Whiff of Joy - Project of the Month- Valentines Day - A Gift from The Heart

I thought I was past giving and receiving Valentines Gifts so I really had to dig deep for this one, but then I was talking to Mum about Valentines Day and she said she had never received a card or gift, I thought after 86 years she deserved one and that I would rectify this omission, so this is especially for her.

I really had no idea where to start, but nothing ventured nothing gained, so out come my trusted Heart nesties, some Pink Card, a few flat backed pearls and I was on my way. I have written a tutorial below on how I made the heart box if you would like to have a go, its my first tutorial so please forgive any shortcomings.

I used Melinda Hugging Cushion for the Card and also the Heart Cushion accessory stamp for the inside. They are both coloured with copics, The papers are Little Yellow Bicycle, and large flowers Imaginise, all the rest from stash.

For the Box you will need:
A piece of A3 card
Scalloped and Plain Heart Nesties
A Good Drys clear Adhesive
Acetate
Ribbon

Cut from the A3 Card two Strips

1 - 13.1/2" x 2
1 - 13.1/2" x 1.1/2"
1 Largest Scalloped Nestie Heart
1 Largest Scalloped Heart with the 3rd largest plain heart inside
Then cut:
1 Acetate Heart cut with Largest Plain Heart Nestie

Score and fold both of the long strips 1/4" from one long edge, then cut small triangles out along the length of the strip. Glue the 2" strip onto the plain heart easing it around the curves, make sure you glue this a little in from the scallops as you need to make the lid a little larger to fit.

Attach the acetate to the inside of the Lid with drys clear adhesive

Attach the 1.1/2" strip, that you have already scored, folded and cut, to the lid this time make sure the edge of the strip goes right up to the bottom of the scallops.

Before you stick the two edges of the strip together make sure the lid fits over the bottom of the box it is possible to adjust the size at this point.

Cut a heart from tissue to cover the workings on the bottom of the box and Volia you have a heart box to decorate as you please. If you have any queries please e-mail me, I will work on my tutorial skills before next months POM.
