Just Magnolia Challenge & 1 for Papertake Weekly

001a

It’s the first Friday of the month so time for our Special Monthly Challenge which as always is sponsored by Heidi and her team from Simon Says Stamp with a $30 voucher, and she even pays the shipping!

We have decided to have a little change on how we run our Special Monthly Challenges.  We want to inject a bit of fun into it (and make life easier for us all) so from this challenge onwards we are going to set the Special Monthly challenges as "Anything Goes".

Today the design team are all using the Crackled Glass technique (which is what the challenge was going to be originally).  If you would like to join our challenge we would love to have you try out this technique OR "Anything Goes", it is up to you.

OMG this must be one of the worst cards I have ever made, the Original Challenge on Just Magnolia this week Was Cracked Glass Technique as I said, this was going to be the first time I had done this and I thought it was going to be easy!  easy it was one of the most frustrating techniques I have ever, ever tried.   The first disaster was the Triple Embossing Powder: I have a great big box of the stuff so I spooned loads of it over the Versamarked image and off I went with the Heat Gun, disaster the powder had been contaminated and the whole image had black spots all over it whilst burning my fingers trying to remove the black spots the image fell face down onto the carpet, when I picked it up she was covered in carpet fibre and looked like the bearded woman.  I coloured another image and that little light bulb came on in my head and I had the mad idea to use Glossy Accents, it seemed to work at first but 6 hours later I was still waiting for it to dry.  It did eventually dry and after putting it in the freezer for a few minutes I was able to crack it, but had no control where the cracks went so now behold I have a wrinkled Faced Tilda and no time to make another, so her she is wrinkles and all.

I have used a Sheet from the Prima Annelee paper pad, which I love, the Swirls are also by Prima, and of course the flowers are by Wild Orchid Crafts, the Copics used are:

Flesh: E21, E00, E000, E0000

Hair: E37, £17, E15, E13, E11, E50

Top: R83, R81, RV000

Trousers: BG13, BG11, BG10

Shoes: E71, E70, E40

The bags are coloured with a mixture of all these colours.

Now I am going to post a card I was leaving for tomorrow, just because I am so disappointed with the Magnolia.

I am not even that pleased with this card, think I must have lost my MOJO after the above palaver hope it comes back today.  This card is for the Papertake Weekly Challenge where the Theme is ONE so I have used 1 backing Paper.

005

The papers on this card are last years Bo Bunny Christmas papers, The sentiment is a Magnolia Image. The Lace and Flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts.  I am sure you will recognise that the lovely Amy Dropping Presents image is from Lili of the Valley, she has been coloured with Copics :

Fleash as above

Coat: R27, R05, R02, R01

Scarf: YG 93, YG91, E40.

Shoes and Puppy C7, C5, C2, C0, c00

005a Have a good day everyone, I am off to check if Mr Mojo has come back

Hugs

Hahaha what a story of the Magnolia card! The bearded woman haha LOL
I must say the LO of the card is beautiful but I don't like that cracked glass tecnique.
The other one is stunning! Even when I do have my mojo I don't make cards who look so beautiful as this one.

Sorry you had such a hard time with this card, but it's still beautiful! Cracked glass is really pretty but it's impossible to control where the cracks go. your projects are always awesome!--no matter what! :)

Sorry you had a time of it with the crackled glass technique...I haven't tried it either and stuff like that usually happens to me. you know Murphy's Law... but after all that, it is just beautiful, love the colors, and even though you didn't have control of the cracks, it came out great, that's what hand made is all about.

Now for your LOTV card..OMG... It is Gorgeous!!!
