swalk7

This is a colour scheme I have never used before but I like it, so may have to use it again.  The image and sentiment are from the same stamp sheet, its such a help having the sentiment with the image, saves all that hunting around for the right words.  The paper is again from the SWALK CD ROM volume 2, these papers are lush and so versatile.  I have used a Die set from Go-Create and used the Grand Calibur cut the card and base, the Seam Binding is from Wild Orchid Crafts and the flowers have been punched from the backing papers with the smallest Retro Flower Punch

Late again!!! I scheduled this post, supposed to be for Midnight last night, but I was so tired I actually typed in 12 midday, doh!!!! , but better late then never.  We have a fantastic sketch by our clever Dawny P for you this week on Lili of the Valley Challenge, I love Dawny’s sketches, and we are also sponsored by Andrea and Mary from The Ribbon Girl, oh!!!!!!! there is some delicious ribbon in the prize package.  We are also starting a Guest Design Team Spot for 4 weeks, this will run every month,  so lots of reasons to come and join us this week.

Have used Coffee Break stamp today, there are so many fabby stamps from Lili of the Valley now its hard to decide which one to use each week.  The Papers, which I think are perfect for this image, are from DCWV Sweet Pad,  Don’t faint no FLOWERS on here but I quite like the plain and simple look on this one, Dawny’s sketch , the papers and image don’t need any embellishment though.   Sorry the card looks a bit skew wiff.  I love the Teapot Charm, I am sure I got that from Whiff of JoyThe Seam Binding is from The Ribbon Girl.

The inside has been decorated to match the front and I have used another of my favourite sentiments stamps from Inkadinkado available from Dies to Die For.

Me and My Shadow

001a

I had this image coloured up waiting to make into a card, when I first got these Lovely Bildmalarna Stamps, then couldn’t find it, after my annual Spring Clean I found it in a drawer so made up this card last night.  I have used the Sketch from this weeks Friday Sketchers and the Theme from By The Cute and Girly Challenge which is Red is All Around us.

001

This image is from the New Bildmalarna Little Winged friends collection is called “On Walk”.  It is much darker than I usually colour my images but I liked the result.  The paper was found in my Christmas Paper Box but had no makers name on it.  The lovely doily circle behind is a  Die-Namics Die from Dies to Die For  and the flowers from Wild Orchid Craft as if you needed telling.

001e

I have decorated the inside of the card to compliment the front with the rest of the backing paper and a Heart cut with a Martha Stewart punch

inside

I think the Copics I used are as follows:
Flesh: E21, E00, E000, Bear E53, E51, E50, Dress R39, R39, R35, R24, Tights B95, B93, B91

Just for You

Swalk6a

Another Crafters Companion SWALK Sneak Peek not long now before you will be able to have these little darlings for yourselves, more news on the release on Friday

Swalk6

Isn’t she perfect for a Thank You Card who could resist those eyes.  I have used Copics to colour her.  Another Easel Card I can here you say,  Go-Kreate dies have been used for the shape and matting on this card (this set is Large Frilly Square 2), what did we do before we had the Grand Calibur to allow us to make such gorgeous shaped cards.

The paper on this card is from the SWALK 2 CD ROM, the flowers have been stamped with a little accessory stamp that comes on the same sheet as the figure and have been coloured with copics and cut out freehand, the sentiment is also from the Stamp Sheet.

Sorry for such a quick post have to take Rosie for her injections, then go to Canterbury shopping, what an exciting life I lead Smile

A Little Bit Windswept

4b

My First Simply Sassy Stamps from Funky Kits arrived today and of course as per normal had to have a play, this one is called Windswept, wish I looked so glamorous in all the wind we have had this week, I look like I have been pulled through a hedge backwards.  I have created a slanted easel card this time, quite like this style.  I think I am just in time to enter this for The Sugar Bowl Challenge which is a fabulous sketch.

use

I choose the colours for this one to match my new download from Nitwits Collection, “Tippy Toes” fabby colours and designs in this set, I also received a set of ProMarkers from Paul at Letraset to try so I used them for the greens on here this is the first time I have used ProMarkers really and I was quite impressed, I have always struggled to find a nice light bright greens in Copics.   The Pink Poppies from Wild Orchid Crafts were the perfect colour match for these papers, I have also used 10mm Roses, Rosebuds and Crystals  and seam binding from WOC.

The sentiment mat on the bottom layer was cut with die set from Go-Kreate

008a

The colours used:
Flesh E21, E00, E0000, R20,  Hair E53, E51, E50,  Skirt RV23, RV21, EV000 ProMarkers used for Top Grass, Apple, Meadow Green

Another 4 Drawer Box

tut19c

I am loving these boxes and I know a lot of you are too, I have had lots of requests for a tutorial so if you pop over to my new Tutorial Blog you will find a step by step with pictures on how I made this box.

tut17

This is a real change for me no pre-bought flowers, no stamps and not much colour.  But I loved making it and hope to do some more cards along these lines.   The Papers are all from The D-Crafts Hanoverian V&A Pad.  The sides of the drawers have been covered with a 1” wide strip of card stock then I have added a strip of white card punched with a Martha Stewart Punch,  this has been done on all four sides.

tut18

I made a 5.1/2” square base card and matted and layered Mink Cardstock and Backing paper to the front, a Martha Stewart round the corner punch set was used to make the lace square which I then distressed with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink, a swirl was cut in one corner using a Marianne Designs Swirl.  The flower and leaves are cut using Magnolia Doo Hickey Die Cuts Peony Petals and leaves Bon Voyage Foliage from Crafts U Love, these have also been distressed with Frayed Burlap DI.

tut20

I have decorated  the inside of the card to match the front.

Don’t forget if you would like to make this box yourself  pop over to my Tutorial Blog

Cute Card Thursday and A Template

Use for CCTa

I had a day of playing on the PC yesterday, not only did I give this blog a make over, I decided to open another blog to post all my tutorials so they would be in one place and easy to find, if you fancy a peek here is the  link Cats Whiskers Tutorial Blog,   As I  was playing around I deleted my Crafty Blog banner by mistake and I cannot remember my user name so I am having to start again!!!, DOH!!!!!!

I have a different shaped card for you today and I have included a little Template although it is not to size, once I had drawn this template I noticed that Marlene has also made the same shaped card, I am not sure if we used the same measurements though.  I am going to enter this card for Cute Card Thursday Challenge, which this week want to see cards to “Banish the Blues” what a fabby theme, they would like to see our cards with a bit of humour.

CCT4
The card is a different take on a Step Card, sorry the photo is a bit blurred, The image is of course from Lili of the Valley  its called “New Hat”, I have used Copics and Prismas to colour the image and added glitter and pearls.  The papers are from the Buds and Blossom kit from Nitwits Downloads.  The doily is a Die-namic Die from Dies to Die For.  The larger MS Border was a last minute addition, I was getting the card ready to photograph when I felt the bottom need a bit of tarting up, I add some lovely buttons and charms from The Hobby House.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

CCT9
This great Stamp is by Inkadinkado also available from Dies to Die For, and I hope fits the challenge, it made me smile anyway.

CCT7
I have forgotten to take a note of the Copics I used so sorry,

CCT8
Here is a side view of the card.

Now here is the template for you

CCT1
Start with White card 12” x 8”  and mark and score at 1”, 2”, 6” and 7” along both sides, measure 1.1/2” in from each side and draw a line from the 1” to 7” mark as shown, with a sharp craft knife and steel ruler cut down this line, now following the broken lines on photo score at 1”, 2” 7” and 6” marks as shown.

CCT2
Fold along scored lines and your card should end up looking like the above photo.

CCT3
Side view.

If you have any queries just e-mail me, and please let me see your cards if you use this template.
