Happy New Year - and a Card

Hi Everyone, hope you all had a fantastic Christmas with Family and Friends, I am still getting over a frantic 3 days. I must apologise for not getting round to visit everyone and leaving Christmas Greetings, we had a family crisis the week before Christmas, but things are looking brighter now, thank goodness. Some of you already know my eldest, Matthew, was diagnosed with a rotten condition and I feared the worse, but he is to have his Gall Bladder removed as soon as the holidays are over and hopefully things will not be quite so bad for him after that.
I made this card before Christmas but as my mind was on other things it never got posted
.

I originally made it for Sketch Saturday No 30 Challenge, so I am still going to enter it for this weeks challenge which is use any sketch from this year.
This little cutie is one of the new Elizabeth Bell images from Sugar Nellie, she has been coloured with Copics in shades of cool greys. The swirls around the edge of the image are a Stempleglede stamp. Papers are Basic Grey and flowers are a mixture of Prima and Retro Punch. Ribbons are from Stash

Just in case I don't post before the new year I would like to send you all

Pop Up Bunny - Penny Black Saturday

Wow!! cannot believe I have actually managed to make a card at last. Thanks everyone who has left me messages and comments so sorry I have not been able to reply to you all, I have had the busiest week ever, Company everyday, plus looking after the Grandsons in turn so as their poor Mums can have at least one stress free shopping day. Hope all your christmas prep is well underway now. I think mine is all done although our Christmas Day will actually be on 27th the only date the whole family can get together, 16 of us, where are we all going to sit he!he!.

Our challenge on Penny Black Saturday Challenge this week is to make a multifold card, so I have resorted to my favourite Pop Up shape this week. The PB Samps have been coloured with Copics and cut with Labels Nesties and matted onto lilac Mirraboard and card, the butterfly backing card is from Redhot Bed and the butterflies and Dragonfly have been cut out from the same card, one of the butterflies has been stuck onto the end of a very narrow strip of acetate that has been glued to the back of the card.

I hope I will have time to make at least one more card before Christmas as I am having terrible withdrawel symptoms, but just in case I don't I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has visited my blog this year, your lovely comments have kept me going through some rough times, and the wonderful friendships I have made mean so much to me.

SO I WOULD LIKE TO WISH YOU ALL A VERY HAPPY CHRISTMAS AND A WONDERFUL NEW YEAR

and look forward to seeing all your great creations and making more friendships next year.
Big Hugs to you all xxxxxx

Sketch Saturday

At last the Tree is up and decorated, I began to think I would never manage it this year. I thought I had finished with Christmas Cards after I had sent the Magnolia Challenge card below to Donna, but what popped through my letter box on Saturday, this adorable Sugar Nellie Elizabeth Bell stamp from Funky Kits, well come on could you resist colouring her just once. She hs been coloured with Copics, and cut out with the New Nesties, the papers are My Minds Eye and I have tried to pick out all the colours in my colouring. Snowflakes are punched and scalloped edge is MSDP.

Magnolia Vs Stampavie

Its is another sketch from Donna this week on Magnolia Vs Stampavie, this is the last challenge for the year and will run until 4th January. There is another lovely prize of a set of Copics for the winner. So pop along and join in.

This really is the last Christmas Card (fingers crossed), cannot wait to get back to creating "normal" cards. My mind went blank when I first saw the sketch, and I really didn't know what I could put in the little circles, searched through my Magnolias and found this little bird who makes a perfect christmas Robin, and he fitted just right. He has again been coloured with Copics adde some Flowersoft to the bottom of the circle to give the impression of snow. Papers are Basic Grey, Flower from Prima and the Let It Snow sentiment is a Sizzix Die.

Winter Willow and Helpful Friend

The challenge this week on Whiff of Joy Challenge will be the last before Christmas, the new challenge will start on 7th January. The theme is for a last minute Christmas Card but using no RED or GREEN. Katharina from Whiff of Joy has donated the fabulous Lizzie with Muff stamp as a prize for this challenge, thank you so much Katharina. So to be in with a chance to win this fabulous stamp and to see the DT cards just click HERE

I spent the whole of yesterday writing the greetings and envelopes for all my cards, thought I was finished but have found I still have 6 more to make, so this is the first of the 6 only 5 more to go.

Willow wih Lantern has been coloured with Copics, think I have got the hang of them now, really pleased with how this turned out, so if like me you were finding it hard to get the hang of the copics just keep going. The papers are all from the Forever Friends christmas paper pack, The oval frame was cut using the scalloped and plain oval nesties. I have punched three different papers with the MSDP and layered them up under the ribbon, the corners are cut on Cricut, as were the swirls which I have glued and glittered after cutting them. Rest from Stash

Stamping with Stampavie and
Basic Grey Challenge

This weeks theme is vintage on Stamping with Stampavie, My fellow Dt members have produce some beautiful cards for your inspiration so click HERE and take a look

Gone back to my beloved Distress Inks for this one, nothing does vintage better. The edges of all the Basic Grey papers have been distress with Frayed Burlap Inks and I have stamped the swirls on the image with the Stempleglede Small Swirl Stamp. I got the idea for the flowers from the fabulous Camillas blog, thank you Camilla, I get so much inspiration from her lovely blog. I have stamped out a text stamp onto white paper and then punched the flowers with the Large and Medium Retro punches, I have added Brown chalk eyes inks to the edges to give a more distressed look to the flowers. I have just realied I have charms on this card so I can enter it for the Basic Grey Challenge this week, which is "So Charming", thats good 2 for 1.

Happy New Year & Jingle Balls

This is the last challenge of the year on A Spoonful of Sugar Challenge, we will be back on 6th January, so what better theme to end the year with than Happy New Year, there is a great prize on offer and some fabulous card by the my Fellow DT Divas so why not click Here to check it out.

This lovely lying Tilda is quietly waiting for the clock to strick twelve and welcome in the New Year. She has been coloured with Copics, the clock is another Magnolia Stamp and I have added a clock face from my stash, the papers are BG. Sentiment is computer generated. I have shown a close up of the Flowers as I love how they turn out and thought I would tell you how I make them, I have painted a coat of Poppy Red H20's over the large Stemlegled Retro Hibiscus Stamp, then waited for it to dry and punched it with the MEDIUM retro punch I prefer the look when punched with the medium instead of the large punch, The gold centres are fron Eggstravaganza, I will try to find the link and add it later, then Red stickles where added to the middle of each flower.

Stamp Something

Stamp Something Challenge this week is SNOW, I didn't actually make this card for the challenge, I spent yesterday making cards for my Grandsons, no flowers or frills you know what I mean, and this one seemed to fit the bill for this challenge.

This great cheerful and fun stamp is by Whippersnapper, I find they do a gteat selection of stamps for those awkward Men, they have been coloured with Copics with glitter and Flowersoft added. The papers are a Mary Fran Christmas download and the embellies are from stash

I was a bit stuck at first then remembered this cute High Hopes Stamp. I stamped it twice and coloured with distress inks, once coloured I cut the poor babys head out (it didn't hurt him I promise), then I cut round half the baby's head in the main image and tucked the other one inside,(wasn't sure it would work but am quite pleased with the result). Once again sorry for the quality of the photos today, the lighting is so bad in the evenings and as we have company this week I can only craft for the odd few minutes a day, everything has to be done when the rest of the world is tucked up asleep. Heathers sketch is a dream to follow, I have used My Minds Eye papers then cut two ovals with the Nesties, one in white crad and one in blue glitter card. Charlotte has been coloured with Distress inks and H20's (twice) then the whole of one image cut out and 3d onto the oval, the other image was cut leaving her wings behind and then 3d onto the base one. Everything else is from stash.

Stamping with Stampavie

The challenge we have for you on Stamp with Stampavie this week is to make a Star Card, there are some fabulous creations by the DT so click Here to see them

Most of the DT made cards in the actual shape of a star, I opted to go for my usual square card with a star cut out of it. The template for the filigree star is from Wendy Stenton, I cut the shapes out with a craft knife and glittered around all the edges, Silver Angel Hair was added behind the filigree. The cute Sarah Kay image has been coloured with Distress Inks and cut with the circle nestie. Rest from stash
