Spoonful of Sugar - Snowman

A Spoonful of Sugar - Challenge 24 Sketch by Trina

This week we have a great Sketch by our DT member Trina for you. Also a great prize donated by Bryony from Silly Monkey Crafts a set of Promarkers, so what are you waiting for pop over to A Spoonful of Sugar Challenge Blog and join in the fun. My fellow DT members have created some fabulous cards to get you started.

Trinas sketch was just right for a card I had been commissioned to make, I was asked for a large card suitable for a family. I don't like making large cards, much safer staying with my 6" x 6", so was struggling until I saw this. I have matted green card and Bo Bunny paper onto the Red base card, red paper was then punched with MSDP. The Sugar Nellie Snowman was coloured with Distress Inks and lots of H2o's, the background was stamped and embossed with a snowflake stamp and gold crystal EP then layered onto green card, I attached to the BC with foam pads. The ribbons are from stash and sentiment is a Penny Black Stamp. I hope it fulfils the commission.

I know what you mean about making big cards - I always struggle as I like the image that I've taken the work with to be centre stage! You did a fabulous job with this one and the ribbon and background papers are just right, keeping the snowman as the focus. hugs, annie x

Hi Jacqui, this is brillant! I love your image so perfectly coloured. With those great papers and embellis just wonderful.
In answer to your question about whether I choose paper first then colour my image. I colour my image then choose paper and added detail. I find that my card evolves around my doing my image first. But, Miss Jacqui you don't need any advice from me your work is just first class.
