

I have used a Lili of the Valley Fairy on this card and have coloured here with Copics and Prisma Pencils. I have been putting all my Xmas DPs away today and also tiding up my DP drawers so have found lots of papers that haven't been used for ages, these are Basic Grey, I have punched the flowers from the same papers and used the MS Daisy Border Punch again. The sentiment is a SU stamp.

Stamp Something Challenge

The theme this week on Stamp Something Challenge is Something New, well this card qualifies twice, it is a Brand New Image and a New baby Card, the lovely stamp will soon to be available from Lili of the Valley as part of their Spring Collection, the expected date of release is 22nd January but with all this snow it may be delayed a little, The LOTV DT will keep you updated on this, check the Lili of the Valley Website from next week to see more details and hopefully peeks of all the images, these include Babies, Weddings, Bunny, Bears and Children.

I have used Copics and Prismas again on this card and also some more papers I found I think they are Daisy Bucket, the Baby sentiment was cut on the Cricut and I have added glamour mist to it. I have followed one of the lovely DawnyP's sketches thanks sweetie its a great sketch.

Well my wish has been granted and we have some snow at last, I bet I will be cursing it in a couple of days!!!!

Whiff of Joy and Wags'nWhiskers

Whiff of Joy Challenge

We are back again after our Christmas Break, thank you everyone who took time out in their busy time to join us in our last challenge hope you join us again this week because we have a fabulous challenge for you, its a colour combo for you RED and AQUA yummy. Please pop over and see the fantastic cards from my fellow DT members and to learn more about the challenge.

I know Bev uses these colours together a lot and I always admire the cards she creates with them, but it is not a colour scheme I use myself, but I will from now on I really loved making this card (not often you hear me say that). I do not have any Aqua and Red papers so I had to use red card, which was punched with MS deep edge punch. What a useful stamp this is going to be, I can think of lots of uses for it, although it is called Willow writing recipes, she could also be writing her diary or just reading (now thats versatile!). Anyway enough eulogising (big word), the image has been coloured with Distress Inks.

The fabulous flowers are again from Wild Orchid craft and the bling flourish is by Prima the ribbon is another reel of Christmas Wrapping ribbon from M&S.

Wags'n Whiskers Challenge

The return of another Challenge now, we are asking you to make a valentines card this time but there is a catch NO RED, please click Here to find out more and see the fabulous cards created by the WnW Divas, you will also find a link there to enable you to purchase these fabulous stamps.

Another Easel Card from me (sorry), using the fabulous "He Loves Me" image, again it has been coloured with Distress Inks (ohhhh I cannot wait for the new colours I am getting so impatient).

The Heart and Heart tag images are both from Magnolia and have also been coloured with DI and have been sprinkled with Glimmer Mist, the Sentiment if from Penny Black.

The flowers are again from Wild Orchid Crafts, the papers are Basic Grey don't know what pad as the cover is missing!!!, and of course its a valentines card so MS Heart Punch had to come out again.

We are under a blanket of snow in the UK, although in my little corner of Kent we don't have that much, so I would just like to say if you are going out please be careful and make sure you wrap up warm (sorry cannot stop being a Mum!!!!).

I have stamped her 3 times and used Copics to colour the image then cut out and 3d her. There is lots of the obligatory Glimmer Mist sprinkled around!!!!. of course my favourite MS Heart Border Punch just had to be used (it would have been remiss of me not to).

The Fabulous flowers are as ever from Wild Orchid Crafts, Pearl Hat Pins are from The Hobby House.

Dreaming of Summer

Magnolia-licious Challenge

Hope you all had a good New Year and Xmas Holiday shame it has to end I expect lots of you are back to work today. I have just looked out of the window and have seen we have a covering of snow so maybe some of you will be unable to get to work :).

This is the first time I have joined the Magnolia-licious Challenge, but I just couldn't resist the theme it was to make a frame card and inspired by the uber talented Claudia Rosa, she has a fabulous tutorial on her blog on making this great style of card, you can find the tutorial Here.

Well with all this snow and Ice Cold weather I thought it was time I bought you some sunshine, so her is Tilda enjoying her Summer Hols at the Seaside. The Background Stamp and Sailor Tilda where released this Summer, I have only used them both once before, too many stamps not enough time :(. The images have been coloured with distress inks. I have had a couple of goes at colouring Tilda with Copics but I just think she looks best with the DI's.

The Paper is by Magnolia and just seemed to fir this image to perfection, I have used another of my new Martha Stewart Border Punches to edge the frame.

The Flowers are as usual from Wild Orchid Crafts.

It is my dear Grandson Ben's 5th birthday tomorrow and as he is a big fan of Mario Cart I thought this fabulous little boy stamp from Lili of the Valley would suit him down to the ground.

I have used Copics and Prismas to colour the image, the papers are Basic Grey, it is so hard to make a card with no embellies, but I know he would not be impressed with flowers and ribbons I can just here him go URGHHHHHH!!!!!

Goodbye 2009 and hello 2010

Review of 2009

I blame this post and the amount of time I have spent trying to pull it together on the lovely Debby from A Scrap Journey, she challenged us to show our 12 favourite cards of 2009. I didn't realise how much trawling through my blog this would take and the decision of which cards to choose was almost impossible. So what I have gone for is a selection of different images from stamp companies I love, they are not always my favourite card of the month but I just thought they would give an all round selection of my creations and styles.

Cheers!!!!!!

Penny Black Saturday Challenge

I have so missed making cards for PBSC, I just love using these stamps. Our challenge this week is "HAPPY NEW YEAR" looking forward to seeing all your great creations, as usual my fellow design team members have created stunning cards to get you going, so please pop over to the Challenge Blog and join us.

I haven't used this stamp for ages but I think it fits this challenge perfectly, I have used Distress Inks to colour it and as it is such a large image tried to keep it simple. (Sorry I have made another Easel Card just cannot get enough of them).

The Large Gold Ribbon is Christmas Wrapping Ribbon from Marks and Spencers which was Half Price on Monday so got 4 reels, the Moss Green ribbon is from stash. Papers are Magnolia and sentiment has again been computer generated and cut out with Nesties Fancy Tags Die.

I was asked by my neighbour to make a birthday card for his wife, as her birthday is so near Xmas I think this Christmas Tilda would fit the bill (another of the Christmas stamps I hope to use all year J).

The Frilly Heart stamp is from the Magnolia Winter Club Kit, I must say although I am disappointed with the Tilda images the accessory stamps are beautiful, I have coloured Tilda and the Heart with Distress Inks and added plenty of stickles. The paper is also by Magnolia. The flowers are from Prima and brads pearls etc are from the Hobby House.

Should be home later today (if I am not snowed in) so will have lots of blog hopping to catch up on.

Happy New Year to You All

Simon Says Stamp Challenge, Stamp with Fun, Everybody Art

I am hoping this has been posted whilst I am still tucked up in bed after last nights New Years Eve Party at my sons, I don't drink so no Hang over but I am sure I will be tired. Well time to welcome 2010, I hope this year brings you all you would wish for yourselves.

This card I hope fits 3 challenges Stamp with Fun,Everybody Art and The Challenge on Simon Says Stamp is Lets Party!! well I think Tilda is definitely in a party mood sitting on her glass of Champagne. I still find it hard to imagine Tilda as a young lady she will always be little girl to me but I have to get over my prejudice so her she is in all her finery and High Heels!!!

The images have been coloured with Distress Inks I mixed Milled Lavender and Weathered Wood to get the right shade for her dress. Have added lots of Glimmer Mist and Stickles.

The sentiment has been computer generated and I have added the little champagne glass from the Winter Kit . The Large Wine Glass is from Last Years Winter Kit and the papers are from Magnolia.

The Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and have been sprayed with Pearl Glimmer Mist, I wish you could see how they sparkle. I have added a few Pearls I bought from The Hobby House, Jill has lots and lots of different colours and sizes of these flat back pearls in stock I am afraid I spent too much on them as usual but it was so hard to choose just one. If you are interested here is the direct link to the Pearls

Have a good Bank Holiday, will be back tomorrow with my Penny Black Card
