Christmas Morning

WHIFF OF JOY CHALLENGE - CHRISTMAS CARD (NO BLUE)

I am back for good, I hope, BT assure me they have sorted the problem, wish they could sort out my brain, made a real mess of this weeks challenge so have had to make another card this morning.

Well our challenge on Whiff of Joy this week is a christmas card but no blue allowed. Pop over to see the great cards by my fellow DT members and a really gorgeous card by our Guest designer Shary. Just clickHere to take you to the challenge site. Looking forward to seeing your fabulous creations.

This is a very quick card I am afraid as now I am back on-line I have loads of blog hopping to catch up on.
The cute Charlie with his Presents is of course a WOJ stamp designed by Alison Acton, he has been coloured with, tattered Rose, Fired brick, Pine Needles, Frayed Burlap and Dried Marigold Distress Inks and highlighted with H20's. The papers are all Basic Grey. I cannot remember where I got the embellies from as I had them last year and there were just loose in my Christmas Box.

Once upon a time and Blue Christmas

A CARD FOR A CHILD

Wow talk about co-incidence I was asked to make a fairytale card for a friends little girl, this fits the bill perfectly with our challenge this week on < A Spoonful of Sugar

This may be a quick post not sure how long the internet is going to let me have access for today, I couldn't get access to the net until 5.30 this evening, but I understand there are a lot of you out there having the same problem.

I am not sure if I like this card not really my sort of thing but I stuck to the brief I was given by my friend for her daughters brithday card. The fairytale castle was cut out three times with a sizzix die then 3d with Pinflair glue gel, if you havn't tried this magic glue I recommend it, it sticks anything. The Dragon and Knight stamp are by High Hopes from Silly Monkeys, and the little princess is a Whipper Snapper stamp, all have been coloured with Distress Inks and H20's, they have also been cut out and 3d with the above glue gel as have the clouds which are from a Magnolia background stamp. The sentiment is another High Hopes stamp.

WHIFF OF JOY - LIZZIE WITH MUFF

Another card for fun cannot stop playing with these gorgious new WOJ stamps. I cannot remember where I got the sketch for this card, but I love it and have used it quite a few times, the DP are all Basic Grey Lily Kate, must order another pad of these gorgious papers. Lizzie has been coloured with Distress inks, I have been asked what colours I use so will try to remember to name them everytime, The inks are Tim Holtz Tattered Rose, Faded Jeans, Antique Linen and Tea Dye, her fur has been dusted with Galmour Dust. The flowers are from stash as is ribbon, leaves were punched with Ash Branch punch.

Magnolia vs Stamapavie & Friday Sketcher

Magnolia vs Stampavie

*Week 2* Clean & Simple
A Nice Clean simple stream line look to be used on your project this week.
& No more than 3 Colours to be used in total!
Don't forget you are free to make anything you wish,
Be it a Card, ATC, Altered Art, Scrapbook page etc, A lovely stamp on offer this week and some great cards from my fellow DT members to be seen if you click HERE.

Three Colours only!!! thats a hard one for me, I decided to use Red, Black and White not my colours at all (no pink or mauve), but I am quite pleased how it turned out. I Firstly cover white base card with a Penny Black sentiment stamp then tore it into a rough square, the cute Magnolia Father Christmas Holding present was coloured with Copic markers and a little glitter, then cut out and 3'd onto the stamped base with Silcone Glue, I used black and deep red base card some scarp black paper and red sequin waste to layer up the card and added Poppicrafts Poinsettia flowers. Hope you like.

Friday Sketchers

Friday Sketchers Challenge has a really unusual sketch this week, I loved using this one. Pop over to the challenge and check ot the cards made by the DT, they are so different so plenty of ideas there

Another lovely Lizzie stamp from Elizabeth Bell available at Whiff of Joy, she has been coloured with Distress Inks and H20's, I have tried to keep this simple as the sketch is brilliant and I didn't want to distract from the cute Lizzie either, the snowflakes have been punched with Sizzix and Fiskars punches then glitter added. The paper is from Bo Bunny and sentiment from SU

Well I have been at it all afternoon and I have come up with 3 cards for you, all stamped with my delicious new Whiff of Joy winter release The first one is for the the great sketch on Sketch Saturday Challenge. Donna has donated a lovely Sarah Kay stamp as a prize this week, so its well worth joining in, the DT have outdone themselves so click HERE to take you to the blog and check it out.

Say Hi to Teenage Lizzie, she is of course designed by the fabulous Elizabeth Bell and may become my favourite of the new WOJ releases. She has been coloured with Distress Inks, The Dp are some I have hanging around my desk for the last couple of days and have been matted onto grey Brazzil Bling cardstock, the flowers are the new releases from Poppicraft, hearts were cut with Sizzix die. Sentiment is also from the WOJ winter release.

ONE FOR FUN

This one is not for any challenge, I just couldn't resist stamping and colouring her. Don't forget she is now available on the Whiff of Joy Shop, Katharina has some special offers running and is also capping the postage. Once these have gone thats it she will not be getting anymore so know is the time to get your order in.

The image has been coloured with Distress Inks, and cut with circle nestie. The love paper is from My Minds Eye. I have cut 3 trees from a spare peice of the DP and 3d with silicone glue. The flowers and glittered stars are by Prima and Sentiment is another from the WOJ Winter Collection

THE SECRET CRAFTER

Another lovely sketch for us, I do love these sketch challenges, and another cute Snowman. No need to tell you where he comes from think you have the message now. This weeks sketch has been designed by Wendy and is one I will use again click Here to take you to the challenge blog and check out the DT inspiration

This time Herb has been coloured with Copic Markers the papers are again a mixture from my stash. The sentiment is another from the new WOJ release. Black and White Christmas - Penny Black Saturday Challenge

PENNY BLACK SATURDAY CHALLENGE

Sentiment Only

This week we thought we'd make it a little tricker and get you to think outside the box and get those brain cells working.

We'd like to see your creations with NO IMAGES !!!
Just a PB Sentiment Stamp.
There is a lovely Sentiment Stamp on offer this week so please come and join us. The new DT is well and truly up and running and they have made some fabulous and different cards for you this week, click Here to see their work and to find out more about this weeks challenge

Most of you who know me will be surprised to see a plain card, I do go for colour and embellie overload, but I do quite like this one and Tracie asked us to work out of our comfort zone. I have layered up Black BC, with Silver Mirror Card (which is not something I use very often) then embossed the Christmas Tree in the Cuttlebug Embossing folder. I have added self stick Red gems and silver stickles to the tree. The sentiment just called out to be cut into a triangle (tree shape) after matting onto more Silver Mirror card, I used 3d pads to attach to the corner and just finished off with the swirl ribbon.
The photo is not very good, going to have to find out how to photograph mirror card before I do another one like this.
I am now off to stamp some new rubba that arrived this morning, yes My Whiff of Joy stamps arrived half an hour ago he! he!. They even better IRL.

Blue Angel - Cute Card Thursday

ANGELS AND FAIRIES
Cute Card Thursday's challenge this week couldn't be better for me Angels and Fairies, just love both of these. The DT members obviously feel the same because they have produced some absolutely fabulous card for us, click HERE and see for yourself

This is my all time favourite stamp, she is a Precious Moments Christmas Angel, there is a set of them but this is the only one I have been able to get, she is very precious to me. There is not a lot of colouring to do on this image just the shading on her dress and wings, and of course her hair and face, I have used Copic markers this time. I have run Broken China Distress Inks round the sides of the cut out image and stamped and embossed Stempleglede Swirls on the sides. The paper is from Dovecraft paper pack, the large snowflake is from Imaginise, and small snowflakes punched with Fiskars snowflake punch and glittered. I have just added some pearls and stick on gems for a bit of sparkle and she is finished off with one of Marlenes fantastic bead angel charms, these are so beautiful thank you Marlene.

Two Pretty Girls - WOJ and Stampavie

Whiff of Joy - Sketch by Heather

PHEW!!!!!!! I am back on line, Yesterday I was worried I was going to lose my blog, I was denied access all day to Google, so couldn't access mine or your blogs, a message kept telling me to delete all Google sites, and that if I did so I would lose all saved data. OMG I just couldn't bring myself to do it. Luckly I didn't cos when I tried this morning I got straight back on here. Yipeee!!!!!

Well now down to todays posts my first card is my DT card for Whiff of Joy Challenge, where we have a lovely sketch by Heather for you to follow. I am still having problems with these Sarah Kay stamps, and I have noticed whilst blog hopping that I am not the only one. This was the best image I attained after spending ages stamping up this image time and again. She has been coloured in the same way as the above image. The papers are BG I just love this christmas set. The gorgeous large sparkling snowflakes are from the Snowy Joe collection from Imaginise, the small snowflakes have been punched with a Fiskars punch and glitterd, I added red self adhesive gems to the middle of these. The two ribbons are from stash, the large silver bead ends are from e-bay

Spoonful of Sugar - Snowman

A Spoonful of Sugar - Challenge 24 Sketch by Trina

This week we have a great Sketch by our DT member Trina for you. Also a great prize donated by Bryony from Silly Monkey Crafts a set of Promarkers, so what are you waiting for pop over to A Spoonful of Sugar Challenge Blog and join in the fun. My fellow DT members have created some fabulous cards to get you started.

Trinas sketch was just right for a card I had been commissioned to make, I was asked for a large card suitable for a family. I don't like making large cards, much safer staying with my 6" x 6", so was struggling until I saw this. I have matted green card and Bo Bunny paper onto the Red base card, red paper was then punched with MSDP. The Sugar Nellie Snowman was coloured with Distress Inks and lots of H2o's, the background was stamped and embossed with a snowflake stamp and gold crystal EP then layered onto green card, I attached to the BC with foam pads. The ribbons are from stash and sentiment is a Penny Black Stamp. I hope it fulfils the commission.

Magnolia Vs Stampavie and Cute Card Thursday

Magnolia vs Stampavie Challenge No 1

We have a sketch for the first challenge on Donnas new Blog, at Magnolia vs Stampavie. Hope all the regular Tilda & Co and Sarah Kay followers will join us on this new combined blog. The winners of the blog candy hunt have been posted on the blog so pop over HERE to check if you have been lucky and also to find details of this weeks challenge and the great examples from my fellow DT members. Donna has donated a fabulous prize this week a £20 voucher to spend in her great webstore Crafty Krafts so what are you waiting for

At last a card I am pleased with, I have had a really hetic and horrible time since Wednesday and have had to rush all my cards and projects since then, I am very unhappy with them and feel like taking them all off of the blog, I usually take a lot of time with my cards and like to have a perfect finish, and I know they havn't been up to standard so apologies.

Anyway back to this card, I have coloured the lovely Christmas Tilda with Copics, the backing papers are from the Making Memories Fa La La collection available from Crafts u Love, I have embossed the red card with the Snowflake Folder in the CB, The fancy red flowers are Prima and the poinsettias are from Poppicrafts. The little bead caps have Emerald Stickles added to the middle. Hope you like this one.

and now

Cheers - Cute Card Thursday and WOJ DT Card

The theme this week on Cute Card Thursday, is Cheers, I just love the challenges the girls at CCT come up with and try never to miss a week, Don't forget to pop over to the challenge blog and see the great cards from the DT.

Don't you just love this Charlie 007 from Whiff of Joy, what a great mans card it makes and just right for this challenge. It is my eldest son Matthews birthday next week and as he thinks of himself as "a man about town" I thought this would make a perfect card for him.
Charlie has been coloured with distress inks. The layout is an adaptation of one of Katharinas sketches which just seems to fit this image perfectly, I cut the image, a grey and a black oval with Nesties and layered them up, I used a Stempleglede swirl stamp on the edges of the image oval. The papers are Bohemia and Scarlet Letter, I have not got a plain corner die (anyone with suggestions of where to get one please), so had to make this corner by eye. The sentiment which is also a WOJ stamp has been embossed with Silver Embossing powder and cut with Nesties. Buttons from Stash.

I would like to take this chance to thank all the wonderful people that leave such lovely comments on here, when things are not so good these comments really give me a lift and mean so much, love you all. I will REALLY try to cath up with you all today, thanks again for sticking with me

Whiff of Joy - Project of the Month

Katharina set us a project this month to make a candle, this is a great idea for those small christmas gifts that we have to buy every year.
Well!!! panic is not the word, I have never attempted one of these before but was surprised how easy it was to do in the end. I thought I would also make a little keyring to go with this gift.
My dear friend and fellow DT member Bev has comprehensive instructions on how to make the candle on her fabulous blog and as she is much better at tutorials than Moi click on her name to find out more.

The keyring is really easy I cut the shrink plastic with the 3rd smallest circle nestie, then inked up my Whiff of Joy, Willow with Cookies stamp making sure I only inked the small area I needed and I tried to fade the ink near the edge of her arms so as it didn't have a hard edge. Make sure you punch a hole at the top (not to near the edge) before you shrink the circle, to attach it to the key ring, once shrunk I added little gems round the edge and a large red heart charm I have had for ever.

Finally I wrapped the candle in Florist cellophane (another gift from Bev, what would I do without you hun) and tied a big bow with florist ribbon attached the key ring and tore and curled the long ends of the ribbon.
Don't forget to visit the rest of the WOJ DT team to see their fantastic Candles, I am afraid they put mine to shame.

Seasons Greetings - Penny Black Saturday Challenge

Get Sparkly/Bonfire Night - Challenge 21
Bonfire Night is on the horizon so this weeks challenge invites you to come up with a sparkly card. It is not necessary to have a firework or bonfire scene, anything as long as its sparkly. I know we will get loads of different interpretations from you, your inventiveness always surprises me. We also have some news on the new DT Members so click HERE to check out this weeks prize, news and of course the challenge.

I am afraid I don't have the imagination of my fellow DT members and could only think of a Sparkly Christmas Card for this challenge. This is a new PB stamp I got from Sir Stampalot, my favourite stamp supplier such brilliant service and so many stamps. I wish you could see the fabulous Foiled Holly paper IRL it is scrummy, I bought it from Crafts U Love. The red leather effect paper behind the image has been punched with MSDP, the image has been coloured with Distress Inks and H20's with loads of galmour dust added. Flowers are from Poppicraft, and snowflake stamp by Kelly Panacci and available at the Craft Barn, thank you Chris!!. Hope you all have a great weekend and didn't get too spooked last night
