Henry Lighting the Way

Hope this works, well if you are reading this it has lol !!!

There is a lovely sketch this week on Sunday Sketch and Stamp, I hope I am in time to join in.

Henry has been coloured with what else but Distress Inks, (Black Soot, Shabby Shutters, Faded Jeans, Tea Dye and Worn Lipstick), the fabulous christmas papers were bought from the Hobby House, I am so glad I got 4 sheets of each I just lurve the swirls and text on these papers and the grey is such a useful colour. The Snowflake came off of a Christmas Present I received last year, and the gorgeous lush Silver ribbon is from Bunny Zoes Blog. The sentiment is another Whiff of Joy stamp.

Be back on Monday, hope you are all having a fab weekend.

Feminine Friday

Just Magnolia Challenge

You are going to love the theme we have for you this week on Just Magnolia Challenge its a stunning colour challenge the colours are

PINK GREY WITH OPTIONAL BLACK

Yummy, I loved working with this combination. Hope you will come and join us again this week, please visit the Challenge Blog to see the stunning cards made by my fellow DT Divas you will be amazed.

This Tilda from the Yummy for Your Tummy collection and I think she is just so feminine and pretty, she has been coloured with Distress Inks (Black Soot, Worn Lipstick, Tattered Rose, Tea Dye), the lovely grey papers are from the New Magnolia Paper collection, the label was cut with a die from The Nesties Labels set, the Ribbon was a hanging ribbon from a lovely pair of Per Una PJs, lol. The flowers as usual are from Wild Orchid Crafts, I could not find any grey flowers so I sprayed white Cherry Blossom with Silver Glimmer Mist to get the right colour.

As I said I will try to do a tutorial for Distress Ink colouring next week, but in the meantime a lot of you have asked what paper I use, I think the paper is really important and plays a big part in attaining the best finish, I use Fabriano Classico Fat Pad, but even more important it has to be Hot Pressed (HP), this is a very smooth finished paper, the pads are available from Artifolk, this link will take you to the correct page. It is quite expensive but I really would not use anything else.

Well its the weekend at last and I am off to London today, I am so looking forward to the show and hope I bump into lots of my blogging buddies, I am meeting up with a few for coffee in the afternoon and of course I am just so excited to be catching up with my crafting Gurus dear Bev and Rach. I have a post for Sunday so hope it works. Have a great weekend everyone and I will try not to spend too much (Yeah!!!!!!! fat chance).

Penny Black Challenge & Friday Sketchers

Friday Sketchers Challenge

I Hope you are not getting bored by popping over here and seeing dear Henry everyday but I am so enamoured with this little mouse I just cannot stop using him. I loved this weeks Friday Sketchers Challenge quite simple but a great way to show off new papers and a great image.

Of course by now you probably know where Henry originates from, but if by some slim chance you haven't met him before this and lots of other scrumptious Henrys is available from Whiff of Joy. He has been coloured with Distress Inks (Broken China, Tea Dye, Worn Lipstick) with lots of glamour dust added to the bauble and his hat. These super delicious papers arrived today from The Hobby House they are by Heidi Grace and can be found Here. Snowflakes are a mixture of Sizzix and Cuttlebug Dies.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge

We have a lovely challenge for you this week on Penny Black Saturday Challenge LACE and PEARLS right up my street, as usual we have a great prize and some amazing DT cards to get you started.

I had been asked to make a Baby Congrats card so this was a great excuse to use one of my Fav PB stamps, Hedgie has been coloured with Copics and 3d, this is one of the easiest stamps to 3d. The papers are Nanas Nursery (Girl) from Bunny Zoes Craft, The Pink Nestie Circle has been embossed with the Rose Cuttlebug Folder and the fabulous lace is from Tabby Crafts.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and for all those lovely people who asked Mums scan went without a hitch, and I think it did her good just to get out of the house, thanks for asking.

Yummy Tilda

Just Magnolia Challenge

Firstly thanks for all your wonderful entries to last weeks challenge, we are always blown away by the standard of your creations.

This week we have a sketch by a blogger you all love our very own Bev, its a great sketch to work with and my fellow DT Divas have produced the most beautiful cards to get you started, we also welcome back dear Kim, we missed you while you were away dear so nice to have you back Mwah!!!

A delicious prize again from All that Scraps. To find out more and to see the fabulous DT cards just click Here.

I really enjoyed this sketch and also loved using this cute Tilda, I have coloured her with Distress Inks, I experimented with the colours on this one after reading a post by my Distress Ink Guru Camilla, she was saying that she mixed inks to get the correct colours for Tildas cheeks, so I gave that a go mixing Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick and Tea Dye, then I thought I would go one step further and try to match the Pink/Mauve on the fabulous Magnolia Papers, I mixed Worn Lipstick and Milled Lavender I think I almost achieved the perfect match. I have distressed the edges of all the papers and cards with Antique Linen Ink. The large rose arrived yesterday, it was one of many that I ordered from
Tabby Crafts and I am so pleased with them, of course it has been blitzed with Pearl Glimmer Mist for that added Sparkle, the beaded pins were made by myself.

I am off to the Hospital this morning Mum has to have a CT scan so hope to visit you all when I get back. Have a great weekend everyone

Henrys Snowman Soup

Sketch and Stash

Morning everyone, well at last the awful gale force winds and torrential rain have passed and this morning the sun is again shining through the window, makes such a difference to my mood when I wake up to sunshine, I am off to the Hairdressers today to have my usual colour and cut, I am trying to grow my hair into a bob after years and years of it being very short and it has been in that awful in between stage for the last few weeks so I will be so pleased to get it done. My pledge to not spend any money on craft until I get to Ally Pally was broken yesterday, I just couldn't resist those new Christmas Manga Girls from Sugar Nellie!!!!!

Well onto todays card which is for Sketch and Stash, another challenge I haven't had time to join in lately, they have a great sketch this week that fits my brand new Henry from Whiff of Joy and also the Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses Pad that has just been stroked but not used since it was delivered.

Everytime I ink up and colour one of these new Henry Xmas Stamps, I think it is my favourite, but the truth is they are all my favourites, he has such a fabulous cheerful face. He has been coloured with Distress Inks (Tea Dye, Worn Lipstick, Tattered Rose, Broken China, Peeled Paint and Antique Linen), I have distressed around the edges of the image with Tattered Rose and Worn Lipstick, the snowflake was cut with Nesties Snowflake set then glittered with Glamour Dust.

Hope you all have a good day, and I apologise once again for the terrible photos if this sunshine stays should be able to get some decent shots today.

Its a sketch challenge this week on Whiff of Joy Challenge, our very own Heather has created a fantastic sketch for you to follow, and the DT have excelled themselves with the wonderful cards they have created with it, so please come and join us this week.

I spent a long time trying to find 5 matching papers for the sketch then decided to go with only one, I must say I am quite pleased with the result. This Willow with Grapes has become one of my favourite Whiff of Joy stamps. Distress inks have been used to colour her (Worn Lipstick, Peeled Paint, Frayed Burlap, Tea Dye, Tattered Rose, Dusty Concord).

The Roses and leaves have been sprayed with Pearl Glimmer Mist, the Pearl Hat Pin and gorgeous Glittered Tulle Ribbon are available from Tabby Craft, Tabs has just had a delivery of the most glorious roses give her a visit you will not be disappointed.

My DT package from Katharina arrived yesterday and boy oh boy I couldn't believe my eyes, it was contained 13 of the most delicious Christmas Stamps you could image, Henry Christmas Mouse is sure to be the biggest hit for Xmas 2009, and I know we will be seeing him everywhere on the blog, you just MUST go and check out all 13 of the stamps they are all available to order now, just click Here to find them.

Wow no Papers on this one that was hard!!!!!, but I wanted Henry to take centre stage, I have used an Easel card again, I am really liking this shape, I used the lovely Fleur de Lys Nesties for the matting and have glittered around all the edges. Henry has been coloured with Distress Inks, (Tea Dye, Worn Lipstick, Broken China), with Glamour dust added to his wings and halos. Look out for lots more Henrys appearing on here in the next few days, and I will also have some Henry Candy for you on Monday.

Two for Tuesday

Craft 4 Fun

Inspired by a card I saw on the uber talented Bev's I decided to join in the Craft 4 Fun Challenge this week, the fabulous sketch was quite challenging but I really enjoyed playing with it. Pop over to the challenge blog to see some fantastic creations by the DT.

This wonderful image is one of my many downloads I have from Mo's Digital Pencil, I just wish I had more time to colour them all, they are the most beautiful and detailed drawings. I have to apologise for the terrible quality of the photos this morning, It has rained non stop for the last 24 hours and it is dark everywhere in the house, I just couldn't get a decent shot.

I have coloured this Christmas Fairy with Copics, (the frill on her dress is actually a very pale pink which hasn't shown up very well), the papers are all Basic Grey from last year, the flowers have been sprayed with Peppermint Stick Glimmer Mist.

Copics used on this card.

A Spoonfull of Sugar

For our challenge this week we would love to see Autumn/fall inspired projects, I can not think of a more apt theme for today, it really looks as if autumn is here, we have the most cutest stamps on offer as a Prize to one lucky person, pop over and see the DT cards and check out those fantastic stamps.

This Whiff of Joy, Charlotte Fall Stamp is just perfect for the challenge once again she has been coloured with copics, The paper is from the Cosmo Cricket Pad - Early Bird available from Bunny Zoes Crafts, as is the ribbon, the trailing leaves are cut with the MS Branch Punch and just glued together to making a garland.

Here are the Copics Used
