Halloween
is the theme this week on A Spoonful of Sugar and my Fellow DT members have come up with some scary creations to give you inspiration so click HERE to view them and join in the challenge
We have a fabulous prize this week of the cute High Hopes stamp "First Ride". This has very kindly been donated by Bryony from Silly Monkey Crafts. Silly Monkey crafts have some great new products in stock including Pink Magnolia stamps.
Can anyone let me know if there is a secret to taking good photos of red cards, they never seem to show the real colours and my poor little Dracula Max looks quite washed out. He is lovely and bright IRL, he is one of Janets great stamps at Spiral Whisper and has been coloured with Copics, I added glaze to the little pumpkin and some glitter to his lace colour and cuffs. The Ovals have been cut with Nesties, I run pearlised red card through the skull folder on th CB. The bats were cut and embossed with a CB folder and Die and the Boo was cut on the cricut. I added red Stickles to the bats eyes which dosn't show up but looks quite scary IRL, the Spider charm and black ribbon are from stash.
Update thanks so much Jo she took my pictures and "mucked around" with them, they now look much better.

Great card Jacqui, he looks scary but cute ;0)
It isn't necessarily how you photgraph your card, Jacqui, its how your computer interprets it when you upload it. I run all my photo's through paintshop pro and that corrects any digital anomalies. Hope this helps hun :0)

Fantastic card Jacqui! I love Janet's little Halloween boy and your colouring is wonderful as always. The embossed panel is fabby too! Re: your photograph Sweetie, red is one of those difficult colours, together with yellow and lilac. I don't know which graphics package you use but that would be the answer, to put it through the filters which should correct the contrast, brightness and colour. A lot of graphics software has an automatic correct button which does it all for you. Hope this helps or tell me to shut up if you already know this LOL! Hugs, Chris xxx
Hi Jacqui.
I don't know what camera you're using, so can't really help in that respect., but red is a bit tricky.. as was said, I also use photohop to change the contrast. Also, a red filter may help to emphasize the colours a little..
Also, do you use flash? Can you turn it off? it may be that the aperture is too high/ shutter too quick to get the colours. Turn off the flash, or cover it with tissue to make it lesh harsh.. that should help x
Jacqui.. touched them up for you., and emailed them back. x
Fantastic card Jacqui, love the stickled eye's on the bat. Have a great day. Donna x
