2 for Christmas

DT Triangle Card for Whiff of Joy

I must explain the amount of cards I have shown this week, I am not superwoman I assure you, some of them have been made for a few days or even a week, I have been trying to get ahead of myself as I am the worlds worse for leaving things to the last minute.

When these gorgeous Whiff of Joy Santa and Lizzie stamps plopped through the letter box I thought I was in heaven they are just so perfect for those cute Family Christmas cards. You too can own these fabulous images as they are now on sale on the Whiff of Joy Website.

I picked up the template for this Triangular card at Ally Pally, it is really easy to cut out and assemble and I was going to recommend it to you all, but I couldn't find the supplier anywhere on the packaging typical, I just rip things open to get them when I have anything new, a habit I must get out of.

The paper is again from The Hobby House and were bought at AP. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the Prima pearls were bought from The Glitterpot.

I have coloured all the images with Copics and added Polar White Flowersoft for the fur.

The Sentiment is from JustRite designs.

Lili of the Valley Challenge

This week on Lili of the Valley Challenge we would like you to make a Christmas Card for a Child, now isn't that easy so hope we have lots of entries this fortnight, don't forget it is not necessary to use Lili of the Valley Projects on your card our Challenge is open to all and we are looking for a GDT member to join us for the next 4 challenges this time. Its is the last challenge our fab guest designer Paula is with us I would like to thank Paula for the fab cards she has produce for us.

I have used one of the fabulous stamps from the Lili of the Valley Christmas Bunnies Collection, I know I keep saying it but I just cannot believe the value of these stamps £3.95 honest can you believe it.

Copics have been used on this card, and lots of added glitter, the papers are Basic Grey from last year, the snowflakes have been punched with MS Snowflake Punch and the delish charm is a RAK from Bev.

Don't for get to join us tomorrow for the Wags'n Whiskers Blog Hop, lots of lovely prizes WhoooHoooo!!!!!!

Another Wags'nWhiskers Sneak Peek

Hope you enjoyed viewing all the sneak peeks yesterday, fabulous stamps aren't they, well to-day I am showing Furry Friends Designed by Crissy Armstrong for Wags'n Whiskers, don't forget to visit my fellow DT Divas blogs to see more fabulous cards, not long to wait now before you can order them (Friday in fact).

Now the moment I first saw these 3 little furballs I thought what a fantastic Hen Night Card they would make, they are just so much fun all dressed up in their finery ready to hit the town.

I have used Copics to colour the image, and just had to add that Princess crown charm to the bling pooch, I added Perfect Pearls for the necklace. The papers are basic grey, flowers from Tabbycrafts, and Hen Night sentiment was computer generated, I used Nesties to cut the Image and the sentiment, and a corner punch from The Hobby House for the Pink Corners.

Don't forget to join in our Great Wags'n Whiskers Blog Hop, tomorrow, there will be lots of prizes and some great cards on show, a full list of the participants can be found on Wags'n Whiskers Blog, from where the blog hop will start. Looking forward to seeing you there

Inky Impressions Challenge

Thank you to those who participated in last weeks challenge to make a gift. We had some wonderful entries last week. We love looking at all the awesome talent out there.

Since fall is here, Today's challenge is to use Inky Impressions stamp/images to make a card/project using Fall or Halloween Colors. There are a lot of different fun color combinations you could use. So come on and join the fun. We would LOVE to see what you create. You must pop over and see the fabulous creations using these colours by my fellow DT members just click Here to take you straight to the challenge blog.

I know I used this gorgeous little Inky Impressions Fairy Lili stamp yesterday but I am just in love with her. She has again been coloured with Distress Inks (Dusty Concord, Peeled Paint, Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick and Tea Dye). The image and backing card have been cut with a set of New Nesties Labels I bought at Ally Pally, the papers are from Pink Petticoat Spooky Doodles CD, I have used MS border punch and added a lovely rose which was a RAK from dear Tab.

Sunday Sketch and Stamp

I have so been needing sketches this week to give me inspiration and the one on Sunday Sketch and Stamp fills the bill perfectly, I love the way the image is placed off centre.

This is CC design Apple Emma available from Bunny Zoes Crafts, where there is a 25% reduction on all CC Design Stamps, so don't delay go straight away to get your hands on this little beauty. She has been coloured with Distress Inks (Tea Dye, Peeled Paint, Shabby Shutters, Dried marigold, Tattered Rose, Frayed Burlap and Worn Lipstick). The papers are from Hobby House, the Butterflies are die cuts from Panduro Hobbies, I must order some more, their delivery is not the quickest but I just love these butterflies so am willing to wait.

Don't forget The New Lizzie and Santa stamps by Elizabeth Bell are now available from Whiff of Joy, they are great little stamps , I have a card to post tomorrow using 2 of the little Santas, if you haven't seen all the images don't forget you can visit the Whiff of Joy Gallery on the website.

A Spoonfull of Sugar Challenge

Morning everyone, well October the month of "mists and mellow fruitfullness" is truly with us now and of course the month also brings with it thoughts of ghosts and ghouls as Halloween approaches, so we have a topical challenge for you on A Spoonfull of Sugar Challenge HALLOWEEN. The Dt have as usual created some fabulous cards for you, we do hope you will join us again this week.

Thanks for all the comments on my Tutorial and I will have another one next week featuring colouring of faces and clothes. Now onto todays card for A Spoonfull of Sugar Challenge, I have used one of Mo's from Mo's Digital Pencil's fantastic images for my card this week (isn't it fantastic that we may soon be able to buy these images as stamps yooohoooo). This little one reminds me of my GS Owen so much so I was pleased to be able to use it, I have coloured the image with Copics and used My Minds Eye Papers, the great ribbon is from Bunny Zoes Crafts, and the sentiment is from a clear Penny Black Set.

Sorry I keep forgetting to take a piccie of the Copics, I will do so this morning at some time.

Everybody Art Challenge

What a pleasure it was to be asked to be GDT for Everybody Art Challenge this week, thank you girls so much for asking me and especially Tina for giving us such a fabulous sketch to work with.

Now isn't this little Fairy Lili image from Inky Impressions sweet, Inky Impressions stamps are just so easy to work with the rubber is really deeply etched so you get a fabulous impression everytime and I just adore the cuteness of Lili. I have coloured the image with Distress Inks (Tea Dye, Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick, Shabby Shutters) and added glitter to the wings (I am not sure that I like the glitter, I very rarely use coloured glitter on images and looking at this I now know why). Picked up the papers from The Hobby House stand at Ally Pally and I just love them they are so soft. The flowers have been sprayed with Pearl Glimmer Mist as usual, the large rose is available from
Tabbycrafts.

Be back tomorrow with a sneak peek of a Wags'n Whiskers Image!!!!!!!!

Distress Ink Tutorial

Colouring Henry

As promised I have tried to compose a distress ink colouring tutorial, now this is the first time I have ever attempted to do anything like this and I am no expert but I hope you can understand this and it helps with your colouring, this is just the way I do it and I am sure you will find lots of better composed tutorials on the blog. This tutorial was for colouring dear Whiff of Joy Christmas Henry, I chose to use Henry as an example as he only uses a couple of colours and I wanted to start simple, if you would like me to do another showing how I colour faces, hair and clothing I am quite willing now I have done one, just let me know as I have one half prepared.

These are my essentials, my beloved Fabriano HP Watercolour Paper Pad, available from Artifolk, it is quite expensive but well worth it, a fine brush (I like the size of this waterbrush but I do not fill up the tank with water as I like to have more control on the wet/dryness of the brush). A pad of kitchen roll, a plain white tile and of course distress ink pads or re-inkers, and last but not least Stazon Jet Black Ink a must !!!!!!!

I press the edges of the ink pads I will be using onto the tile, the little puddle in the middle is a couple of drops from a Tea Dye re-inker (my pad had run out).

Making sure your brush is just slightly damp pick up a little of the chosen ink and go around the edges of the feature to be coloured with a thin line of colour (here it is Tea Dye), wipe the brush on the kitchen roll and with soft circular movements spread the ink out wiping your brush often, when you have the effect you want just use the almost dry brush to make sure there is no harsh lines.

Here is the effect you are looking for.

Repeat the same process on the body and ears of Henry.

Again repeat for the tail. Then just build up the colour around the edges of the body head and ears just adding small amount of colour each time remembering to blend the edges

To get the right shade of pink for the ears and checks I blend a very small amount of Worn Lipstick ink with Tattered Rose, applying to the cheeks with little dots then joining them up with circular motions starting from the middle wiping the brush often work out towards the edges then back in again to soften edges. Apply a light wash of diluted Tea Dye ink to the tummy.

I have again gone around the edges with Tea Dye ink just to give good definition, ( I have would normally blend this a lot more so there was not such a definite change between the light and dark but I left it slightly unblended to help give you the idea) and following all the same rules add Worn Lipstick to the edge of the heart and then spread out.

And here is the finished Henry, hope this has helped you if you have any queries please ask me and if you would like anything included in the next tutorial that you may think I have skipped over please let me know, as I said this is my first tutorial and I am sure there are lots of gaps in here.

Finally my Finished card made with Henry, sorry about the dull colours, he is actually the colour of the image above but I couldn't get the lighting right as it was dark when I finished the card.

One for Fun and Some exciting news

To Join in with my Whiff of Joy Candy and Blog hop just click on the picture on the side bar or scroll down to the next post.

Good Morning everyone hope you are all having a brilliant weekend, I cannot believe the weather we are having for early October, I woke up to the sun shining through the window and it is already quite warm outside makes me really want to get up and go, especially after my week of indolence last week. Sometimes I really just enjoy having the time to make a card just for fun, with that in mind I have decided to step down from a couple of Challenge DT posts, but if you read the news below I have taken on another Company DT post. I am hoping to have more time doing the things I miss like visiting all your blogs and actually leaving comments and also inking up some of the Rubba that has lain in its packaging for the last few months.

So here we go with this card made just for fun, Mrs Snowman has been coloured with Distress Inks (Broken China, Weathered Wood, Worn Lipstick, Peeled Paint), I havn't forgotten my promise of a Distress Ink Colouring Tutorial and am working on it today.

The papers are Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses and the stamp is High Hopes Snowlady Surprise, these are both available from Bunny Zoes Crafts, Nikki has some really fabulous High Hopes Christmas Stamps in stock at the moment so don't forget to pop over and give them a peek. The sentiment stamp is by JustRite and has been cut with Circle Nestie. I used the base pink card to punch the snowflakes with Martha Stewart Punches

Now for my good news (in fact it is fantastic news) and it has been so hard to keep it to myself for the last few weeks. My dear friend's Nikki and Lacey, have started their own Stamp Company manufacturing stamps designed by the Uber Uber talented Crissy Armstrong, the company is called .........

I was amazed and honoured as well as extremely excited to be asked to be a member of their DT Divas Team, didn't take a second for me to say yes, and since seeing the fabulous designs Crissy has come up with and the other fantastically talented Divas I am even more delighted. I hope you will love them as much as I do and don't forget to join in our fabulous opening and Blog Hop next weekend, The DT will be posting sneak peeks for two days later this week I am so looking forward to hearing what you think of the new stamps.

Autumn Birthday

We have another fabulous challenge for you this week and it is rather fitting the weather we have been having recently....

AUTUMN BREEZES

As always you can create a card....altered art..bag...notebook...scrapbook layout...etc ...the only RULE being that you use at least one Penny Black image or sentiment.
If you don't have any Autumny Penny Blacks......don't worry....just go with autumn colours
And we have a fabulous prize for one lucky winner this week very generously donated by our lovely teamie CAROLE

I thought I was going to be stuck on this one as I don't own an even remotely autumnal Penny Black, but after I had chosen to use these delicious Bo Bunny Paper from The Hobby House, this vintage PB Xmas stamp showed promise, and I must admit I am pleased with the result. I have used copics to colour the image (and have just realised I have left a little square on the blue balloon uncoloured, Doh!!). I have mounted all the papers and image onto dark brown card, the leaves have been punched with a MS Branch Punch from the same card. I am not sure where the large flower came from, the spacer and pearl brad didn't really match the flower very well so I coloured both with a dark brown copic.

Don't forget to pop over to Whiff of Joy challenge Blog at 11am this morning to start our Whiff of Joy Birthday Blog Hop, the DT are all offering a little Candy of their own on the Hop and Katharina has donated a fantastic prize for one lucky winner. Hope to see you at 11am.

Just Magnolia Challenge

Week 25 - Special Monthly Challenge - Flowers

Following on from the tutorial that was posted yesterday On Just Magnolia Challenge, we are having a special challenge this week based around the tutorial. If you don’t have the die (none of the DT did) please don’t worry – all we ask is that your creation has hand made flowers, cut with a die, or punched or even cut out by hand. This Special Monthly Challenge is sponsored by Simon Says Stamp, and the prize is a $50 voucher to spend in their shop on anything that takes your fancy.

Firstly I must apologise for my lack of blogging this week, I came home from Ally Pally with not only lots of bags of crafty goodies (OMG I was very naughty!!), but also managed to pick up a really rotten bug, I didn't manage to climb out of my pit until 4pm yesterday afternoon and hadn't turned on the PC since last Friday so I have lots of catching up and thanking to do today. Anyway Ally Pally was fabulous it was so nice to see so many of the lovely friends I have made this last year, it didn't feel as if I was talking to people I had never met before I felt I knew you all, I just wish I had more time to talk to all of you, I would like to say a special thank you to Christine, Jo, Kim, Caz, Debby, Marlene, Bev and Rach for making the whole weekend two days to remember.

Well down to this weeks card, I didn't have the dies that Michele used on her fabulous Tutorial so I searched the web for some ideas and found this fantastic tutorial for a lovely and easy rose, just click Here, if you would like to have a go at the rose.

This cute Tilda is another from the New Yummy Tummy Release, she reminds me of the little girls in the books my Mum used to read to me when I was very young. The papers are again from Nannas Nursery (this pad is almost finished now and I will really must go and order some more it has been my most used pad this year). Tilda has been coloured with Distress Inks as usual, although it doesn't show very well the flower was made with light pink card and has been sprayed with Pearl Glimmer Mist and I have added a couple of drops of glaze to appear like dewdrops. The Pearl pins were made by myself with some beads from my stash added to long stemmed Bridal Pins.

I have two bits of news to tell you about today, Whiff of Joy Challenge will be having a blog hop tomorrow starting from the Challenge home page at 10 am (GMT), there will be lots of candy on offer on the way around the blog hop and something extra special for one lucky winner so don't forget to join us.

The other piece of news is about a brand new stamp company that has been started by my very good friend Nikki from Bunny Zoes has joined forces with the lovely Lacey Stephens from across the Atlantic Ocean to create their own Stamp Company Wags 'n Whiskers Rubber Stamps

These gorgeous images are of Nikki and Laceys children and pets and are brought to life by the super talented artist Crissy Armstrong!!

Pre-orders will begin in the UK on Bunny Zoes Crafts website on October 9th!!!! Be sure to keep up with latest news, sneak peaks, guest call and blog hop info by going over to visit the Company Blog. One lucky person will win the full release too!

Phew that was a long one, hope to see you for the blog hop tomorrow.
