Friday Favourite

Morning Peeps, Its time for a new challenge on Just Magnolia & hAnglar & stAnglar Challenge, and this week we have a fabulous sketch by our own Jane.   In the last 2 months or so I have been finding it hard to gather any enthusiasm for using my once beloved Tildas,  but after searching through my very large box of Magnolia Stamps and finding so many old favourites I am going to start using them again.

IMG_0868

These are a couple of my older Magnolia stamps I was talking about, sorry about the rubbish photo I always have trouble taking photos at night when reds are used.  The papers are from Lost & Found Christmas pad from The Hobby House and the Lace and Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts,   (Ohh just realised one of my pearls has slipped out of place).

I have only used the Magnolia Christmas Envelope image onc before but really love colouring it so I am going to keep it on my desk and use it a bit more.

IMG_0869

I have managed to make a note of the colours used today:

TILDA: Flesh: E11, E00, E000, Hair, E74, E70, E40, Dress: E42, E40, Roses, Headband, Ribbon: R39, R37, R35, R32, Holly: YG67, YG63.

ENVELOPE; E42, E41, E40, Ribbon and Holly as above.

I am so excited tonight sees the start of Strictly Come Dancing, I know its naff but Mum and I love it.

Have agood dau

Lili of the Valley Challenge

Morning All,  hope all those of you in the UK are enjoying this Indian Summer, make the most of it, I heard on the news last night that we are in for the worst winter on record and could even get snow in October!!!!! Smile

We have a new challenge posted today on Lili of the Valley Challenge our theme this week is “Button It “ and Lili of the Valley have donated a £15 voucher so do hope you can come and join us.

IMG_0865

I was discussing using Distress Inks for colouring with a couple of friends at the weekend and I realised how much I had missed using them since I started to colour with Markers, so yesterday I got my DI’s out and had a go, it was not as easy as I thought to pick up again think I need a bit more practise, but it was really enjoyable to have a paintbrush in my hands again.

IMG_0866

I have used one of last years Bunny Christmas stamps for this card, the Distress Inks used to colour him are: Fur Tea Die, Red Carn Door, Green Peeled Paint, Bird House Brushed Corduroy, Sack Frayed Burlap.

IMG_0867

The paper is  from my Christmas Scrap Paper Box so not sure who it is by.  The awesome Gold Net Ribbon is from The Ribbon Girl as are the Hat Pins and Buttons, and I have used a Prima Rose in the middle of the bow.

Have a lovely day all

Wishing you a Musical Christmas

I know at the best of times my spelling is bad, but if there are a large number of typos on here you can blame it on Rosie, she is sitting on my lap and keeps knocking my hand and arm as she wants a stroke, she is very persistent .  Today I have a Musical card for you.

IMG_0486

By the amount of you who bought this Lili of the Valley “Musical Christmas” stamp at the weekend you love it as much as I do.  Not using much colour on the image I thought I was free to add lots of  different colour glitter, this is quite unusual for me as I normal stick to Crystal Glamour Dust.  The backing papers are from Nitwits Collections .  I popped a  Lili of the Valley Grunge Musical stamp stamped onto white card behind the image, the Sentiment is also from Lili of the Valley.  This is a card I made for this months issue of Quick Cards Made Easy and as we have to make them months in advance I cannot remember the copics I used.  I also forgot to take a close up of the coloured image.

Little Apprentice

Sorry I didn’t get back here yesterday as promised have quite a bit of Freelance work going on and I got carried away with it, it was midnight before I realised the day had gone.  When I got back home from Ally Pally I had a lovely package awaiting me, I had ordered some cute little stamps from Sugar Nellie,  the impulse to use them was to great and I got up at 6am this morning to make this card.

IMG_0862

Can I introduce you to this darling little fairy she is called “The Apprentice” She has been coloured with a mixture of Copics and FlexiMarkers,  and lots of Glamour Dust has been added to her fur and wings.  The Papers are by Magnolia and are available from Crafts U Love, The Doily, Organza Roses, Pearls and Martha Stewart Snowflake Die are all available from The Hobby House.

IMG_0863

I told you yesterday about the Stamp Company I visited at Ally Pally, they are called Vilda Stamps HB, I visited their website this morning and they have about 700 stamps, tanging from fantasy to grunge, I will certainly be buying more, here are the stamps I bought on Sunday.  Cannot wait to use them.

Flying in The Air

Morning Peeps, home again, it was lovely to catch up with so many friends at Ally Pally at the weekend, but I am absolutely shattered today, I didn’t spend too much this weekend, Saturday was manic and we didn’t have much time to do any shopping, but on Sunday just before the show opened we had a wander around and I found a delightful new Stamping Company from Scandinavia and had to buy s few of their delightful stamps, I will add a link to their blogsite later when I have made a card with one of the images, I am sure you will love them.  Today I will be showing you some cards I made for the Crafters CompanionSnowman TV Pick of the Week Release, as I haven’t had time to make a card for today yet.

IMG_0841

This easel card is made with two sheets printed from the CD-Rom card companions folder.

IMG_0853

This one is made from the Rocker Card Folder.

And this one uses a Frame Card and a Digi Image which I coloured with Spectrum Noirs also from the CD-Rom.

A Christmas scene with Molly Bloom Stamps

By the time you read this I should be at Ally Pally (fingers crossed).  This is a fabulous show always so friendly, I look forward to it all year, if you are coming on either day please pop over to the Lili of the Valley Stamp Stand and say hello.  We also have a separate stand this year devoted to the fabulous New Diecuts.

IMG_0842

As usual  everything has been left to the last minute and I still have My Pens, pencils etc to pack, Iron my clothes for Saturday and Sunday, prepare mums food for the day and its now nearly 9pm on Friday Night Heigh Ho I love working under pressure Smile

I am so enjoying using these Xmas Molly Bloom Stamps and the wonderful Gingerbread house was just crying out to be decoupaged, I stamped and coloured the house stamp (the Trees are also part of the stamp) used one as the base then cut out the house lollipops,  and jelly trees and decoupaged them onto the base.

IMG_0845

With the image coloured and 3d’d it then hit me what a great step card this would make so the stamps and markers came out again and I coloured these 2 Molly Bloom Girls.

IMG_0846

For once an idea in my head came out just as I envisaged it,  isn’t it great when that happens.

Well Girls off to de the ironing etc, hope to see lots of you at the show, if your not coming have a lovely weekend, here in the UK a nice sunny and warm weekend is forecast

A Label for a Change

Morning lovely people,  One of the blogs that I visit everyday is that of the super talented Debbie Dolphin my day would not be complete with out my fix,  her creations are always so different and full of inspiration, you can just see how much love she puts into each and everyone of them.   One of her projects a couple of weeks ago was a completely different Label Card and I have been dying to have a go at one for myself.  So here is my take, a long way to go until I reach Debbies standard I know, but I am pleased with what I have made for a first attempt.
IMG_0850
Debbie  uses a Tim Holtzs Large Label Die to make the base for her label,  I don’t own one so I made my base on the Crafters Companion Ultimate Board.  The image is one of the lovely Nellie Sneden Stamps I bought from The Hobby House at Harrogate, it has been coloured with Spectrum Noirs (colours below).  The papers are from Nitwits Still be Joyful collection.
IMG_0851
Also from The Hobby House are the lovely organza and net roses Roses (which I have added stickles to), and the little Paper doily .  The Doo Hickey Swirl Die and Mistletoe Die are from Crafts U Love and have also been covered with Glamour Dust.  Seam Binding and Dew drops from The Ribbon Girl.
IMG_0849

The Spectrum Noir Marker Pens used are:
Flesh 25, 132, 18
Pinks: 147, 196
Blues: 68, 143, 182
Greys: CG2, CG1, CG0.5
Green: 43
Busy Day ahead so must rush
Hugs and thanks for looking

A Festive Fairy

Morning Peeps, hope you all had a good weekend.    Whilst at Harrogate I picked up some Lili of the Valley Die Cut sheets, I thought they would be a good back up if I was stuck for a card, although I haven’t used any of the Die Cuts yet I thought I would have a go at copying the colouring of the Lili of the Valley Festive Fairy Stamp on the  die cuts.  I am so pleased with the results especially as they are not colours I would usually use.

IMG_0834

If you are new to colouring  and have bought Lili of the Valley stamps and are not sure where to start on colour combos I think buying a couple of sheets  of  the the Lili of the Valley Die Cuts would be an excellent idea, they are only £1 a sheet  and there are 6 images per sheet, I wish I had been able to get my hands on them when I first started colouring.

The Card blank was cut with a Go-Kreate Large Frilly Frame No 4 as was the first layer of Backing paper, the snowflake tucked behind the image is a Spellbinders Die, I also made a tag to tuck behind the image which has been cut with Nestie.

IMG_0836

I made 1 latge and 1 small rose with a Marianne Design Die and cut two sets of leaves from Doo Hickey die both dies from Crafts U Love, the Green Ribbon and sweet blossoms are from The Ribbon Girl, and the bell charms are from The Hobby House.

I have looked at Molly Bloom stamps every since they came out and thought “I love them but do I need them”, but whilst at Harrogate I saw so many stunning cards made with the images, especially on the Which Craft and The Hobby House stands I decided I had to have a couple of the Christmas Ones,  this cheeky chappie  just called out to be coloured in Greens and Browns for the challenge.  ,
The papers are from Lost & Found Christmas pad from The Hobby House, the sentiment is from Lili of the Valley Christmas Circular Sentiment stamp set, and the little christmas tree which I have distressed with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and Stickles is a Marianne Designs Die from Crafts U Love.

The Joys of Blogging

I started blogging about 3 years ago after visiting Pink Petticoats website to buy some papers and following the link to their blog,  oh my gosh  the wonderful creations I saw on the blog just  blew me away and  and I knew that I wanted to be able to create stunners like  the ones saw I on there and to be able to share them with other crafters, the first link from the Pink Petticoat Blog I clicked on was to the Fabulous Dawny P’s Blog,  from there I found Andrea Brownjohn, Annie (ink’n rubba), Katharina and Marlene all fantastic crafters who never minded answering all the questions I used to throw at them, I was hooked.  Now I bet you are wondering where this reminiscing is leading,  well this morning I received a fantastic e-mail (it actually brought tears to my eyes) from a lovely lady (you know who you are),  who thanked me for the inspiration I had given her, it just made me realise what a truly fantastic place the card making blogging world is and how much I had gained from that first visit to Dawny P’s blog, 100’s of new friends from around the world, working for 2 fantastic companies, Lili of the Valley, Crafters Companion,  demoing at Shows where I meet such sweet like minded people and also the chance of having my work published in magazines.  I feel really bad that all this has now eaten into my blogging time and I know I am very naughty in leaving comments, (I promise I do visit blogs still though),  but I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you who visit me and to thank the girls who inspired me to start my own blog.

Todays card is one I made for Quick Cards made Easy, which is on sale now so its OK to show it,  I am afraid I made it so long ago I cannot remember which Copics I used.

IMG_0489

I have used  the Lili of the Valley Image “Little Holly” to make this little rocker card, the papers are from Nitwits Collections, the scalloped circles have been cut with Nesties and Go-Kreate dies.  The greeting is also a  stamp from the Lili of the Valley Christmas Circular Sentiment stamp set, The swirl is a Doo Hickey Die from Crafts U Love and I have added lots of stickles.

Have a lovely Saturday

Getting Ready for Autumn

I got up this morning and turned on the News hoping to find that the 4 miners trapped in the Mine in Swansea had been rescued every one seemed so positive last night, but unfortunately that optimism has now started to wain,   I am keeping everything crossed that they will be rescued sometime today, in the meanwhile my thoughts are with the relatives.
On a lighter note today being Friday means its Just Magnolia & hAnglar & stAnglar Challenge, this week our Challenge was chosen by the lovely Jacque, she has given us a brill sketch to work with and also a theme  “Fall is in the Air “.
IMG_0818
I haven’t used this little Tilda before, but think the way her coat is swinging looks as if she is walking in the Autumn Winds.  Not my usual colours for this one but I am pleased with the results.  I have used Pion Papers from Dies to Die For and distressed the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  The Tag I have popped behind the image was a price tag from a Cardigan I bought earlier in the year, I knew it would come in handy.   The fabulous Gold Mesh Ribbon is from The Ribbon Girl, it is so easy to tie into a delicious bow I love it, it also comes in Silver.
IMG_0817
The Leaves and Flowers have been cut with a Magnolia Doo Hickey Die available from Crafts U Love, I have distressed around the edges and added Gold Stickles around the edge of the petals.
IMG_0815
I have posted below the winner of my Lili of the Valley Candy, Mum chose the number late last night so don’t forget to check if you have been lucky
Have a good day

Lili of the Valley Challenge

Morning all, thank goodness that horrible wind has died down and its a bit warmer today hope it lasts.   I wonder how many of you have made a good start on your Christmas Cards already,  theres only about 14 weeks to go for the big day Smile, if you haven’t made a start yet our Theme this week on Lili of the Valley Challenge  may  give you a kick start,  its a colour challenge RED, GREEN and WHITE  just perfect for Christmas, and there is some wonderful inspiration from the Design Team.

IMG_0470

This is my card for the Challenge, I have used Lili of the Valley “Christmas Snooze” for this one.  The papers are from Nitwits Collections, if ever you are struggling to find a matching paper for your card, I would recommend that you visit Nitwits Collections I find it a gold mine for backing papers and can always find a set to match and with the paper packs being so reasonable it doesn’t cost a lot to  build up a library of papers.

Lots of Dies used for this card, Nesties, Marianne Star Ribbon Border, available from Crafts U Love, and Stars are a Die-namics Die from Dies to Die for.

Having a Play with my Harrogate Goodies , and a Little Humphrey gorgeousness

Morning all, I have been having a play with my fabulous new goodies I bought at Harrogate, yes I know I was there to work  but I just had to have a quick look round,  and you know me a look turns into a must buy!!!!!!, I actually didn’t visit many stalls as my first stop was  The Hobby House stand and as usual Jill had the stand looking awesome with an absolute endless supply of must haves, and I spent more than three quarters of my budget on her stand.
IMG_0809
My first buy on The Hobby House stand was 4 lovely Nellie Snellen  stamps, this one is Dawn006, sweet isn’t it and the other 3 are just as gorgeous.  A Couple of weeks ago I was sent the New Fleximarker Pens from Letraset to try but have had so much commissioned work that I have not had time to try them until now, I am in love, these pens are just the tops, the pastel colours are perfect and the nibs!!!!!!! do I need to say more.    I have used a mixture of Fleximarkers and Copics to colour this image. (Colours below).   The papers are from Nitwits Collections , Material Flowers,  Martha Stewart Snowflake Punch, Self Adhesive Gems and Doily are all more of my Hobby House Buys.
IMG_0807

Did you catch the Humphrey Pick of the Day on Ideal World Last Night,  if you didn’t don’t worry ’cos there will be lots of shows on today, Crafters Companion  have pulled all the stops out with this fantastic Christmas Collection, 2 CDs and 2 sets,  of 6 stamps  I had the pleasure of working with this gorgeous collection and just loved every minute of it, even though I didn’t make many cards due to lots of background work I was working on at the time.
IMG_0752
Here is one of them, it was coloured with Spectrum Noirs and the papers were from the twin CD Rom.  Swirls are a Doo Hickey Die, and Snowflakes are also from a  Doo Hickey Die set called Mistletoe, both of which can be purchased from Crafts U Love
