Just for the Boys

SP1a

Opps!!! I promised to post this yesterday afternoon, but got carried away with all the celebrations, and before I get on with describing the card I would just like to sat what a fantastic day it was,  the Abbey looked wonderful, Kates Dress was stunning but most of all they looked so happy, this was  so different from the stuffiness of Charles and Dianas wedding,  what a credit those boys are to Diana and how proud she would of been of them.

SP1

Right down to the Sneak Peek, I know there are many Lili of the Valley Fans who have been asking when we would be bringing out more boy images well here they are, this new collection of Boys and Boy Bears will be released on 11th May and you are going to be blown away with them all, we have little Wizards, Spacemen and Pirates for you, don’t forget to check out the Design Team blogs and The Lili of the Valleys Ideas to Inspire blog where there will be lots of sneak peeks over the next 2 weeks.

These images will be released in time for Fathers Day so that is the theme for my first sneak peek, I have used a Lili of the Valley Sentiment and Ticket stamp both of which have been distressed with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

Button, Bows & Bling

Fra
This is going to be so quick again, I need to get my glad rags on and do my hair cannot watch the Royal Wedding looking scruffy, getting Mum up early so she doesn’t miss anything, cannot wait to see Katharine's Dress  I am sure it will be very elegant wonder who the designer is.  I wish William and Kate a wonderful day and a long and happy life together.
It’s  Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge time and this week the challenge is Buttons, Bows and Bling.
We have two sponsors this week – The Ribbon Girl and The Cutting Cafe' so double the chance to win a prize.

Fr

I ordered this new hAnglar and stAnglar last week and it arrived within 4 days what a brilliant service, I love this set, Copics have been used again and I have broken the habit of a lifetime and used no Backing paper or Flowers on this card.  Just in case you cannot make out the bling I have used a lovely rhinestone Heart Ribbon Slide from Wild Orchid Crafts in the middle of the bow.

frb

I turned on Create and Craft yesterday and saw a lady from The Ribbonbox demonstrating with Metal Mesh Ribbon and realised I had bought some of this ages ago and never used it, so after searching my disgustingly untidy drawers and boxes I found it amd made the two Bows on this card.

fr1

Not many colours used  on this image but here they are for you:

Flesh W02, E01, E00, E000,
Hair E17, E15, E13, E11
Clothes: B95, B93, B91, T0, T1, C1, C00

and finally just a little sneak peek of  the next release from Lili of the Valley available from 11th May, this is a Little Boy and Boy Bear collection absolutely perfect for Fathers Day, everytime we bring out a new release I am amazed how they just get better and better, you are really going to love this one and I know lots of you have been waiting for some more Boy images.

sp2

I will be back later today (after the TV coverage and a surfeit of Wedding Celebrations) to show you the complete card and colours.

Enjoy this happy day

A Touch of Class

use2a

Good morning hope you are all enjoying this beautiful weather.  Another new colour combo for me today, I didn’t realise how difficult it was to take a decent photo when using Black so sorry for the quality of them today.

Had a really good day yesterday, I woke up feeling really down, I was missing having my own things around me they have all had to be put away or left in my own home since I moved in with Mum and although I have now been here for 7 years it still doesn't feel like home, I am lucky to have a truly wonderful friend who decided to try to cheer me up and decided I needed some retail therapy so off we tootled to Dunelm Mill just to buy a couple of new Bins for the kitchen and look for a Toaster, £750 pound later and a complete Kitchen make over was achieved, the kitchen is now has a lovely bright White and Red theme with Poppys everywhere. The retail therapy worked Smile

A Spring Sunday

Sun1a

What a beautiful day it is here in Canterbury, and it looks as if the sun is shining on all those inspirational people running the London Marathon, best of luck to them all.

I have had a real family couple of days, first Friday spent with Ben and Charlie, and yesterday Matthew, Emma and Sam came down, we decided to go to the opening of the New Turner Art Gallery in Margate, so had a very cultural afternoon, as it was the opening day the exhibitions were quite sparse but what we did see was fabulous, especially being able to see and almost touch a Turner IRL, I do hope this is the beginning of the regeneration of Margate, it has been left to become really run down for too long, the beautiful sandy beach is one of the best in the South East but the state of the sea front is just so off putting, empty shops and run down buildings.

After visiting the Art Centre we met up with James, Vicki, Ben and Lucy and took in the lovely party atmosphere.  On the way back home we stopped at a stunning 14th Century Pub and had a real slap up meal, the end of a perfect day.

Sun1

Having been away from the craft room for 2 days it took a bit of time to get into the mood this morning, but here is a quick card I made whilst watching the Grand Prix and the Marathon.  I have used another of my new Bildmalarna Stamps on this Easter card which I am sending to Mum, the stamp actually has her sitting on an egg, but I couldn’t get the complete image to fit the lovely sketch on Sketch Saturday this week so I have cut her out and 3d her onto the Nestie Ovals.

Sun2

Copics used:

Flesh E11, E02, E01, E000

Trousers and Hat R02, R01, R00, R000

Egg & Jumper G28, G20, YG11, E41, E40

Flowers and Flat Back PearlsWild Orchid Crafts

Seam Binding and Button– The Ribbon Girl

Nestabilities Scalloped Ovals

Lili of the Valley – Sentiment

Martha Stewart Border Punch, Butterfly  and Leaf Punch

Marianne Designs – Swirl Die

Enjoy the rest of Sunday, and I hope all our friends in the USA have missed the awful spring storms that we have seen pictures of over here.

JM&HS 2nd Birthday

Sorry this is rushed off  to catch the train to Ramsgate early this morning, I am going to spend a lovely day with my dear grandson Charlie and son Ben cannot wait to see them.

Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge is two years old this month.  And to celebrate we are having a “Birthdays” challenge this week, with an amazing $50 voucher so generously sponsored by the lovely people at Simon Says Stamp.  Hope to see you all joining in the fun this week!!

609storeheader

Thank you to everyone who has regularly entered our challenge and made it the success it is.

JM1

I have gone very beige for this one, using some lovely subtle Magnolia Papers and distress them with scissors, (I cannot find my little Timmy’s distress tool but if you saw the state of my craft room that wouldn’t surprise you).  I decided to make Tildas little Party dress all sparkly buy adding Glamour Dust to it,  instead of a ribbon I decided to sramp the LOTV Additions Ribbon stamp on to matching Backing paper.

jm4

The inside has been decorated to match the front, after sitting on my hands to stop me buying the mini Maggies, I finally succumbed and bought some from Nikki at Bunny Zoes, must admit think they are very very expensive but they are so sweet.

I am still playing with unusual shaped cards, this one is created by cutting a scalloped circle with the largest die in the Go-Kreate XXL set and folding it in half, the circles of Mauve card and backing papers (from Nitwits Downloads) are cut with a cutting compass, forgot I had this handy little gadget.  Used more of my swirl dies again and lots of little Retro Flowers and Pearls, the small retro flower punch is from The Hobby House

bunny7

Seam Binding and Lace are from The Ribbon Girl.

Bunny8

The Lovely Birthday Bunny image from Lili of the Valley has been coloured with copics:

Three of a kind

IMGa

I’m up really early this morning the sun shines straight into my bedroom first thing in the morning and it woke me up, but then I never mind being woken by the sun after the rotten winter we have had.  Just a quick reminder that the Lili of the Valley Additions collection will be available on the website tomorrow morning.  This collection, as it’s name suggests, has been created  to complement and add to the normal Lili of the Valley Character stamps, it includes a stunning Ribbon Stamp sheet, Postcards, Labels , Various corners , Tags and more Round Sentiments plus lots m0re, all produced in strong Polymer for easy placement.

IMG_0032

3 more of my new Bildmalarna stamps have been used today, I stamped Mimosa first then masked her and stamped her two little friend on the log over her, the images have been coloured with Copics.  The papers are from Sparkling Spring Collection by Prima, another purchase from The Hobby House at Ally Pally, I already had a couple of these pads at home but thought I would get another just in case they discontinue them, I hate it when that happens.

IMG_0038

I have had the Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch for ages but I think this is the first time I have used it, The Cherry Blossom is from Wild Orchid Crafts as are the pearls.  I have used another of the Bildmalarna Stamps on the base and the sentiment is from the LOTV Additions Range.

IMG_0043

This is a better picture.

Hope you all have a great day
