Another Card for  Sam Pooles Creative Studios,  its my turn to post on the Creative Studios DT Blog Today so though I would show you what I have been up to for Sam.

 

 

Unusually I started off with the finding the papers for this card, they are by Fabscraps, love them and must get some more.  I inked one of Sams background stamps (on the website soon), with Versamark ink and added Gold Embossing Powder, just to add a bit more interest to the backing paper.  The Sentiment is from  Art Phrases Stamp sheet, it was stamped with Walnut Stain Distress Ink onto another sheet of Fabscraps paper and cut out with Spellbinders Labels 13 I also used the same the same die to make the frame, then tucked a Motif from the Moroccan Motifs die set behind.

The Artful Angel which has been coloured with Copics is from the Artful Ladies A5 Stamp Set as was the Flower at the top.  I cut a strip of Matching Backing paper and folder it along the length and attached to the bottom of the card, then added a Lace rose, (this rose was so easy to make, I just distressed some Lace with Spun Sugar Distress Ink and rolled it up, love how it turned out).  The  Hat Pins are also available from Creative Studios.

Just Magnolia Challenge

 

 

Already Friday, wish there was 8 days in each week, then I might catch up with myself, today on Just Magnolia & hAnglar and stAnglar Challenge we have a fabulous sketch for you from our teamie Jacque, hope you can come and join us.

 

I was aiming for a Distressed Ink look on this card, I am quite pleased with the results, I coloured the image with Spectrum Noirs again and for the first time I actually used the blender pen, I usually steer away from blenders but I think I will start using it more after this.

The large flower base was cut using the Spellbinder Aster Flower Die and the Fabric Flowers are from the Prima Miss Godiva -  Caramel selection available from Crafters Companion.

The Spectrum Noir Colours I used are:

Flesh FGS9, FS4, FS2, CR3

Blues: TB3 TB2 Blender

Hair GR8 EB2 EBa

Afternoon

Two posts today, I popped over to the TOMIC Challenge Blog like to pop over there now and again, the Dt produce such fabulous cards and I get lots of inspiration from the.  They had a sketch and a Colour challenge on the go and as the colour was Yellow, which is my new favourite colour combo, I thought I would have a go.

I was in luck as I had some Yellow & Green papers in my scrap drawer, this lovely little Tilda is fast becoming one of my most used stamps and I think she looks lovely coloured in Green and Lemon.  She was coloured with Spectrum Noirs on Neenah Classic Crest card.  The sentiment is from the Lili of the Valley Vintage labels stamp sheet and flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I am also entering this Card into the Cute Card Thursday Challenge

You’re Wonderful

 

 

Hello lovely peeps hope you are having a good day.  This weeks Lilis Little Fairies Challenge has gone live on the blog and this week we are spotlighting the lovely Lili of the Valley Bears with our Theme “BEAR ESSENTIAL"S”, hope you can come and join us.

I have chosen “Patchwork DaIsy” Lili of the Valley Stamp for my card and have coloured him with Copics,  I popped over to Nitwits Collections yesterday, just to see if they had anyhting new and I don’t know how but the Stuffed Love collection suddenly appeared in my basket, as you know I am a stash diet until Sunday but as it was onlt about $6 thought it would be rude not to buy it.  I love the pale pinky peachy and lemon colour ways on this collection.  The sentiment is from another of the new Lili of the Valley A5 Stamp Sheets – Sentiment Tags.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

What A Day and it isn’t over yet

 

 

Had so much to do today I decided to get up at 5am and start early before Mum was awake, well as most well laid plans this one went awry, most of the work I had to do was on the Internet, I turned on my Computer and NO INTERNET!!!!! rang the BT helpline to be told there was a fault in my area, they hoped to have it corrected and up and running by Midday, well I had a bit of a “throwing dummy out of the pram” moment then decided I might as well make the most of the time and do some dreaded housework (excuse my swearing).  Was just bleaching the kitchen worktop when I heard the most horrendous noise from a Blackbird sitting on the fence,  when I went out to investigate my lovely kind, soft little Rosie had turned into a TIger and was staking out their nest which had 3 babies in it, I spent nearly an hour trying to get her in all the while The Mum and Dad blackbirds were mobbing me.  Managed to save the babies and get her in.  Will not bore you with it but the day has just gone from bad to worse, but at last I am up in my craftroom and ready to craft.

 

I made this card last night using a Wee Digi image I have had for ages, I coloured her with Spectrum Noirs on Neenah Classic Card, decided to be a bit different this time and instead of Glittering her Wings I decided to glitter the dress.  The papers which have been torn and distressed with Walnut Stain Distress Ink is from Pion Designs.  I have used a Heatfelt Designs Swirl Stamp available from J & C Creations and a sentiment from Lili of the Valley direct to the paper and inked with Stormy Sky Distress Ink.  The Flowers are from Wild Orchid Craft

On The Ball

 

Morning all, have woken up with a real urge to buy some new dies, but as I am still on my stash diet I am having to struggle not to give in, even though I know my Diet ends on Sunday, thank goodness, and I am off to The “Sincerely Yours” show at Biggin Hill at the weekend, where I just know there will be loads of stands selling Spellbinders.  My problem since I was a child has been that if I want something I want it NOW not at the weekend, and I am afraid even at 65 I still have this trait.

Now down to todays card, the new Lili of the Valley stamps have made making those brain teasing Boys Cards so much easier, there are some fantastic designs among this release and I just had to use this one called “Super Striker” .  The papers are from Nitwits Collections – Tour of London.  The Sentiment Label is from another of the new Lili of the Valley releases Sentiment Tags.  I have coloured the image with Spectrum Noirs onto Neenah Classic Card .

Morning peeps, Hope you all had a great weekend, and my friends in the USA had a wonderful Mothers Day.  Isn’t it nice to be able to get the washing outside, I love the smell of washing that has been dried in the fresh air.

 

 

 

Back to Tilda today, I was practising masking on this one and have used 3 stamps, Tilda first then after masking her I stamped the log and finally masking both Tilda and the Log I stamped the Fence background.  All were coloured with Copics, The card and papers were cut with Go-Kreate XL Dies and Backing papers are by Pion Designs.

A New Challenge

 

Hi all, today I am pleased to announce the start of a new challenge, the J & C Creations Challenge, its a monthly Challenge with no restrictions on products used as long as it conforms to the Challenge Theme and each month there is a £20 voucher to be spent on the J & C Creations Website. This is my DT Card for the Challenge, another white on white plain and Simple card

 

 

I have used the largest two stamps from the Carnations Florals 2 - 5 piece stamp set.  It was coloured with Copics R85, R83, R81, RV000, the images when then cut and edged with Halo Mix Silver Glitter, Champagne Glitter Glass was then added to the middle of the flower.

The beautiful embossed white card was made using the  Darice Embossing  Folder – Damask and the pink card is by Co-Ordinations Co-Ordinations Card.

A Little Bit of everything

 

W0000 Hoooo could not believe it when I had an e-mail from Sam Poole from Creative Studio asking if I would like to join the  Creative-Studios Design Team, for someone who has just started branching out from Cute Cards it was a real honour, I’ve been longing  to show you all some of the makes I have been working on.  Here is my first, please be kind to me, as a newbie to this type of crafting.

I have used a mixture of stamps from the Artful Ladies A5 Stamp Sheet (Figure, Heart, Flowers, Crosses) and the Buttefly Girl A5 Stamp Sheet   (Balloons, Leaves & Bird).  The Dress and Jacket have been paper pieced, I have cut out an extra pair of wings and 3d them on to add some movement.

The Sentiment is a stamp from the A5 Sheet of Art Phrases, which I then cut up into separate words , Finally I added Flowers, Lace, Ribbon and Butterflies from my stash the glittered edge was made using Fran-tage Aged Rose Embossing Enamel, Gold Halo Glitter and Pearlised Mica Fragments

Morning all, todays post is a simple and quick one.  Last weekend I was playing with lots of new items I had not even opened let alone played with, here is a card I made for J & C Creations

Lilis Little Fairies Challenge

Mums are Angels in Disguise

 

Morning peeps, Its Mothers Day this week in the USA and Tiddly Inks Challenge are celebrating with the theme  of the Challenge this week, I popped over to the Tiddly Inks website to purchase a digi image I saw on one of Pops cards yesterday, not only did I end up with that image fall in basket but 6 more got in there somehow.

 

 

This little darling is called Wryn – Close to me Heart, I was set a challenge by a friend –“Colour a cute image in really Bright Colours”, it was hard work I must of coloured her  3 or 4 times before I was happy, but I am happy with the result now.

 

I have coloured Wyrn with Spectrum Noirs on Neenah Classic Card both available from Crafters Companion, I did think about going with Bright backing paper but that was just too much bright in one day for me, I am going to have to take it one step at a time to get used to this bright malarky.  The backing Papers are Pion Designs, and the flowers are a mixture from my stash.  The Lace is from The Ribbon Girl.

I want my Mummy!!!!!!

 

Hi dear friends, what a day I am trying to get everything up to date as I am going to spend a couple of Days this week  with my GS Owen, & His Mum and Dad, I wil be going on Thursday and be back Friday evening, so what with Washing & Ironing, Shopping and getting DT cards done I have been very busy, what a good girl I am.

 

 

 

I have wanted to colour Tilda with her Blue Blanket every since she arrived on my doorstep.  I have coloured her with Copics on Neenah Classic Card as usual.  The background is another of the new Magnolia release, I wanted the fence and flowers in the background a bit longer than the actually stamp, so I carefully lined up the image and stamped it twice, works quite well.   I have had these flowers for ages cannot remember who I bought them from. The Fan lace is from the Ribbon Girl and the Papers are from Pion Designs.

 

I am entering this card for the CLP Challenge, I just love this Challenge Blog always lots of lovely layers to work with, and I do love my layers.

A Little Reminder

What a great image to send to a friend.  The papers are from the SWALK CD Volume 2.   The image was stamped onto Neenah Classic Card with Memento Ink, The dark blue card I have used for the mats is Co-Ordinations Card.  All adhere together with Collall All Purpose Glue, this glue is an essential in my craft room, it re-positionable for a short time so enables you to mat your layers perfectly but when its dry it sticks like concrete.

 

 

This was the last card I made for the release and I sent it off in a hurry and forgot to take a note of the Spectrums I used, what a pian.

A Wonderful Grandma

Morning Peeps, these Bank Holidays confuse me, have been sitting here thinking its Sunday.  Are you all enjoying your Bank Holiday, bit cold isn’t it.   I have a question for you this morning does anyone now what yarn you use for crocheting tiny teddies someone has asked me to crochet one for them, I have found a pattern on the net but its American and just says Yarn so no idea whether its cotton or  what ply it is, I would be over the moon of someone knows what is best to use.

I have been asked to make a Birthday Card for a Grandma using a Tilda Stamp so thought this new stamp would be ideal.  I have coloured her with Copics as usual using Neenah Classic Card, The papers are from the New Magnolia range available from Crafts U Love and Bunny Zoes Website.  The roses are made with sonme of the Checked backimg paper and cut with The Bitty Blossoms die by Spellbinders.  The Little tag tucked behind is Doo Hickey Do Hickey Vintage Tag die.  The Sentiment is from Lili of the Valley.

And Todays Colour is Blue

Afternoon or evening I meant to get these cards up a lot earlier but had a play with my Brayer and just got carried away, well I have 3 Blue projects  for you today it was completely by accident, it doesn’t reflect my mood.

My first card is an 8 x 8 card not my usual size, I do like my 5.1/2” square cards the image is from an older SWALK release and the papers are from The  SWALK CD Volume 2, both from Crafters Companion, I am so pleased that I was asked to colour this image it reminded me of how much I love it,  don’t you adore that lush bow made with  pale Pink Silky Crush  Ribbon and the lace is Scallop Venice White Guipure, both from the Ribbon Girl.  The image was coloured with Spectrum Noirs onto Classic Card

Another very plain card again, but I am pleased with it, again it has been coloured with Spectrum Noirs, and the backing paper from the SWALK CD Volume 2, I have used the same lace as the card above.  The Bracket is from the Tim Holtzs Hardware Findings die set. I cut it from Blue Co-Ordinations Card which I then covered in Glamour Dust.

Finally todays practise piece, I am loving this brayering almost got it now, the moon needs a bit more shade around it and I have rather overcrowded the paper, but am pleased with the Hills at the bottom, all in all in am happy with how it turned out.

This has been brayed with Adirondack Earthtone “Stonewashed” ink pad, the Flowers and dark flowers are stamped with Black Versafine and the lighter flowers with Faded Jeans Distress Ink.  All these products are available from LisaB Designs,  go and check out the website.

Learning a new technique and a Tilda Candy for you

Morning all a bit late posting this morning, yesterday Lin and I attended a fabulous course in Maidstone given by the awesome LisaB  from Lisa.B Designs, we were learning to use a brayer and working with fabulous Lavina Stamps.  I found the brayer pretty hard to get the hang of but Lin just sailed away with it, I think I am a bit heavy handed with the brayer and couldn’t quite get the flicking motion, but now I have seen it done I am determined to practise, will let you see the results.

 

 

Here is the card I made at the class, I would love to say I brayed the background, but unfortunately I didn’t it was a one of a number of card blanks that was on sale at the Mobile Shop in the Hall.  I did stamp it though I used Milled Lavender and Black Archival Ink to stamp the flowers, Bats and Castle, then added Gold stickles to the Flowers, the middle was cut with nesties and matted and 3d back on to the card blank, I think it looks great.

 

This  is my first attempt at brayering, not very good not even enough pressure and as I was a bag of nerves I managed to drop the brayer onto the corner of the practise piece, but I do intend practising later today, Thanks Lisa I had a brilliant afternoon and came home really fired up.

Princess (aka Claire)

I expect you are wondering about the title of this post, I will let you in to the secret, there is a Princess working at Crafters Companion Towers her name is Claire H,   Claire is also a member of the Crafters Companion Challenge DT so I am sure you would of seen some of work.   How she came by the name of Princess is far in the distant past, I think our Mandy may have had something to do with it.  Anyway this gorgeous little Princess reminds me of our Claire same fair hair and blue eyes, hence the title.

 

 

This is one of the new Crafters Companion Swalk Images to be released next Tuesday, more details below.  She has been coloured with Spectrum Noirs of course the papers are from the SWALK CD Volume 2.

The countdown is on now for sneak peeks of the new stamps in the sweetest stuff range from Swalk at Crafters Companion.  They will be launched on Ideal World at 9pm on the 8th May which is next Tuesday .   There are 12 new sweet stamps and also there is a brand new CD resource to go with the stamps.  This will contain tutorials with Leann and all 54 images from swalk will be shown with colouring guides, listing colours of Spectrum Noirs used so you can achieve really good results yourself at home.

Here is the gorgeous Baby Girl stamps from the new release, I just adore her.  She has been coloured with Spectrum Noirs on Neenah Classic Card.  The backing paper has been printed from the SWALK CD2, I used the Colouriser option that's is a feature of all Crafters Companion Cds  to get an exact match to the Spectrum Noir colours I have used, this is such a brilliant feature, how many times do you search for hours for matching backing paper.

Carrying on the Summer theme from the post below another card that I hope brightens your day.

 

 

I have used 3 stamps from the Magnolia Spring Release Club Set here, the Daisy Background, Bee Tilda and Sentiment.  The colours have not come out quite right on the photo,but I have been playing around on Photoshop and this is the nearest I can get to the original (think I could do with some Photoshop lessons).  I have coloured the images with Copics on Neenah Classic Card, the papers are all from my stash.  A few dies have been used again all of the Doo Hickey Dies available from Crafts U Love. Butterfly, Vintage Tab and Mini Doily.

 

The Seam Binding is from the Ribbon Girl and the roses are again from Crafts U Love.

Crafters Companion Challenge

 

 

Happy Tuesday, can you believe it is already May, where has this year gone, is it because I am getting older that time just seems to fly by.  As its the first of the Month it is time for Crafters Companion Monthly Challenge and this week our theme is HERE COMES SUMMER, as usual Sara is offering a £30 Voucher for the winner chosen at random to spend on the Crafters Companion Website.

 

 

 

This will be the first time you have seen this SWALK image it is one of the new release of 12 which will be on sale later this month, more info in the next few days.

 

I have coloured the image with Spectrum Noirs on Neenah Classic Card, the papers are from The Swalk Volume 2 CD .  The Ribbon is from Stash and flowers are from Wild Orchid Craft.
