Hello!!!!! from Milly and the Snowman

IMG_0372a

Good Morning, how many of you stayed up until midnight to get your orders in for the new Lili of the Valley Girls release, a little birdie told me there were a lot of you.  Today I dear Milly is sending you a big Hello from herself, Maisie and Emma the new girls on the block.

IMG_0372

Do you sometimes make a card that you really enjoyed creating this is one of those, of course using the sweet Milly “Hello” image helped but everything just came together perfectly.  The lush Maja Design papers are available from Crafts U Love and Dies to Die for, this card was made from just one sheet of the double sided paper, lots of punches and dies used as well, Nesties Fleur de Lys, Martha Stewart Border Punch, Nestie circle die for the sentiment.   I was so pleases Milly fitted perfectly on the largest of the Go-Kreate Label Dies, I pencilled around the outside of the die and then cut it out to add a border for the label.  The sentiment is from the Lili of the Valley Mixed Circular Greetings sheet. and the heart is from the Cute as a Button Sheet.

IMG_0373

Milly has been coloured with Copics again, I don’t have the colours (sorry).

IMG_0374

Flowers from Wild Orchid Craft.

Now it is the turn of the iconic Snowman, this is my final sneak peek of the Stamp Sheet,  he makes his debut this evening at 9.00pm on Ideal World, as usual with any Crafters Companion product he is made from good quality rubber, there are 3 images on the sheet, a selection if snowflakes and greetings, there is also a stunner of a CD featuring him which includes all the usual  folders i.e. Backing papers, Frame Cards decoupage, Inserts and a smashing new folder called “Card Companions” which is a perfect tool for making all those really quick cards.

snowman5

I have used a Which Craft card blank again for the base of this card, Dark Blue Co-Ordinations  card was run through the Grand Calibur in the Snowflake Embossing Folder and then sanded down, I love this effect, and the snowflakes are all punched with Martha Stewart Punches.

Wow are you still here, that was a long one.

15 hours to GO !!!!!!

IMG_0367a

Only 15 hours to go now until you can own your very own Milly, Maisie and Emma stamps, they will be available on the Lili of the Valley website from Midnight tonight.  This is Little Maisie “Sitting Pretty”.  Each time I use one of these images I think it is my favourite but when it comes down to it they are all my favourites.

IMG_0367

Dodgy picture again I am afarid, its those dreaded reds.  I coloured the Summer Girls collection ages ago as they were to be used for advertising and I forget which reds I used so sorry.

The Magnolia paper is just perfect for this image and I have also tucked 2 Doo Hickey swirls behind the image.

IMG_0369

I used Stickles on her ribbon and outlined the copic colouring with a dark brown pencil to give it a bit of umph!!

IMG_0370

I used the small heart from the Lili of Valley Clear Additions stamp sheet “Cute as a Button” to stamp onto some matching backing paper, the cut out the heart, glittered the edges and added some gorgeous lace from The Ribbon Girl around the edge.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Have a lovely week

A late little Tilda, and I am flying through the Air Today

10.6c

Good morning peeps!!  I did go to bed very early last night and slept right through, but am still feeling really tired, I am sure its always worse the day after.  Anyway didn’t have time to finish my DT card for the Just Magnolia & hAnglar & stAnglar Challenge blog  . It is our special Monthly challenge that means extra special prizes, so come and join us you have top be in it to win it.

10.6

Decided to get the dies out for this one, I cut the stunning Kiwi Doily, tucked behind the image, from Co-Ordinations card, I also used the same card to cut the Doo Hicky Doily Flowers all the dies can be found at Dies to Die For.  The paper is also from Dies to Die for and is from the My Minds Eye Lost and Found collection, so pleased I got doubles of all of these papers I  love them all.

I think the pearl buttons I have used  for the flower centres were one of my  most versatile embellie buys, they are available from Jill at The Hobby House.

10.6a

Copics and pencils Used:

Flesh: E01, E00, E000, E0000, Medium Flesh PolyChromos Pencil

Hair: E42m E41, E41,  - Walnut Brown Pencil

Now a little Sneak Peek of a new Release from Crafters Companion

Snowman1

Don’t know about you but Christmas isn’t Christmas without sitting down to watch Raymond Briggs “The Snowman”,  so you can imagine how excited I was when I received a DT Package from Crafters Companion and on opening it I found a sheet of  3 delicious Snowmen stamps and a stunning CD, I just couldn’t wait to get started on them.

I have used another of the shaped cards from Which Craft, I embossed a selection of the snowflakes from the stamp plate with WOW embossing powder, I am not a great heat embosser but I must admit these WOW powders (available from Crafters Companion) are fab to use, no mess markers like I usually get.  I coloured the image with copics as usual, and the sentiment is also from the stamp sheet.

The rest of the DT will be showing sneak peeks until the launch on Tuesday on Ideal World at 9pm where it will be The Pick of the Day so you know that means a very special price for one day. There are so many programmes on Wednesday both on Ideal World and Create and Craft so be sure to tune in.
Would you like to win a set of these? Of course you would, so head over to
Crafter’s Companion News blog where you will find all the details of this fun competition. Just look for the snowmen each day and you could be the lucky winner.

See you all tomorrow

OMG what a Manic Day, at last I have time to post.

milly2a

I have had the most manic day ever, I actually went to bed at 6.30 this morning then had to get up for Mum at 8.30 so 2 hours sleep I am getting a bit old for all this Smile.  But had to do a favour for a couple of special people, anyway I am here now so at last I can post my DT card for the Lili of the Valley Challenge, its another sneak peek of the new Girls release available on 14th June.

milly2

Its an easy challenge this week “Anything Goes” and we have two prizes for you the usual £10 voucher donated by out lovely Lisa and Laila from Lili of ther Valley and as its the second Tuesday in the month we have a lovely Ribbon Kit for you to choose donated by those lovely Girls, Mary and Andrea at The Ribbon Girl.  We had so many entries for our GDT position this week so we will not be announcing the winner until the weekend as it is so hard to trim it down to just one.

Anyway down to the card this is going to be very quick again I am afraid s I have still got to do my Just Magnolia Card for tomorrow, woo is me, are you feeling sorry for me yet!!!!!!

milly3

I have used the gorgeous Nitwits Collection Faiytale Dreams papers for this one and the gorgeous new Milly “Just for you Image”, she has been coloured with copics I had to clear my desk before I started last night and put the copics away, so sorry.

Now this is something I should have posted earlier in the week, ( al of you who have asked me to do another course in Kent, that is in hand more news later).

Whoop whoop for all the Northerners (well we couldn’t leave you out now could we lol)!  Following the massive success of the recent Colouring Masterclass in Kent, we have had a lot of interest for holding a similar event in the North (in fact several parts of the UK!).
6a12ab696cefdffe811e3a47c0ba2177

Can you let us know if you would be interested in coming to one in the North, so that we can judge the size of venue and number of days required. To re-cap it's a full day's intensive colouring course where you can master your marker pens and colour like a professional by the end of the day. The course will either be £100 including all food and refreshments and be held at a quality Hotel or it will be a little cheaper and be held at LOTV offices! ... but this will depend on numbers.

Please email lisa@liliofthevalley.co.uk if you would like to register your interest and receive further information.

Two for Teddy Bo

TB!a

Popped over to the Teddy Bo website yesterday to see if they had anymore images and of course had to buy a couple I found I hadn’t got.  Fatal!! I then had to colour them and make a card, so decided to enter the Teddy Bo Challenge  the theme is “Shaped Cards”, then the problem was I couldn’t stop at one so have made 2 cards for the challenge, hope that is OK.  OMG I have just popped over to the Website again and see they have some new Ballerina Teddy Bea images so that means another visit once I have finished this post, I will never be rich.

TB!

This card was made by folding a card cut with a large shaped Go-Kreate die in half, the paper is from Nitwits Collection and flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, the image is called “Bea Lying in Flowers” and has been coloured with copics and then carefully cut out, I have added grass cut with Magnolia Doo Hickey Die to the bottom of the image.  The Butterfly if a Marianne Design Die from Crafts U Love, I have distressed around the edge of the Butterfly with Distress Ink and added Glamour Dust.

TB2

Copics Used:

Bea: E53, E51, E51 Light Brown PolyChromos Pencil

Hat: E42, E41, E40, G94, G82

Dress: V12, V01, V000, V0000

And here is my Second Shaped Card using one of the lovely Pencil Sketches “Hatched, Matched and Dispatched,

TB4

These pencil sketches don’t need much colouring so I have kept it very light, I have used a mixture of greys on the Car, Hat, Suit and Veil applied very lightly and a touch of Y23 and Y00 has been used on the hats.

The paper is by Best Creations “Wedding Collection” which I have had for ages, more Marianne Design Die’s have been used for the swirl and heart popping out from behind the flowers.  The Flowers are by Prima and Charm from The Ribbon Girl.

I will be back later this afternoon with another  Lili of the Valley sneak peek.

Have a good day

girl1a

Please mark the 14th June on your calendar the new Lili of the Valley Summer Girls will be released then and I know you wouldn’t want to miss them !!!!, There are 3 little girls, Milly, Maisie and Emma  playing with their little furry friends and just doing girlie things.  There are 15 images in all and this week  our DT’s will be showing Sneak Peeks on their blogs.  Will give you more news on the release later in the week.

girl1

So here is Milly with her two friends this image is called “Cuddle Time”  isn’t it just the cutest.    Milly has been coloured with Copics.  I have used 2 sheets of Double Sided backing paper from the My Minds Eye “Lost and Found” collection from Dies to Die for, this is more paper that I have had for a little while and just didn’t have the heart to cut.  I think I might have to see a therapist soon as it is almost impossible to find a spare square of space in my Craft Room, as there is backing paper everywhere, I cannot stop buying it.  Its that bad that I even bought a T shirt in Asda the other month because the material looked like backing paper (thats bad isn’t it).  The Flowers are from Wild Orchid Craft.  I used the stunning sketch on Sketch Saturday for the card, lots of lovely layer.

girl2b

The Copics used on Milly are:

Stamp Something Challenge

sun3a

Stamp Something Challenge this week is to use a Digital Stamp, I bought Nathan as a digi image from Funky Kits on Friday so he was just perfect for the challenge.   I missed these images when they were first released as I have been so tied up I have had no time for blog hopping, I feel completely out of touch at the moment, and miss visiting everyone's blog  and getting my daily dose of inspiration.

sun3

Nathan has been coloured with copics (colours below), and I have kept the card pretty plain to shopw him off.  I actually cut the image out and left off the legs of the bear as I knew the effect I was looking for and they didn’t fit in properly.  The paper is by Magnolia.  The Gingham Ribbon is from The Craft Fairy and  charm from the Hobby House.

My First Christmas Card for 2011

chr1a

I cannot believe I had the sudden urge to make a Christmas card in the Middle of a Heatwave, the heat must have fried my brain.  I am still in the middle of the biggest commission I have had but am trying to make at least one card a day using an image I love.  Since the LOTV Colouring Day I have had lots of requests to make some of my cards for the blog with ProMarkers, so here is one not only coloured in ProMarkers but using a colour scheme I have never used before.

chr1

“All Wrapped Up”  was one of Lili of the Valleys 2010 Christmas releases, what a little darling she is.  I usually colour my image and then search around for papers to match, but for thios card I had already decided I wanted to use some of the small bits of my Pion Papers left over from previous card, (this paper is just to precious to waste).   The I choose the flowers and ribbon and finally coloured the image, I am so pleased with the results I may try this again, I know a lot of you make your card this way.

I stamped the music onto cream card using  Lili of the Valley Clear Additions Grunge Music stamp and popped this behind the image.  The Seam binding from The Ribbon Girl was distressed and glittered and a button from The Hobby House was added to the middle of the Bow.

chr2

The Flowers are a mixture from Wild Orchid Crafts and Prima and the leaves are from the Doo Hickey Mistletoe Die.

chr2a

Promarkers used to colour the image:

Dress and Bow: Amber, Saffron, Vanilla, Ivory

Hat & Ribbons: Soft Green, Tea Green, Ivory

Flesh: Apricot, Saffron, Vanilla

Boots: Ice Grey1, Ice Grey 2, Ice Grey 5

Have a lovely weekend

My fellow Dt members have really outdone themselves this week and have created some wonderful inspiration for you.

jm3

I don’t know if there is a name for this style of card, I find it quite a handy shape to use.  It looks as if I have been a bit sparing on the lace theme, but as well as the bow, the Magnolia Backing paper has a lace theme.  I have gone for 1 Magnolia and 1 H&S stamp today, the Mushroom Background stamp from Crafts U Love and the sweet little Stripey Fairy from H&S.  I cut the grass border with the  Doo Hickey Grass Lace die  from Dies to Die For the Leaves are another Doo Hickey Die called Bon Voyage Foliage  also from Dies to Die for.  The Lace and Gems are from Wild Orchid Crafts. Finally the sentiment which has been stapled to the card is from Whimsey Stamps.
