Stamp With Fun

Swf1a

I was so pleased and surprised to see that the lovely girls from Bildmalarna had a stand at Alexandra Palace, of course I had to have some of the sweet stamps and it looked as if lots of visitors had the same idea their stand was really popular.  I just had to ink one up as soon as I got home.

Swf1

I think this is my favourite image, its the cat that did it for me.  I am still practising with my ProMarkers and I think I am almost there, the papers were left over from a card I made last week.  I have made a triple bow with Seam Binding from the Ribbon Girl, and the flowers are cut with a Marianne Design Die.  The large swirl is a magnolia die.  I have edged the flowers with a glue pen and Glamour Dust.

Swf2

The Sentiment which has again been coloured with ProMarkers has had lots of Glamour Dust and Pearls added.

The Promarkers Used:

Dress & Hat: Peach, Mango. Saffron, Vanilla, Pastel Beige

Easter Bonnet

sat4a
Morning everyone, I hope the sun is still shining everywhere, I am sure this weather is too good to last.  This has been posted in absentia as I am at Ally Pally until Sunday, we always seem to get nice weather there and I am hoping to spend lunch out in the open gazing at the amazing view and having an e-ciggie.

sat1

The new Butterfly Collection rom Magnolia is the best yet, there is not one image I dislike.  I ordered some lovely Bo Bunny Gabrielle Papers from Charmed cards and Crafts this week and just had to use them as soon as I opened the parcel.  They are so lush that it really seemed a sin to distress them but it had to be done.

I have used copics to colour Tilda ,  the filigree doily behind the image is  is a Die from Dies to Die For which I have distressed with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The Brad, Butterfly and Blue Lace are from an embellishment Pack that matches the paper.

sat3

The Cherry Blossom Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and have been glittered with Stardust Stickles.

Copics used:
Flesh E02, E01, E00, E000, R20

Just Magnolia and Hanglar & Stanglar

JMHS1a

I should be on my way to London when you read this, it seems as if I have been away every weekend lately  this is the last one for a little while, but this is my Favourite show there is something about Ally Pally it always seems just so friendly and comfortable, I am off to see Grease this evening with my good friends from Crafters Companion, Sara, Meg, Katie and Sharon cannot wait to see them for a good catch up and have also wanted to see the show for ages.  Don’t forget if you are coming to Ally Pally to come and visit the Lili of the Valley Stand and if   you are around at lunch time perhaps we can meet up for a coffee and chat.

JMHS1

Now down to this weeks challenge on Just Magnolia & hAgnlar and stAnglar Challenge Blog, we have a lovely sketch designed by Kathy for you to follow, I loved this sketch lots of unusual layers.  I have used a new Paper Pad I bought at the NEC it contain lots of vintage teal and brown designs and is just scrummy,  its by g.c.d and is called Ella Blue.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Craft as are the pearls.  Bev thinks this little Tilda looks as if she wants to visit the bathroom but I think she is bending down to look at the little butterfly that has landed on her hand.

jmhs2

I have used copics to colour Tilda but I packed them before I made a note of the numbers, from memory I think I used  E93 and E91 for her trouser, E71, E71 and E40 for her hair and shoes, the usual colours for her face and  C1 for her blouse.

I have scheduled a card for tomorrow hope it works.

This card is now available to purchase on my e-bay site

Lili of the Valley Challenge

paul5a

Sorry this is an extremely quick post, I have to get ready for Ally Pally, I have managed to get a lift into Canterbury to get my food shopping for Mum over the weekend  and I need to do some washing and get it on the line, making the most of this lovely weather.

paul5

There is a new challenge today on Lili of the Valley Challenge, a colour theme for you PEACH and GREEN, I love these colours.  I have used “Gift Wrap” for my card and have coloured using Promarkers, I am really getting on with ProMarkers now and other than the amount of colours I really don’t think they are much different from Copics, so after 2 years deriding them I know have to eat my words.

Will try to back on here later to pad out this post with more info, but my lift has just arrived

Out of the Box

Box2a

A week or so ago my lovely teamie Kathy from Lili of the Valley Design Team posted a stunning Exploding Box Tutorial on The Lili of the Valleys Ideas to Inspire blog and I have been dying to have a go at making one.  Mum was a bit down yesterday evening and didn’t want to go to bed so I decided to take a few crafting Bits downstairs and sit with her and encourage her to watch TV whilst I crafted on the dining room table, it has been a couple of years since I have actually done this.  I had already coloured this Fairy Friends Image from Lili of the Valley and had bought some Floral Sheets from the lovely Jak Heath at  Harrogate which I had been dying to have a go at so I decided to try making the box.

Box2

I think I will need a bit more practise until mine is as beautiful as Kathys but I am quite pleased with it, even though it looks a bit crowded with flowers.  I didn’t have all the floral dies that Kathy used so had to make do with what I had, the starting point was the flower in the middle of the box which is from the Flower Sheet designed by Jak Heath for La Pashe, there are some fabulous floral sheet to make lots of different 3d flowers in the set, I am going to get Mum ti have a go at cutting some out today will help her to make them up tonight, will let you see what she makes.

The Flowers are all punched with Small Floral Punches from The Hobby House, and Paper is from the Tilda Kitchen Garden Pad.

box3

I am not sure what colours I used as this image was coloured ages ago and never used.

box4

Here is the Closed Box , if you would like to have a go at making one of these gorgeous boxes you will find Kathys tutorial Here, it takes ages to make ( I started at 9.30pm and finished at 2.30am  last night) but it is well worth it.

A Spoonful of Sugar Challenge

asfs1

Have you heard the weather forecast for the weekend over here in the UK its going to be sunny and very warm, well about time is all I can say, I have had enough of this long old winter, and as I suffer from SAD the sun can not come quick enough.

My card for todays A Spoonfull of Sugar Challenge is very apt for the sunny weekend, I am not sure if in these days of PCs, X Boxs  and all other computer games, that little boys make their own boats and watch them float in a puddle or down the river,  my brother and I had hours of fun during the summer doing this and playing Pooh Sticks, we also spent hours collection Frog Spawn and catching Sticklebacks, not sure Mum enjoyed finding them in the sink though.

IMG_0001

Down to this weeks Challenge then we would like to see   Ton's of Texture At least two different types of texture on your card, what a great challenge and we are sponsored by Pixie Cottage Stamps.

I dread having to make a boys card, its not the image I dislike its the fact that I am never sure how to embellish them’ but I quite like this one,  “By The River” has always been one of my Favourite Lili of the Valley Boy Stamps, I just want to pinch his little cheeks.  I have used Copics and Polychromos Pencils to colour the image.  The Ticket, Grunge Word and Background stamp behind the image are all from the new Lili of the Valley Additions range which will be on sale at Ally Pally this coming weekend and on the website from 19th April.  I have stamped all this accessories with Forest Moss Distress Ink.  The Raffia is from B&Q and Bakers Twine from the Ribbon Girl.  The gorgeous Mother of Pearl Buttons are from the Craft Fairy.

Bunches of Love

Fizzyuseb

I had a lovely day yesterday, my Dinner date with the Grandchildren was very special, then we spent the afternoon crafting, that is the reason I am so late posting today, I have spent 3 hours clearing up after the “Invasion of The Grandchildren” (good film title) in my craft room.

Fizzyuse

This is one of the Fizzy Moon stamps I bought on my visit to Crafts U Love, these bears are just toooooooo cute.  The papers are from the Tilda Pad I bought from Lili of the Valley at the NEC, they eill not be selling these on the website but will have stocks at the shows.

The delicious lace is from Wild Orchid Crafts, I really didn’t want to cut this lace its just to pretty.  The Seam Binding and Charm is from The Ribbon Girl.

Fizzy3

Thought you might like to see the results of the boys efforts at Easter Crafting, Benjamin( 6 )  had to make an Easter Bonnet for his home work, and Robert ( 10) had to decorate an Egg for a School Project.  Benjamin spent ages sticking flowers and chicks onto his hat, I showed him how to make flowers with tissue paper and he made some of these as well as just using the paper and material flowers.

Benjamin wearing his Hat, and of course Robert had to wear it too:

rob

and here is Roberts Harry Hill TV Burps Egg: this was his suggestion and the only help he got was to cut out the glasses and attaching the arms to the body.

I am very proud of the boys

Some Me Time

sun3a

Yesterday I decided to have a little me time and to forget all my commissions, and Design Team work and just do something I wanted to do.  Sometimes I forget that this is a hobby and not a way of life it then becomes less enjoyable.  I took an age making this card but enjoyed every minute of it.  I do realise how lucky I am to be on some fabulous designer teams and have fantastic products to work with and I wouldn’t change it for the world but I must learn not to take it so seriously that it takes over my life.

sun1

I have used lots of Lili of the Valley Stamps on this little step card, “Together Forever” image and sentiment from the Romance collection,  Ribbon stamp from LOTV Additions and I have added a Cherry Blossom from the Additions range to the main image I wanted to give the impression of the swing hanging from a cherry tree, I think it has worked quite well.  The new LOTV Additions stamps will be available at Ally Pally next week and on the website from 19th April.

sun3

A mixture of Marianne and Doo Hickey Swirl Dies have been used as well as Medium and Small Retro Flower Punch and MS Butterfly Punch, I also had some punched branches punched before my MS Punch died  in my little box of die cut spares, I really enjoyed playing with these until I got the effect I was looking for.  The Ribbon stamp has been coloured with Copics and Glittered with Glamour Dust.  The paper is from a Tilda Pad I bought from Lili of the Valley at the NEC last week.

Friday Sketchers

sat5a

Happy Weekend everyone, I find it  really strange that after 4 years of retirement, I still look forward to the weekends, even though there is no difference in my daily schedule
and if it wasn’t for the different challenges and Dt cards I am sure I wouldn’t even know what day of the week it was Winking smile.    Sunday is Mothers Day here in the UK , and although my 2 eldest sons are away on their annual Fishing Trip to France (Hope Matthew catches a few more fish than he did last year, the only one he caught last year was the record breaking 44lb Carp, whilst Richard was catching them every day on a regular basis and he had the next swim to Matthew) my two youngest boys James and Ben are treating me to a Lovely Mothers Day Lunch, it also means I will spend lots of lovely huggles time with the Grandchildren.

sat2

I used one of my Older Sarah Kay stamps for this card, and coloured the image with Copics, and have used the sketch from this weeks Friday Sketchers Challenge, thank you girls it is a great sketch.  The lovely embossed and glittered paper is from the 12x12 K&Co Winter Wonderland Pad.

sat3

The Large rose is from Craft Fairy and cherry blossom from Wild Orchid Crafts, I think I bought the gold twiggy things from our local C&H Fabrics, whilst punching the leaves my Martha Stewart punch broke, this is the 3rd MS branch punch that has died on me, has anyone else had the same problem, I decided I was not going to buy another one but this morning have realised just how much I use it so I expect I will trawl the websites today to get one.

sat4

The Copics used to colour the image
E00, E01, E11, E13, R20
R11, R21, R22, R35

Just a quick reminder did you know that First Class Stamp will cost 5p more on Monday, but if  you still have some 1st class stamps you will still be able to use them as there is no price on them, it was recommended on BBC Breakfast this morning that you buy as many stamps as you can today.
