Snowscape

Morning peeps, another very quick one from me today, I am off to Rochester this morning.  I received some new dies in the post yesterday and just couldn’t wait to use them, they are by a company I have never heard of before but I am really pleased with them, I have got 3 different layered Christmas Trees, Bauble & Leaves I can assure you they will be featuring on plenty of my posts this week.

Sat1

Lots of my old Christmas Magnolias used on this card, Tilda Carry Tree, Church and Christmas trees, they have been stamped with Memento Ink onto Neenah Classic Card (they were loads of colours used and I forgot to make a note of them sorry).

Two of my new dies were used to make the lovely 3d  Christmas Trees they are  – Dee’s Distincively Dies - Large Snow Covered Stacker Tree and Small Snow Covered Stacker Tree available from Oyster Stamps.  Once cut I distressed each layer with Weathered Wood Distress Ink, I also used a Doo-Hickey die to cut the fence.

Sat2

here is a close up of of the trees distressed and assembled.

Fairy Dust

Bit  late this morning, my fault I downloaded a new book yesterday to my Kindle and just couldn’t put it down until I had finished it (4.30 this morning).  It was not the sort of book that would have caught my attention but I heard about it on Womens Hour and thought it sound like a good read, it was one of the best and most touching books I have read in a long time at one stage it was so sad I didn’t think I could go on with it, but after a big cry I went back and finished, and the name of this fantastic Book is THE ISLAND written by Victoria Hislop, do read it I know you will love it.

Cinnamon Sugar

Oh well its come, the final day of the fabulous Olympics and Paralympics what on earth am I going to watch now, I have enjoyed every single moment of London 2012 learnt lots about obscure sports as well as old favourites.  I do think they have lived up to the name of the Friendly Games.

I didn’t finish the fence yesterday as it started to get too hot, but I am well on the way should be finished by this evening (looks as if I got in just in time if the weather forecast is correct).

Swinging By

Morning all, a quick one from me today, I have a rather long garden fence to paint today, I need to do it before the cold weather sets in.  I have also got to finish painting the garden furniture at some stage.  I was thinking of going to Bluewater today but it seems a sin to be inside instead of taking advantage of the late Summer sun.
Bella1

Not only is it a quick post but it is also a quick card, this one almost made its self.  The sweet Ellie stamp, which has been coloured with Pro-Markers for a change, (Colours below),  is from Wild Rose Studio and is called Bella on Bauble and the card was so quick to make as there is a Backing Paper - Xmas Bella Pad - to match the Bella Stamps, I have finished this simple effort off with some self adhesive Rhinestones, A lush Ribbon from the Ribbon Girl and a little charm from The Hobby House.  The Stamp, Paper Pads and Rhinestones are available from J & C Creations.
Bella2
Promarkers Used:
Crimson, Poppy, Berry Red, Lipstick Red, Pumpkin, Amber, Cool Grey 3, Cool Grey2, Cool Grey1, Blender.
Right I am off to do the fence Smile
Hope you all have a fabulous sunny weekend

Pieces of Quiet

TGIF is all I can say, this week has been full of cleaning and Ironing during the last 6 weeks the last thing I have thought of has been housework, its amazing how untidy and dusty things can get in 6 weeks so I have had a major spring clean this week.
DI23
Todays offering is a card made with a fabulous Penny Black Slapstick StampPieces of Quite  one of the huge range of Penny Black Stamps  available from J & C Creations,  This week sees the start of a new Series of Friday Masterclass’s on J & C Creations Blog, our first masterclass is How to Colour with Distress Inks, I have written a step by step tutorial on how I coloured this card for the class and also given some important hints and tips which I hope will encourage you to get your Distress Inks out and have a go.  I do hope you will pop over to the J & C Creations Blog and let me know what you think of my first attempt at this new series, you will also find out more about the Masterclass and future Topics.

Now for something completely different, If you visited my blog earlier in the week you would have read about our fabulous day at the Paralympics and how frightened I was on the Gondola crossing the Thames from Stratford to Greenwich, my Daughter in Law has sent me a photo which catches my terror perfectly, I must say that my son Richard sitting next to me also hates heights but he seems to be coping with it better than me, so I thought I would share it with you and hopefully make you laugh!!!!

Christmas Gift

Hi peeps. a bit late posting this one, but had to make it this morning as I didn’t get back from my fabulous Paralympic weekend till quite late last night. Wow what a fab weekend it has been, very emotional and inspiring, the Olympic Park was awesome and so much bigger than I thought it would be, the Gondola ride was spectacular (even though a bit scary for me, I have a real fear of heights), company was perfect but most of all the grit, determination and professionalism of everyone taking part was just uplifting.  I have never heard such a noise throughout the whole evening session, you just have to be there to understand how wonderful the atmosphere is.  The Volunteers,  Police, & Service personnel were so friendly and helpful everyone had a smile, My Grandson Owen decided to High Five everyone one in a uniform and ended up with 102 Hits each one given with a smile and friendly word.  I really didn’t want the experience to end.

Mon1

For todays card I have used one of my Lili of the Valley Xmas stamps this one is called Christmas Gift and has been coloured with Copics (coloirs below).  The Backing Paper is from Frosty Christmas Pad, also from Lili of the Valley, the Poinsettias are cut with Doo Hickey Die and the Rolled Roses are made with Marianne Designs Flowers & Leaves Die, I have distressed around the edge of the image & flowers with Faded Jeans Distress Ink.

Cuddle Up

Thanks so much for all the lovely messages I received yesterday, it was really appreciated, when I was feeling at my lowest and was ready to delete my blog and never craft again, it was the thought of all the fabulous friends and their kindness that kept me going.

I am off to London to stay with my son Matthew today, we are going to the Olympic Stadium tomorrow evening to see the athletics, I think we are going to get there early and take a tour of the whole Olympic site plus hopefully take the Gondola over to the Excel centre, cannot wait.

fri

After my break I am really behind with my Christmas Cards so thought I had better make a start now, this image is by Fizzy Moon and although I have had it since last year it has never seen ink, like many of my stamps Smile.

Wow its been a long time

Morning all I am back but I am taking my return very slowly , I have had a torrid 6 weeks but hopefully things are beginning to look much better (keep your fingers crossed). I didn’t realise how hard it was going to be to get back into crafting, I feel as if I have forgotten everything I knew, I even feel as if I have got to have hours of practise just to get back to my normal standard of colouring, and as for taking pictures !!!! as you will see from the photos below that also needs some work.

It seems fate that the first card I made after 6 weeks should be made using a Lili of the Valley image, they were, after all, my first love.  Todays card is for the new Lilis Little Fairies Challenge which this week has the theme of Anything but a Square.  We have a prize of 3 LOTV stamps on the challenge plus we are looking for 3 new Design Team Members, so I do hope you can come and join us.

llf3

My Cousin has just given birth to a lovely little Girl called Megan so I have made this little wall hanging to welcome her to the world.  The Chipboard hearts are available from J & C Creations I painted the chipboard with Pink Sherbert Paint Dabber and then covered front and back with Backing paper from the Papermania Lucy Cornwall paper pack.  The Lili of the Valley image is called “Special delivery”  and has been coloured with Copics.  I have used lots of Punches and Dies to finish the card.

llf2

This is short but I hope sweet, but I will improve promise

Hugs to you all
