ABC Challenge - Embellishments

The Challenge on ABC Challenge this week is embellishments, I have been really busy over the last few weeks so this is the first time I have been able to join in this challenge. As regular readers of this blog will know I have just started to practise with ProMarkers, but I am finding it hard to give up my Distress Inks. So this week I made two cards using the same sketch by Katharina and thought I would ask you for your opinion as I couldn't chose. The Green, Blue and Orange card is coloured with Distress inks and H20's the papers are Crate paper. This cute stamp has been designed by our very talented fellow blogger Janet and distributed by Spiral Whisper Stamps why don't you visit both of these great blogs, some fantastic items on there. The Mauve and Blue card has been coloured with the ProMarkers and the DP's are by Lili of the Valley

The Dp is Basic Grey Euphoria Collection and is matted onto green and mauve basic carstock from SU the sentiment is also from SU. I have not got any mauve flowers to match at the moment so I punched some from the same DP's. The Swirl was cut on the Cricut with the Home Accents cartridge. The rest is from stash.

A Spoonful of Sugar - Recycle

It is a well know fact that Crafters never throw anything away so the challenge on A Spoonful of Sugar this week is ideal RECYCLE. There ia a fab prize of a paperpack and fairy stamps from Dotty Do Crafts.I have used the lovely Honey & Pip stamp by the very talented Elizabeth Bell and available at Funky Kits She has been coloured using Distress Inks and H20's (surprise, surprise he!he!). It is a very plain card but I am so pleased with it (now how often do you hear me say that) The ovals have all been cut using my Nesties and I have actual raised the largest oval with foam spacers. The recycle bit is the thin red ribbon, these were the hanging straps from my red dressing gown, the first thing I do when I get new items of clothing is cut these straps out and add them to my ribbon stash. The Christmas Tree charm, jump rings and sticky back pearls are from my stash. TFL

Hula Hula Bug

This is my first attempt using Promarkers, I really enjoyed colouring with them they just seem to glide over the paper and are quite easy to blend. I will not be giving up my Distress Inks but will certainly have another go at using these. I bought my markers from Silly Monkey Crafts and I think they are the cheapest around. I am quite pleased with it as a first attempt, would appreciate your views and any tips would be appreciated.

The Beach Background and the dressing-up bugs are both from alota Rubber Stamps, I am totally hooked on their stamps now. Backing papers are basic Grey Cupcake and flowers are from Poppicraft. Forgot to mention that the sky and sand on the background are shimmer chalks.

Friday Sketchers Challenge - Sketch by Kimmie

Friday Sketchers have a great new sketch by Kimmie for us this week, and Phebe from The Town Scrappers is offering 3 great High Hopes Stamps as a prize.

I have used two of the new release High Hope stamps for this card, don't you think this little magician is gorgeous and he was such fun to colour. I expect you will have noticed I am having a bright period at the moment, maybe something to do with the weather, Roberto has been coloured with Distress Inks and H2O's and layered onto Basic Grey DP. The spacers were sent to me by my kind friend Donalda, Flowers and Button from Poppiraft and Ribbon from July Kit by Raspberry Ribbons.

I have invested in a few!!!!!ProMarkers and I wonder if anyone can help me with a little problem, I have used Stazon to ink my stamps but find that it can bleed, I have a Memories Ink Pad but this seems to do the same, is there any special paper I should be using to stop this happening.

I am so glad the weather is not so humid It is so much better for stamping now, my craft room is in the loft so it has been stifling and impossible to craft, will have to spend a few days catching up on all the kind people who have left comments over the last week, and don't forget you have until tomorrow to enter for my blog candy.

The lovely base card is from SU Bold & Bright collection, Dp are Basic Grey, I have attached the image onto a fab Prima Flower, I love these flowers but being so big you are limited to how you can use them, image has been coloured with Distress inks and H20's. I have also used buttons and ribbons from Poppicraft the flowers are Rub-ons from Basic Grey and the sentiment is from SU.

High Hopes Heaven

Oh wow my High Hopes order from Canada came today and the new release stamps are fantastic. I had great service from Tina at High Hopes, and the stamps were so reasonable with the Dollar Pound exchange rate, I cannot recommend them enough so why not go and have a look at their great site here
On Guard Obrto, Treasure Map, Polly and sentiment are all from the new Pirate release and have been coloured with Distress Inks and H20's. I stamped the map with the Frayed Burlap ink and then dragged the colour out with the waterbrush, not sure if it was successful, tore the paper and rolled the corners. Dp are Basic Grey. Brads from Poppycraft.

Whiff of Joy - Guest Designer Challenge
