A Spoonfull of Sugar Challenge

MH2c

My Favourite theme this week on a Spoonfull of Sugar Challenge “ANYTHING GOES”  so come on girls let those creative juices run wild and come and join us .

It was really hard to get started on crafting yesterday and I didn’t think I would  have a card for you today, then I remembered I had some new delightful images to show you from Lili of the Valley and the card nearly made itself.  When these images arrived from Lili of the Valley I just fell in love and couldn’t wait for the go ahead to show them.   This new range of fabulous stamps with these stunning fairies by Molly Harrison  will shortly be available from the Lili of the Valley  website, we haven’t got a release date yet but will let you know on here as soon as we have.   To put your minds at rest this does not mean we will be saying goodbye to Rosie, James the Bear and the rest of your favourite LOTV cuties theres still lots more of them to come.

MH2

I am not sure I have done justice to this little one, my MOJO must have caught my infection as he was not working 100% yesterday, I coloured the image with Copics (Colours below) and added lots of Glamour Dust to her wings, the carefully cut her out as I wanted to give some movement to her wings.  I placed her on the  largest Nestie Beaded Circle, and just distressed the edges with Dusty Concord Distress Ink.  The paper is by Magnolia and the flowers and ribbons are by Wild Orchid Crafts.   I have used die cut Butterflies and Corner from Panduro.

Thank You, LOTV Winner and a couple of belated cards

Sorry for my absence for the last week and thank you for all the e-mails I received asking if I was OK.   I had a rotten Chest Infection and couldn’t get upstairs to my PC so although I had been very good and got the weeks DT cards done  by the weekend I  haven’t been able to post them, worst of all I couldn’t post my LOTV Candy Winner, I am still tired so not sure if I will be making any cards for the next few days.  Now the apologies and explanations are dealt with I had better give the name of my Lili of the Valley Candy Winner.

No 129 – Aussie Loz   can  you please e-mail me Here dear so I can get the Calendar Stamp sent to you.

LOTV1a

The First of my delayed cards is for the Lili of The Valley Challenge  where this weeks challenge is Glitter and Glitz.

LOTV1

All the Glitter is rather muted in my Photo, although I have used lots of it, the image is Lili of the Valley It’s my Party, I did make a note of the Copics I used on this and my Just Magnolia card but Can I find the Post It with the numbers on, of course not!!!!!! sorry.    I have cut the doyley with a Marianne Die from Quixotic Paperie, and have cut it in half to fit behind the image.  The paper is from BudsnBlossom Nitwits download kit, and the fantastic sentiment is a stamp from Dies to Die For.  The Flowers, Pearls, Hearts and  Ribbon are all from Wild Orchid Crafts, I have edged the flowers Image and Sentiment with Stardust Stickles.

LOTV1b

Now for my Just Magnolia Card.

Jacb

Our challenge for you this week on Just Magnolia Challenge  is White and One other Colour, sounds a bit daunting but once you get down to it not as scarry as it seems, just check out the DT cards, they are just fabulous.

Jac

I have already used this sweet Tilda this week but I just love her and she was just right for this challenge.  I cut the Sentiment Circle with one of my new nesties and stamped the image with Memento Ink, then I stamped around the image with a Magnolia Snowflake stamped inked with Fired Earth Distress Ink, once I had finished colouring Tilda ,  I used a Glue Pen and Glamour Dust to add sparkle to the stamped Snowflakes.   The paper, which has been distressed with Scissors and  Fired Earth D,   is from  Magnolias Christmas Collection from Crafts U Love, I have cut two different lengths of lace to put behind the image and also cut a Label using Nesties to just poke behind the image, I have actually stamped Merry Christmas on the label  but forgot to take a piccie, (the label does pull out).  The Flowers and lace are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

If I find my Post It note I will add the Copic Colours later.

ASFS1cI am so sorry I forgot to make a note of the Copics I used, I  was trying to be very organised and to tidy my desk as I finished each card, so had put the copics back in their pots without making a note of them, from now on I will carry on being the same old untidy me at least I know where things are!!!

Wild Orchid Craft News

WOC1a

Oh my goodness, wait till you see these!!  Wild Orchid Crafts is now stocking small flat gardenias, they go on sale today.  I do love the big ones but I think these smaller ones are just the business lol.  They measure just over an inch in diameter so work really well with the other WOC flowers.
gardenias6

I meant to get this card up early this morning, but I decided to sit with Mum and watch the Remembrance Day Service and Parade, her time serving in the Womans Royal Army Corp (or ATS as it was then) during WW11 is one if the few things she remembers with great accuracy, pride and joy and to see the look on her face as she watches the Cenotaph Parade gives me lots of pleasure.  Until 6 years ago Mum and her friends matched past every year.

WOC1

Quixotic Paperie  had the  lovely new Elizabeth Bell Snowbabies stamps available to pre-order so couldn’t resist, when they arrived yesterday I had to ink this little darling up.  I have used one of the New Wild Orchid Crafts Craft Small Gardenias on here, I am loving them, instead of leaves I thought I would put a couple of punched and glittered snowflakes behind the Gardenia .

WOC1d
The paper is by Magnolia and is from  Crafts U Love, the Pink and Aqua on this paper is so good to work with and is one of my fav colour schemes at the moment.  The Snowflake border is a Martha Stewart Punch and the Ribbons are from The Hobby House.

Hat and Jumper: R83, R82, RV000, RV0000

I have edge the plaid mat with a border cut with a Martha Stewart Punch, I stamped the Magnolia Silent Night image onto cream card then distressed it and added glitter.

The Curly Wild Roses and Gems are from Wild Orchid Craft, silver leaves and Pine Cone are from a disassembled Christmas decoration from the Pound Shop, Holly Leaves are punched with a new Martha Stewart Punch and the stunning Enamelled Bell Charms are from The Hobby House.

Quixotic Paperie Challenge

004a

Our Challenge to you this month on Quixotic Paperie Challenge is:

What No Square or Rectangle?

So your make this month can be any shape you like as long as it isn't square or rectangular!

This month there is a chance to win a fabulous prize donated from Quixotic Paperie by Elaine and picked randomly. There will also be the opportunity to work with us as a guest designer as each month the DT will pick their favourites from the entries and one will win a guest DT spot for a month.

So rules? There are no rules! Yep that is right! As before our only rule is that you spread the word and make sure you link your make back to us on your blog post. So you can use any stamps, papers, not just ones stocked at Quixotic Paperie just as long as the make falls within our theme for the month.

The challenge will run from today 10th November until Tuesday 7th December (12 noon UK time) and you can enter the challenge as many times as you like in this time period.

003

Its that time of the year again, when I buy sweets for Christmas and then go and eat them before hand.  The trouble is I love Turkish Delight and it doesn’t matter where I hide it, I can hear it calling me, what has all this got to do with my creation for this months challenge, well!!! the Turkish Delight Box is just fantastic to decorate so I just had to eat the contents to make it.

I have covered the Box and Lid with Black Card, I used swirls from the Stempelglede Friendship Rose Collection on the lid, I stamped them with Versamark and used WOW embossing powder, I heat embossed the sentiment, which is from the same collection, on a square of black card for the label.

004

I attached the lace from Wild Orchid Crafts around the edge of the lid with Glossy Accents,  The main image is another Stempelglede Stamp this one is Maribel  also available from Quixotic Paperie, she was stamped with Black Soot Distress Ink and I have added a little touch of Worn Lipstick Distress Ink to her lips.

006

Finally it was finished off with Flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, to which I have applied Stardust Stickles around the edge.

Well 3 projects in one day cannot be bad can it

Some New Goodies

003a

A couple of cards for you today, using new goodies I have used for the first time, the first card I am entering for the Sketch and Stash Challenge where they have a great sketch to follow.  I have had a bit of a inspiration block for the last few weeks and instead of wanting to make cards I have had to force myself into it.  But yesterday I sat down at my desk and they almost made themselves so hopefully the joy of crafting is back.

Another of the lovely Toby Tumble  downloads from Cuddly Buddly  for you today, he is irresistible isn’t he, cannot wait to see more of him.  The paper is Echo Park Wintertime from Quixotic Paperie, and the embossed mat behind the image  was made using the Marianne Designs Cut and Embossing Folder also from Cuddly Buddly, I bought a couple of these from the stand at the NEC .   The Snowflake and Mistletoe is cut with the Magnolia Doo Hickeys Christmas Die, Hellebore and Cherry Blossom is from Wild Orchid Crafts.  Toby has been coloured with Copics and as with the Snowflake,  Mistletoe  and Flowers has had lots of  Glamour Dust brushed over him.

Yesterday the postman bought me a package from Quixotic Paperie  and inside were the 2 sets of Stempleglede Stamps I pre-ordered, OMG they are just awe inspiring I love them and just had to play.

I have used three of the stamps from the Vintage Garden Collection on here, the flowers, sentiment and corner swirl, they have been stamped with Stone Grey Stazon, the flowers have been coloured with a mixture of Distress Inks and Prismas.  The paper is from Webster Pages Collection also available from Quixotic Paperie.  The Butterflies are from Panduro and flowers of course are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The Ribbon is from the Hobby House and hearts were a RAK wish I could get some more of these, they are the last 2 I have.

A Spoonfull of Sugar Challenge

002ab

At last I am back with a card,  had the most fantastic time at the NEC and it was just so great to meet everyone, it never ceases to amaze me how nice everyone in blogland is,  it was great to catch up with some very dear friends again and to meet many new friends.  Had the best time on the Lili of the Valley Stand, with Lisa Laila, Lucy, Bev we even had a visit and Dinner with the fabulous Dena from the USA and Andy and how could I forget Richard, , who had me and our customers in fits of laughter, although my feet were about to give up on Sunday it was such a pleasure to work on a stand where just everyone loved every single item we had on sale, what a lucky girl I am to work for Lili of the Valley.  I am sorry I had to rush off on the Sunday though, my dear friend Lin drove all the way from Canterbury to pick me up but had to get straight back as she had a family emergency, thank you dear xxxxx.

I must say though I was very disappointed with the show, I didn’t buy much at all, only spent £50 and that was on just one stall Cuddly Buddly, I bought a Marianne Die and a couple of Toby Tumble stamps which I love, and of course I had to visit Jill at the Hobby House to get my fix of unusual embellies.

002a

Our Challenge this week on A Spoonfull of Sugar is chosen by Sonja who would like to see

Snow and/or Snowflakes!!!

With Christmas just over 6 weeks away there is no excuses not to play along!

A Spoonfull of Sugar Challenge

ASFSa

Hi everyone!!!, had a mad day yesterday, left home very early to go to Rye and get my hair cut (got to look my best for the NEC ), sometimes I just amaze myself at the daft things I do, fancy choosing to walk 25 mins to the station take 2 trains and a walk at the other end just to have my hair cut when there is a hairdressers in our village.  But I do have an ulterior motive it means I have the chance to go and pick up Owen from school and spend a few hours with him, I know he is only 5 but we really are like best friends and he just brings out the little child that hides in this old body of mine.
