19.1.11
Lots of pictures today, I am afraid, I got carried away making this card and really went to town on both the front and inside.  Sorry about the poo photo, when will I ever learn for some reason I find Red really difficult to capture in a photo.  I have used Lili of the Valley “Love Grows “ stamp for this little Valentines card and have used Copics to colour the image.  The papers are from a Tilda 12x12 Paper Pad from Panduro.

19.1.11b
I have gone overboard with  the flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, as you can see.  A Martha Stewart Punch was used  for the hearts, and the lovely Rose Silk 32mm ribbon is from The Ribbon Girl, I never feel my card is quite finished unless it has a few Wild Orchid Flat Back Pearls  somewhere on it :).  The Sentiment is by Lili of the Valley.

008a

I carried the heart theme onto the inside of the card, I bought these gorgeous Kraft paper Pockets from The Ribbon Girl, I just liked the look of them and had no idea what I was going to do with them (are you guilty of things like that).  I stamped all over the pocket with A LOVE  text stamp inked with Victorian Velvet Distress Ink, then adhered a Distressed Doily to the flap, and added a Bow using the same ribbon as on the front.

009b

Another Lili of the Valley sentiment was stamped onto plain white card and cut with deckle edged scissors and distressed with the Victorian Velvet DI and matted  onto matching paper and card, then slipped into the little pocket.

19.1.11c
The copics used:
Flesh E21, E00, E0000, Hat, Dress & Flowerpot R59, R39, R37, R35, Apron E43, E40, Hat & Trousers E74, R71, E70, E40, Tree YG93, YG91, E40.

Don’t forget to scroll down to next post to enter my LOTV Stamp and Seam Binding Candy.
This card will be available to buy on my e-bay site later today.

A Spoonfull of Sugar and a Guinea Pig!!!!

ASFS1a

Sorry I am a bit late with uploading this morning, its been a bit hectic here.  Anyway its Tuesday that means its time for A Spoonfull of Sugar Challenge, this week we have a theme for you to use the colours “BLUE AND GREEN”,  my fellow teamies have really pushed out the boat this week and created some stunning cards using this colour scheme.

ASFS1

Today I have used one of the new Lili of The Valley Molly Harrison Fairies "Garden of Wishes”, I am loving her in these colours.  The papers are from my stash and I think are a couple of years old so no idea who made them.  I am into swirls at the moment and have used a die from Mariannes Dies to create these two.  The sentiment is from Lili of the Valleys  circular sentiment set.

asfs5  asfs3

I have used Seam Binding from Wild Orchid Craft and had a go at distressing it, I don’t possess any Mini Misters as recommend by Bev and like us all I couldn’t wait so thought I would try it with Glimmer Mist it seems to work!!, The ribbon started off  as a pale aqua blue, I scrunched the ribbon and sprayed it with Key Lime Pie  and Pearl  Glimmer Mist, then dabbed all over with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink, as I said I am really pleased with the results.

asfs2

The Copics used on this image are:

Flesh E21, E00, E0000, Hair E71, E70, E40, Wings YG11, G20

001a

I never imagined I would make a card using a Guinea Pig image, but I just love this little well dressed gentleman.  He is one of the images from the Beatrix Potter Appley Dapply Stamp Plate that is released on Friday 21st by Crafters Companion, there is a fabulous CD full of Backing Papers, Decoupage, Greetings in fact everything you would expect from a Crafters Companion CD, they really are the best in the crafting CD market.

001

Now those of you who know me well, know I have a orange phobia!!!!, and I have made 2 orange cards in 2 days, I must be conquering it!!!  The base easel card was made with the smallest die in the GoKreate Scalloped Circle XXL Die, the largest layer is a Mariannes design Doiley Die Cut, and then I have used circle nesties to cut the rest of the layers.  The BP comes from the accompanying CD.

002

The Sentiment is from the stamp stamp sheet and has been inked with Versafine Brown Ink.  Roses and Seam Binding are from Wild Orchid Crafts, and the large pearls are from Quixotic paperie.

Hope you like

A Little Colouring Tutorial – Colouring Face and hair on Simply Adorables

I have been asked how I colour the beautiful Suagr Nellie – Funky Kits Simply Adorable beauties, so I have come up with this little tutorial, I am not too good at taking photos and I am not trained in anyway so this is just my way of colouring, I hope it helps.  This is part one “Colouring Face and Hair” part two will be later in the week.

005
I have used a stamped Image of Joy (see Karen they stamp perfectly dear), and I will start on the face, I always use these 3 Copics for flesh E21, E00, E0000 (Picture 1)

006 007

Starting at the hairline and using E21 just bring the colour out into the face (not too far) also use the same Copic to colour the cross hatched sections as in Picture 2, Now using E00 go over the previous colour with circular movements of your marker so the 2 colours are blended then bring E00 further out into the face as in Picture 3

008 009

Now using E0000 as before go over the previous colours and then complete colouring the face as in Picture 4.  You will notice I have not coloured the neck at the same time as the face, I find the colours blend easier if you just colour one area at a time.  Using E21 colour around the edge of the neck including the cross hatched area Picture 5.

010 011
colour the rest of the neck as the face using E00 and E0000, as for the face Pictures 6 and 7

012
The final step is to add colour to her cheeks. using R20 and starting at the hairline (in line with the corners of the eyes) stroke a little colour on to her cheeks Picture 8

013  015

I again use just 3 colours for the hair E53, E51, E50.  With the darkest marker E53 colour along the hairline, The top of the fringe and wherever there are  hatched areas as in Picture 10.

016 018

Now using E51 cover the previous colour as in the face and bring out into the centre leaving a small area of white  Picture 11 , the next step is difficult to see as the colour is so light, cover the whole area of hair with E50 blending all the colours together as you go Picture 12

019

Now we come to the steps that give depth and warmth to your colouring, it is like magic, you will need a  Medium Brown, light and medium Flesh  coloured  Prisma or Polychromos Pencil  Sansodor Low Order Solvent available from any Art Shop  and Paper Stumps. Picture  13

020  021

With the Medium Brown Pencil draw a line along the hairline, top of fringe, under bow , at side of bow, along the fringe and at edge of large crossed hatched areas, as in Picture 14 (I have  used a darker pencil than I would normally use just to highlight the areas to be coloured).  Now using a paper stump dipped into Sansodor  using circular movements bring the colour out into the hair as in Picture 15

 023  025

With the Light Flesh pencil  draw a smooth thin line around the face and neck Picture 16 using exactly the same method as for the hair using Sansodor and Clean paper stump blend the Light Flesh.  Picture 17.

 027

Finally just add a little Medium Flesh to her cheeks and lips, this is the look you are aiming for Picture 18 .

Hope this is clear enough for you, I hope to have another tutorial on colouring the clothes on a standing  Simply Adorables figure within the next couple of  days

New Roses, Poppies and Seam Binding at Wild Orchid Crafts

sugar1a

Trellis Roses are on the website now!  OMW these are simply stunning and I really don’t think they are going to be around for long (there is limited quantities for now so be quick if you want them).  The detail on them is amazing.  They are available in two sizes – 35mm and 40mm.  I have used the 40mm on my card today, and Bev  has used the 35mm so pop across to her blog to see her gorgeous creation.

New to the website as well is the Poppies in vintage colours and also seam binding (the seam binding will be on the website this evening).

Sug1

Once again I have used one of my Simply Adorable prize stamps from Sugar Nellie,  I so love colouring these stamps.  The papers are from Websters Papers I have stamped a Stempleglede stamp on the layer behind the image.  I am going to enter this card for the Sugar Bowl Challenge.

I Love my Teddy

Bilda

This card is just made for love, the love of my fantastic, cute new Bildmalarna Little Winged Friends Stamps, when I received the e-mail saying these new stamps were on the website of course I had to fly across and see them, and somehow 7 stamps fell into my basket.  I didn’t have to wait long for them to arrive, there service is perfect.

Bild

This image is called Together, she couldn’t be hugging that little winged teddy any harder could she.  The image called out for lots of sparkle so I had to get the old  Glamour Dust  out, the papers are from a Panduro Tilda pack, that I haven’t used for a few weeks, I love the colour scheme in this pad mink and pink are just so good together.  The Flowers and Flat Backed Pearls are as usual from Wild Orchid Crafts and the Seam Binding from The Ribbon Girl,  filigree Butterfly and Corner are also both from Panduro.

Bilda2

This is the inside of the card, the same papers again, but I have used anther stamp from the Collection this one is called “Fly with Me”
